I have to agree with you here Paw, the soundtrack to Quake II is phenominal. My personal favorite off the soundtrack is Quad Machine... But like you said, they're all equally as stunning!

As for Q2 OST - it's one of the best ever! I listen to it occasionaly even now, twelve years after it's release. BTW if you enjoyed this, you should also check out Carmageddon OST :)

I had to register just to comment here, because the Quake 2 soundtrack is one of my favorite game soundtracks ever. So happy that you mentioned it, didn't think you would because it didn't seem like you were much into FPS. Keep up the good work :cheer: Oh and check out the Age of Empires 1 soundtrack if you haven't, that's one of my favorites too.

and man, seeing wolfenstein again. i almost orgasmed. My first video game memory is of that game. I got stuck in a corner and shot to death.

I remember the soundtrack to Doom being awesome and the game being one of my favorites, but if all the songs sound kinda like that, I may check Quake out. If I can find it, of course.

Hell yeah, old School FPS's are what it's all about. Back in the day when they didn't just rehash gameplay over and over again with new releases of new games. This generation of consoles marks the dark ages of the FPS genre. :(

I hated the game, but I kept listening to the soundtrack because it was awesome!
off all games, my favourite was Ozar Midrashim from Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. And Dj Hector made an awesome remix of it.

Might you have come across a version of the intro track? It's not on the Q2 CD, or locatable on the net as far as I've tried, but I always longed to own this epic piece of instrumental awesomeness. ;\
