This was awesome I totally agree with you on #1 but what surprised me was seeing Tommy Tallarico so high up on your list I had a feeling he'd be on it but as high as #3 really surprised me, but not in a bad way.

Thank you for such an awesome series of videos Paw! :D

Here again, are my thoughts as I watched the video.

2:16- Dun, Dun, Dun, and he returns.
    5:49- Hah, Harvest moon.
    11:36- I see a LoLo.
    15:43- Ooooo, Epicness.
    17:00- Obvious but I don't disagree.

    Overall thoughts.

Well... I can see why this took so long. Seriously in my opinion this is better than Kickassia.
  • THE PETEYGUNN SUPERSHOW  - Paw really can make full length movies

Really Paw this is so much artsy stylish great storytelling pieces youc ould press it on a dvd like with deleted scenes and a commantary people would BUY IT!
I trust my thought in that!!

    Dear Paw,

Where is Mark Seibert? I am sorry, but this list is inaccurate.

Well, okay. Maybe it's awesome. Once again, you cause me green with envy. Mad crazy editing skills! Attention to detail is insane. Cedric is proportioned so sickingly well to his surroundings in Wolfenstein that you KNOW this was done by a talented editor. And a perfectionist.

    ...I still demand better roles.

Just finished watching this and I gotta say, this was pretty awesome, overall!

It was cool to see Goggles again, the information on each composer was really informative and the ending was surprisingly touching.

Keep up the exemplary work, good sir!
  • MistaGawd  - This is Epic

This is just amazing Paw and I'm SOO happy to see That Chick With the Goggles! Oh how I've missed her. I hope she makes a return after this!

    Daaaaaamn. Just daaaaaamn.

I know I said in my comments on part 1 that you totally outdid yourself but now I just have to wonder how on earth you're going to top this one.

As someone who went into this whole Top 9 series with little knowledge of video game composers (I've always dug melodies and tunes in different video games but until now I had never really given a whole lot of thought to the composers behind them), I was thoroughly entertained and even enlightened on how much work and dedication goes into it all. Whatever turns me in the direction of KateTheGreat is a good thing. ;-)

    Spectacular job, Paw!

On a random note; was anyone else thinking of 3D Homer when itty bitty pixel Paw was walking around in the real world? ;-P

OH MY GOD THIS WAS EPIC! Seriously, this may rival Kickassia in terms of sheer awesomeness, epic-ness, and satisfaction (really that ending was great).

Loving the top two composers. Both of them have been influential to me as a gamer and as a writer. Regardless if you love the games they have participated in or not you can't deny that they have contributed greatly to video game music.

loved the music in this, awesome work.
  • Lockenlord
Wow, nobody ever made a top 9 list that epic. The portraits of the individual composers were pretty short but damn, what a story around the top 9. The number one spot was pretty obvious, though.
Thanks also for putting Rob Hubbard on the list. Made me remember that his music was actually made for video games at some point. Someone should make a whole video about the Commodore 64 or the SID in particular. It seems to be an underappreciated system among the internet reviewers.

Possibly one of the most epic videos on this site. Bravo Paw, bravo.

I am just floored by the beauty of this work. The script, music, voicework, everything just flowed together so perfectly. A real work of art. Keep it up Paw.

Dude, Paw, this was EPIC. Someone commented that they hoped David Wise would be on the list and I got my hopes up, but oh well. After we saw Koji Kondo, it was like... yeah, maybe next time. Koji Kondo is a frickin' god.

I went to a Video Games Live concert a couple of years ago near the San Diego Comic Con, and it was gloooorious. Please tell me you've been to one, because it's very, very impressive. If you haven't, you MUST. MUST, I tell you.

    Also-- woot, OC Remix.

Lovedlovedloved the cameos. Doug as the dog biting your face... omg, LMAO. I don't know how long it took you to make this, but I hope you know it came out really awesome.

There's your comment, Paw! I hope it makes your soul happy!

I'm actually kind of sad to see this end. Anyone remember Tommy Tallerico's review show on G4?
  • pap64
    avatar
I do, and to be perfectly honest, I hated him on that show. He was very obnoxious and in my young anger I wanted him to die. But later on as I talked to some of my friends who have met him as well as worked with him, they told me that outside the shows he was a great guy to hang out with, very smart and extremely creative. The same thing with Adam Sessler, obnoxious on his show, but a fantastic guy outside of it.

I think this is because of the G4 programming ideals of trying to market to the cool, hip crowd, so their announcers also had to be appealing to that crowd, and most of the time they came out forced, obnoxious, and annoying.

It's kind of ironic since as a teen I would hate this sort of programming, but now I can't get enough of the Game Heroes, ScrewAttack, JewWario and even Angry Joe and Spoony.

This is suprising epic. Really, if this was the end or finale of some kinda tv/anime/movie/video game series, I'd say this woulda been a good ending for it (of course, I do expect to see more from ya in the future :D)

Also, this list was great too. I hope to see somethin this awesome some other time in the future my man

The cheesy ending was probably the ONLY way to end this... the ONLY way!
  • JavaMoon  - *sigh*

And, of course, no love for Koichi Sugiyama. -_-
  • Gethenian

    This was beyond epic.

Number 1 was to be expected X3

    Still, as a diehard Shin Megami Tensei fan I was hoping to see Shoji Meguro somewhere in the list ;__;
  • Torqegood
I thought that chick with the goggle vanished, hardly posting any videos and then none at all.

Anyways this was a cool video, although the "boring" at the end was a bit cliche for such a thing. Heh.
  • QuetzaDrake

Good, epic stuff, if kinda cliche. I suppose that's the point though, old school video game plots tend to be rife with them.

I was wondering though if that shirt that Paw is wearing is a nod to Persona 3? Pretty sure it's not the MC from the game, but it does look pretty close to him with the blue motif and the hair covering one eye. It'd make some sense, since this Dark and Light selves kinda deal sorta references the same kinda thing the Persona series always has, with the Jungian psychology bits of persona and shadow and such. Would be cool if it was a nod to that, but if not, it's still good obviously.
