Love the fact that this film's suposed to be based on the book 'Howling II', yet has nothing to do with it.
Is it just me, or did Will look like Harry Potter for the first half of the movie?
Trying to work out how is more sadistic/masochistic - Bella, or Eliana. Either way, not people you'd like to be around.
Love the show, Lupa - keep up the good work!

It looks a 100Xs better than any of those Twilight movies! It doesn't make me want to kill tweens. It does make me want to punch an emo high-schooler or 2!
Is it me or does the lead look like the guy who played Harry Potter!?
The Alpha Werewolves in this movie look a lot like the Werewolves from the Underworld films! Like they just bought some of the costumes off that movie's set and changed it a little bit! Actually that sounds like something they'd do! I'm going with that!
Actually, no offince Loopa but your costume here made to look like a female Tommy Wi(however int the hell it's spelled!) must be because she's wearing the same wig as that character!
Yay, Brad is finnally getting to his ET porn reviews!!!
And Phelous without facial hair looks like John Wayne Gacy for some reason to me! No offince!
Also, that chase bit after the party in the movie looked like it was ripped off from An American Werewolf in Paris! And that is SAD!!!

Hilarious review, Alison. Aces. This looks like it may actually be worse than Twilight, but at least something HAPPENED in this movie, as opposed to Twilight. This probably won't get a sequel, but God help us all if it does.
Also, seriously, why does the pointless bully archetype still exist in media? Because he sure doesn't IRL. NOBODY in high school acts that way "just because". Sure, I have heard of isolated incidents of, say, nearly an entire school just pointing and laughing at someone, thereby bringing to the forefront the problems with the bystander effect, but someone just cutting you because you looked at their girl the wrong way... Unless we're talking REALLY in the ghetto, which this high school CLEARLY was not, it just does not happen.

Actually this movie is pretty cool = u = I liked it. And I hate Twilight. So it has nothing Twilight-ish to it. The werewolves are badass. The characters are believable, well, most of them. The mother's motivations are WTF-ish to me = 3 =
But the movie was pretty good. It's been a while since I saw a good Werewolf movie.
I was really pissed about the protagonist not knowing about werewolves. Seriously?! Seriously movie?!

I actually liked this movie. Sure, the horror part was kind of meh but the relationship part was really well done. If the characters in the Twilight series had this kind of chemistry, it would make the movies actually enjoyable.

Honestly I have to agree with you Lupa this movie just seems like a middle of the road kind of thing and if they had gone with the "We're going to kill ourselves with the rest of the werewolves for the sake of humanity, oh btw we're now in love because it's one of those things." then the movie would have at least been so bad it's good kind of movie. Also sequel bait? Ok sure, why not...I'm sure that was thought out somehow as a "giant were-wolf cult that plans on taking over the world" kind of thing but hey I'm glad we're being spared that kind of bs. Also that CGI Death Scene of the guy falling down? Priceless. Just...just priceless.

he's a young star, who's actually a very decent actor (when he speak french anyway ) over here, and is the muse of a young very pretentious film maker who's only 2 movies ended up at the Cannes Festival
as for how he ended up in the Howling, I have no clue.

10.31.2011 - 10:01 | jjlb84You didn't bring up the weird subplot about the dad giving him silver nitrate pills, the mom was all bitchy about how they were keeping him week, which seemed to imply the dad knew he was a werewolf from birth and it was odd how him ingesting it for 18 years didn't kill him but grinding a little into a bullet is insta-death.

LOL, funny review and the closing made me laugh till my sides hurt. "I'm you!" I would also like to say what a phenomenal job you have done, Lupa, in going through this series and making these entertaining reviews. The only thing I found disappointing with was the lack of a Naked Gun 33 1/2 finger hotdog ref. Anyway, Happy Halloween.

Geeze, this movie jumps around so fast I think I got whiplash...
Zombie werewolves, flamethrowers, it could have been good, but it's implausible and STUPID!
(Though the werewolf effects aren't bad... but maybe not referred to as such. Maybe as goblins or something?)

I knew there was a reference in the movie at some point even tho i was really tired when i watched it i was in a state of everything going black and then suddenly jolting awake. That ever happen to anyone else? There was something that was poisoning him but it wasn't intentional. See below

Its a medication for panic attacks and anxiety called Argentum nitricum which contains you guessed it (drum roll please)... silver nitrate!
Oh man i put way more thought into this movie than it deserves besides just to take a screen cap of it was near impossible because its only on the screen for a split second, talk about subtle! The night he went to that party i'm guessing he didn't take his meds when he got home so the transformation began the next morning.
I can't believe this much thought was put into this movie so it wouldn't have that plot hole.
I deserve a cookie.. or maybe severe blunt force trauma to the head for thinking about something in a movie like this so in depth.
Oh yea btw good review i'm kinda glad it didn't have an overly complicated storyline wrap up.

Nice ending. I was also thinking the same thing after your Howling 6 review. BTW, poor Checkers is having all sorts of pain this month.
