11.28.2011 - 18:19 | GweskoyenI wonder why people put unnecessary quotation marks on words. This is clearly a video, so their usefulness eludes me here.

Wow, I was a Theater Major, and I never thought I'd hear anyone ever mention Brecht outside of college! I like that you explored this subject, although I don't agree with a direct 1-to-1 comparison of the two figures as though they are interchangeable. While there is definitely intelligent content in the Muppets, as they have always been written to appeal to a live audience, if you look at the whole of their work, it is clear that the two artists' ultimate intents were far different.
I suppose you are comparing more of the presentation and theatrical formats more than anything else. The video is simply too short and should have developed its ideas more. That being said, it's great to see content like this on Channel Awesome! More please!

11.27.2011 - 06:20 | LasiusWe had to read several of his works in school and I visited his house in Buckow and his grave. My favourite is still "Fear and Misery of the Third Reich" though. A great read.
Also I don't get why most people pronounce his name wrong when the sound even exists in the English language. The ch in "Brecht" is pronounced like the h in huge or hue.

And we have to add that on the same fashion The Muppets' concept borrows some ideas from other performances, new generations subsequently made similar potrayals homaging both Jim Henson's creation and Brecht's. One way or the other and even without these references you as a fan can't deny or underapreciate how clever these puppets are even nowadays.
