Session 1

(44 votes, average 4.98 out of 5)

The first episode in a series of a musical retrospective. From the 80s in early childhood memory, to the grunge scene in the early 90s, to the pop scene, leading to ska, leading to punk, leading to hip-hip, leading to electro, etc. Everything comes full circle eventually. Witness the continuing evolution of music.

same with lee and mexican joe
I think Paw is trying for more of an informative video rather than a funny one. As for Lee, he's already onboard for the most part.

We have a music guy now. sweet. I'd like to now have a music review guy, because all I know about music is the songs I play on Guitar Hero and the music my dad listens to. So, I have a thing for classic rock.

oh, and sorry about the Star Wars pun.

Pikachu!!
• Bryguy87  - I had an idea for that
avatar
it would be about the false metal and false rock and such
so if i ever get to dling the crap it may happen

It's funny, even though I was born in '88 I was still feeling a nice sense of wistful nostalgia with you. I still recognized a good chunk of those songs, save a few (though "Pika Pika Johnny" is pretty damn funny, if completely unintentional).

If I could offer a piece of constructive criticism, I would say that occasionaly the background music overpowered what you were saying.

Overall, I really enjoyed this video and I'd be happy to see Full Circle as a fixture on this site. :)

At this rate, this site might soon turn into Those Guys With The Glasses. :P :D

I really enjoy this guys work, and its really nice to seem him right on the front. He's entirely entertaining and i can really agree with some of those music choices, as well as indulge in brief history lessons depending on the genre of music. Awesome
• Pie3492  - Excellent!

To Paw:
You're entaining, funny, amazing, influential, and awesome!
I love music, but I don't think that I can match this love that you have!

To Mr. Admin (or more, profoundly, Mike):
Keep him, he's cool.
He will be essential to your team.

I'm confused. How did you associate that Men at Work song with pokemon when pokemon wasn't even existant until the late 90s?

And there was other music in the 80s than bubble-gum pop and new wave. I guess your parents didn't let you listen to hair metal.

Liked him from when he first did this vid. The second one is good too.

I believe Full Circle is great addition to the site. I think its very much in the spirit of what the site stands for, looking back as kids of the '80's and 90's. My only criticism is that when he talks over some of the music its a little hard to understand him. I look forward to watching future episodes. I'm glad to see music reviewed on the site, it just seems like the logical next step after movies, TV shows, and video games. Rock on!
• MindOfCrazyPerson222  - I remember this guy!
I saw him on the forums and I thought he was awesome! Congrats Paw for getting featured on the site!

Congratulations Paw, I'm shocked to see you front paging it! You deserve it man, these videos make me realize how awkward my own evolution through music was. Annie Lennox and Limp Bisket. Ugh.

Great videos dude. Informative, and fantastic!
• Anthony R  - Music Reviewer.

If a music review guy is wanted then I qualify. Check my page for more.

YEAH! Refreshing!!

I really gotta say as a music buff (so called) it's really great to see something like this! It was fun, refreshing and above all else WELL DONE!

Not to mention that you struck a cord in my heart :3 .. Pika pika....!

ThatChickWithTheGoggles says: MOAR PLEASE PAW, MOAR!! :D

like the video, it's great, but it's kinda of a bother to hear him at the same time as the music 'cause i dunno what to focus on.
anyway, it's a thumbs up from me, just make sure next time the music's volume is lower so it's more on the background(i mean when you're talking)
• DrGero  - Good stuff.
avatar
I liked it very much, and I had vague memories of all those songs.

I grinned at the "Ice Cream" and "Pika" bits, cause I did the same thing when I was younger, and I got a good laugh when Pikachu suddenly appeared.
• DarkSkyGhost  - Awesome
avatar
Keep him and make him entertain us.
• Thesadman
That was just really really good, its fascinating as apposed to hilarious (though there were quite a few good laughs and the bit with pikachu had me in stitches). Keep it up man your awesome.

Great material!

I have one minor gripe, though: The music videos are a little too loud, and your voice is a bit hard to hear over them. If you can turn the volume of their videos down a tad, it'd be perfect.
• CeliaKoda  - Pika Pika!
avatar
Hey, that was pretty cool! I've been wondering when they'd get a music guy on board and thankfully, you do the job well! Looking forward to seeing the next installment, and I hope you stick around! n_n
• Husky  - Ice-Cream!

Great idea to include the misheard lyrics, thats how i remember most pop-songs from my childhood, too;D
Glad we finally have a nostalgic music guy here and i like your laid-back, "not-desperately-trying- to-be-funny"-style of doing it!
If you can turn the volume of their videos down a tad, it'd be perfect.
Nah, when he covers the grunge-era the volume needs to be waayy up;) Seriously though, i had no problems understanding him.

I wasn't born untill '86 but I still know most of these songs. Especially the Neverending Story.. that movie was so good.
• TRanger  - To me...
The definition of greatness on this site is being able to appeal to people who usually would have no interest in what you're describing.

I myself am not much of a music fan. Heck... I'm the only 23 year old I know who cares so little about listening to music I don't even own an IPod. However, despite not really liking music that much I fully enjoyed this video. That's the sign of GREATNESS!

Keep, keep, keep...
• kornguy26
i have to admit i did laugh at the pika pika thing although i honestly dident hear it
• DrKimble

Excellent work, sir. As a child of 79 myself these are very familiar songs I'm hearing, especially considering at the time my two teenage siblings were listening to this stuff 24/7.
I like your approach. It's informative, certainly nostalgic and you found a niche in "reviews". Plus, I think you're a very likable guy. Thumbs up!

Well, I feel a bit indifferent about this. Probably cause Ive been working on my own music show called "Audiophilez." Heres the logo I designed http:// fc28.deviantart.com/fs38/ f/2009/002/f/f/ Audiophilez_by_sonmanic.j pg

Im not sure what direction this show is going in, but mine basically involved reviewing albums from the 80s and 90s. So admin, if theres still room for another music guy, can I still audition?

Anyway, Full Circle definatly has potential and I look forward to seeing future episodes. Great job man!

I am not your trained monkey!
..occasionaly the background music overpowered what you were saying.
It's a tricky balance. It's all about the music of course, but I'd still like to get my points across. I think I learned from my mistakes in sessions 2 and 3.
MOAR PLEASE PAW, MOAR!! ;D
OK, but only because you asked so nicely.

Seriously though, thanks for checking out the vids and for the comments, they help in more ways than one. I have quite a few things planned for the future on top on the main series, but I like surprises so you'll have to wait a bit longer.

you rock and could introduce me to good little known metal or give me a list i may like... here's one for you: evergrey

I like it, because I love music. But 1 thing annoyes me a little bit: He speaks not loud enough through the music, so it's a little bit harder to listen to him, but you should keep him.

I say keep it! I have a passion for music/music trivia (my specialty being 60's to 90's rock, and heavy metal), and this vid was just awesome. I would love to see more from Paw.
