Session 1
Written by Paw Sunday, 18 January 2009 00:24
The first episode in a series of a musical retrospective. From the 80s in early childhood memory, to the grunge scene in the early 90s, to the pop scene, leading to ska, leading to punk, leading to hip-hip, leading to electro, etc. Everything comes full circle eventually. Witness the continuing evolution of music.

It's funny, even though I was born in '88 I was still feeling a nice sense of wistful nostalgia with you. I still recognized a good chunk of those songs, save a few (though "Pika Pika Johnny" is pretty damn funny, if completely unintentional).
If I could offer a piece of constructive criticism, I would say that occasionaly the background music overpowered what you were saying.
Overall, I really enjoyed this video and I'd be happy to see Full Circle as a fixture on this site. :)
At this rate, this site might soon turn into Those Guys With The Glasses. :P :D

I believe Full Circle is great addition to the site. I think its very much in the spirit of what the site stands for, looking back as kids of the '80's and 90's. My only criticism is that when he talks over some of the music its a little hard to understand him. I look forward to watching future episodes. I'm glad to see music reviewed on the site, it just seems like the logical next step after movies, TV shows, and video games. Rock on!

I saw him on the forums and I thought he was awesome! Congrats Paw for getting featured on the site!

Great idea to include the misheard lyrics, thats how i remember most pop-songs from my childhood, too;D
Glad we finally have a nostalgic music guy here and i like your laid-back, "not-desperately-trying- to-be-funny"-style of doing it!
If you can turn the volume of their videos down a tad, it'd be perfect.
Nah, when he covers the grunge-era the volume needs to be waayy up;) Seriously though, i had no problems understanding him.

The definition of greatness on this site is being able to appeal to people who usually would have no interest in what you're describing.
I myself am not much of a music fan. Heck... I'm the only 23 year old I know who cares so little about listening to music I don't even own an IPod. However, despite not really liking music that much I fully enjoyed this video. That's the sign of GREATNESS!
Keep, keep, keep...

Excellent work, sir. As a child of 79 myself these are very familiar songs I'm hearing, especially considering at the time my two teenage siblings were listening to this stuff 24/7.
I like your approach. It's informative, certainly nostalgic and you found a niche in "reviews". Plus, I think you're a very likable guy. Thumbs up!

Well, I feel a bit indifferent about this. Probably cause Ive been working on my own music show called "Audiophilez." Heres the logo I designed http:// fc28.deviantart.com/fs38/ f/2009/002/f/f/ Audiophilez_by_sonmanic.j pg
Im not sure what direction this show is going in, but mine basically involved reviewing albums from the 80s and 90s. So admin, if theres still room for another music guy, can I still audition?
Anyway, Full Circle definatly has potential and I look forward to seeing future episodes. Great job man!
Keep him and make him entertain us.
I am not your trained monkey!
..occasionaly the background music overpowered what you were saying.
It's a tricky balance. It's all about the music of course, but I'd still like to get my points across. I think I learned from my mistakes in sessions 2 and 3.
MOAR PLEASE PAW, MOAR!! ;D
OK, but only because you asked so nicely.
Seriously though, thanks for checking out the vids and for the comments, they help in more ways than one. I have quite a few things planned for the future on top on the main series, but I like surprises so you'll have to wait a bit longer.

01.17.2009 - 23:10 | schmidtmanI like it, because I love music. But 1 thing annoyes me a little bit: He speaks not loud enough through the music, so it's a little bit harder to listen to him, but you should keep him.
same with lee and mexican joe
