Well, I fail. I watched this on blip and wrote up detailed comments as I watched it because I was that impressed...and now I can't find what I wrote. Oh well. I was VERY impressed by this and the amount of work that must have gone into it; both as a fan of this site and as a fan of Bowie. (I'm one of those people who gets...titchy at covers and adaptations of songs sometimes). And the cameos were fabulous. Round of applause, again, I can only imagine how hard this was to pull off as well as you did.

Loved the collaboration with Lupa, Todd, Lindsay and JewWario.
Doing a review entirely in song is pretty cool and it certainly fits a David Bowie movie. It must have been a lot of work. Your singing is quite good, too. Unfortunately, IMO the review of the movie itself is one of your weakest. It is basically just a recap and it doesn't have the same level of humor and spot on observations as your other reviews. It still was very entertaining, and it is always nice to see something fresh.

Edit: Yay, I'm not the only one posting now I don't have to feel so creepy *laughs*.
Having watched it again now I remember some of what I was going to say before. For one ok - yep anyone who's watched enough of your show has probably noticed you have a great singing voice. But I've known singers before, just because you have the voice for it doesn't make it easy. Then add in the effort in getting your lyrics to flow with the song *and* create a coherant review. Plus the "normal" effort just to put together the script, video and clips. This is why I give such kudos; all that together had to take time and effort.
And if I can lose the logical part of me for a moment....I do love the Dance Magic bit specifically. I know, I know, it's a running joke on the site anyway. But even before I found this site it was a joke in my group of friends, too. I have fond memories of random drunk people walking into a room where a party was happening and announcing out of nowhere "You remind me of the babe!" And yes...we would continue it. Every time.

I went through such a Bowie phase a few years ago. I actually spent my entire English class wondering how many Bowie essays and such I could write without giving my teacher an aneurysm. I think it was something like 5. My teacher was a fan though, so no harm done.
I love how you did this review. I almost fell over at GUN SEX! And the Heroes parody was brilliant. You have a lovely singing voice, Oancitizen. :)

I know nothing about this movie and i don't care, this video was awesome. The amount of work that must have gone into it combined with getting the footage from the cameos must have been enormous. But the final product was well worth it. I actually don't usually know any of the movies Oancitizen reviews but efforts like this have quickly made him one of my favorite new producer on the site. Keep up the great work good sir.

I've said this before, but this video is amazing! It makes me wish that next year anniversary be a musical and you play the part of the demanding music director. Nostalgia critic could be the producer, Todd the phantom, Phelous the lead star and Lupa and NChick switching as the female interest.
Well, that won't happen but it could be funny.
Anyway. Incredible review!

That was, unbelievable. I went back and watched all your vids on reviewtopia when you came on tgwtg, but this was crazy. The editing was great. I've been pretty obsessed with the site for a bit over two years. But you are defiantly my new favorite reviewer. The work that went into this must have been insane. Just keep being awesome.

I can't believe you actually did the entire review in song. After the 3-5 minute mark I was convinced you wouldn't continue the gag. I was laughably wrong.
I loved this. You do little things in your reviews which keep things fresh, and you well use your cameos. I'm enjoying this, I really am. I will probably NEVER watch a single film you review, but the reviews are entertaining - which is of course why I'm here.
And I love seeing Jewreth show up :D

Keiji, mate, you might want to try cleaning your ears out, this seems to be a problem only you have :p
Oan, this was fantastic! Your singing is top-notch and the amount of detail you could go into about the movie, and making me laugh till I ached, while all in song was just superb!
This is why you're one of my top 'must-watch' reviewers ;)

-
07.18.2011 - 01:24 | Joben@ Keiji, do you really not think a review of a David Bowie movie, done entirely in spoofs of David Bowie songs is clever?

actually I also had, in some parts, a hard time understanding, but thats mainly because english its not my mother language and hearing it in some faster rithims its hard.
However, overal I could understand pretty much everything he said, and the work put into this review is admirable, Oancitizen its one pf my favorite reviewers since I saw he´s review of "shortbus" on reviewtopia, and actually is review and insigths on "naked lunch" helped me to understand the movie better, wich was very important because I mention it on my interview to the Portugal Superior School of Cinema.
So thank you Kyle you are a God among man
