03.11.2010 - 18:10 | Richard WeskerYeah, I drew out the title text. I wanted something custom for the title that looked like it could have come from an old EC horror comic book. And, of course the colors I used for the text had to be red and blue like 3D glasses. If Phelous lets me keep doing these, they will only get better with time, so I appreciate every bit of support from my fellow fans. :D

03.14.2010 - 18:09 | RuinerXXSinCityI'll second that praise for the title card graphics. Your work continues to improve on each successive video.
As for the review I gotta admit I was a little concerned about whether this would be a 3D version of the original 1968, or 1990 remake. Since I hold both in relatively high regard. Yes the 1990 remake was essentially unnecessary, but after seeing it as a kid I was motivated to watch all the other Romero classics.

Wow they really don't get zombie movies this days. The movie just made me want to see The Night of the Living Dead from the 60s and the 90s but this one is shit, but I wonder if it's DEAD shit.

03.11.2010 - 01:56 | Desertpunk23his movie isn't as bad as the review makes it out to be. Compared to other movies Phelous's list this movie is decent.
Honestly why the hate on this movie, I watched it years ago and I've seen far worse Zombie movies...

03.11.2010 - 02:02 | Desertpunk23Yes that was Si Haig aka Cpt. Spaulding. And sorry for bitching at a comedy review and I normally love Phelous's vids, but come on. This movie isn't meant to be good, and Haigs character was a bumbling moron why would he know what he was burning. He was a classic moron son who couldn't hack it in the world without his dad to support him.

I loved lots and lots of moments in this review, but the 3-D "whatchasay" killed me. Also, I loved your "No more zombies" news report and Zombie Skitch's reply.
I don't know if you just really hated this movie, had more to work with or whatever but you were really on with this review. You really and rightfully slammed the film on its poor writing, inappropriate music, and general stupidity in a funny and insightful way. Not that I don't always love your reviews, because I really do, but I really loved this one. :)

-
03.11.2010 - 03:23 | yourworstnightmareShitty movie, no respect for the original.

Wow, I did not thought that this movie could be so lame. Lame directing, lame camera work, lame makeup, lightning, acting, script, everything! Sid Haig can be a great actor if well directed (as Rob Zombie did), but here it is only a bad joke.
I never find it wrong to show Barbara in almost shock state for the whole movie in the original. People thought that was a missed opportunity to show some kind of "girl power", but if the character is that way, why change it?

-
04.20.2011 - 17:45 | BluesI think the 90s one went way too far in the other direction though. She suddenly becomes near psychotic like evil characters tend to be.
Also making her a survivor just seems to turn the entire thing into a girl power thing.

I can't believe this was actually released, what a complete piece of unadulterated garbage.
Terrible acting from the start, sub-par effects and some of the crappiest, laziest dialogue ever.
"Huh huh, let's make this guy say fuck...and this guy say shit...never mind that it sounds stupid and will no doubt be poorly delivered."
Seriously, the swearing in the dialogue seemed really jammed in there for no reason other than to justify an R rating and cover up for shitty writing.
And the cheek, the sheer gall of the director to show the original on the TV... Why remind people that what they're currently watching is a bastardized version of a FAR superior original??
Also, Sid Haig is garbage. He was garbage in Rob Zombie's drivel and will forever be garbage.
The other movies Phelous has torn new ones to at least didn't insult the memory of an original masterpiece....they sucked all on their own. This is the worst film he's ever reviewed, I'd gladly watch Troll 2 or I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer rather than watch 5 minutes of this unmitigated shit!!!
Sorry, long rant there. But this film is terrible and surely just a "fuck you" to Romero to remind him that people can do what they like with the rights to his work.

03.11.2010 - 06:30 | Richard WeskerYeah, this movie was a shame, really. It took some balls to release this, especially when a far superior remake was released in '90. Seriously, if any of you haven't seen the 1990 version, check it out. It's definitely worth a look.
