Yeah, the cat voice... Well, she probably couldn't afford to hire Danny John-Jules.
I want to like this woman and her films, and I do appreciate certain parts of them but I can't watch them more than once. I'm a little surprised that you got roasted in the comments for Me and You as I never felt that your review was actually mean spirited. Acerbic perhaps but not actually cruel.

Did you just apologize to hipsters for having an opinion!?
Wow Oan... You betrayed me! You're not good. You, you're just a chicken. Chip-chip-chip-chip- cheep-cheep.

Slamming a reviewer for having a negative opinion of you is really growth, isn't it?
No, really. At least, for you. Most reviewers seem to have a problem thinking too highly of themselves. You, on the other hand, seem to hard on yourself. This is the first time I've seen someone criticize you and you don't act like they must be right. You're actually standing up for yourself and your opinions.
As I told Lindsay, I have no problem with reviewers having problems with their own works. But don't change things because your fans tell you to. And, honestly, that's what it seems like you do.

I haven't seen The Future yet but I did saw Me and You and Everyone We Know and found it interesting if a bit on the pretentious side. Looking at Kyle's review one part of my brain was saying "We'll this could be considered the new face of underground avant garde like Alejandro Jodorowsky was in the 70s" while the other lobe was screaming "THIS IS HIPSTER CRAP!" Nevertheless I'll to see it one of these days. One must cherrish every spark of creativity (?) in these culturally void times when smut like 50 Shades of Gray is a best seller.
And Lupa...God God,woman...dat voice. :D

07.29.2012 - 04:43 | wwitzkeThank you for reviewing this. I hated this movie to my very core because I couldn't stop wanting to beat the ever-loving crap out of the characters. I thought perhaps they were made despicable on purpose and your confirmation that they were indeed written to be immature was somehow very cathartic.

07.29.2012 - 06:31 | timotakaSo this movie acknowledges the fact that adults acting like irresponsible teenagers has consequences. That puts it a notch above American Beauty in my book.

07.29.2012 - 07:38 | _cGI'm weirdly hung up on this: all I could think about during the "arguing with the moon" segment was Buzz Aldrin and Tina Fey yelling at the moon in a 2010 episode of "30 Rock," and Neil Armstrong telling the moon it had ruined his life in an SNL sketch from 2000 called "Neil Armstrong: The Ohio Years."

07.29.2012 - 09:18 | TooMuchFreeTimeDoes a cat with a broken foot really need to spend the entire time at the vet? Wouldn't the cast be enough?
Also, this kinda messed me up just now, made me remember what it looks like when the life leaves a cat's eye after the shot...she was already so tired...

But wow, can't believe they went after you on Me and You and Everyone we know. I rather liked your video there, and this one is just as good. Miranda July's style of movie just doesn't really appeal to me. It comes off as pretentious, stylized to a certain audience, yet in all that I do see some unique story and character development, which you showed me is quite the improvement over Me and You.
Sure it has it's audiences, they can be diehard when it comes to it, but it's exactly what Hipsters like, Underground.
You aren't shallow Oan, I see your work as quite inspiring and thought provoking, philosophical at many points....also Hilarious.
