Nash I enjoy these a lot but can you make the difference in volumes a bit less severe? It's not as enjoyable when you can't really hear what you're commentating over. Not a lot just a tiny bit would make it perfect. Otherwise good work as usual.
Also don't feel bad about the oven story some things like that just aren't funny but you know what? That totally fucking was and since the kid is ok its not that terrible really. Plus didn't the bitch mom go to jail or some shit? Good fucking job.

I have this problem with almost every reviewer on this site; you have to keep turning the volume up & down, up & down between the actual review & the clips.

Actually, it wouldn't be that difficult to fix: a compressor/limiter. While syncing audio, just run the audio through a compressor/limiter, so that overall audio levels match. You can even set the compression amount, so that the overall product still has some dynamic range, but isn't overwhelmingly loud or quiet at any given point. Most audio software either has this feature, or will allow for simple plug-ins to provide this effect.

You know what would be really cool? Turn it up in the right speaker, and keep your voice mostly in the left speaker. That would match up with the visuals.
@Linka: that's a different problem, but I agree it's annoying. You've got to match audio levels for clips.
The problem here is figuring out how to be loud enough that you can hear it, but quiet enough that you can understand the commentary. My suggestion above should help with that problem, and as a bonus, people can mess with their speaker balance to make it match where they need it.
(You can also try running it through an equalizer that pumps up the treble and cuts out the bass. That's how videos in videos sound on TV, and the bass is what interferes the most.)

I didn't think the Dune clip ran too long at all. Could have something to do with the fact that I never saw Dune, but still, 20 seconds doesn't exactly strain the ol' attention span.

04.16.2011 - 10:47 | KariI think it's a good thing the infamous story choice happened, because while I couldn't laugh at that story or the accompanying skit, some people evidently could, and while I thought it was more sad than anything, I didn't want to write an angry email berating you for your complete lack of class, or anything. So that's probably a good standard to go by. (Also, one of my major berzerk buttons is people failing to "pick on someone their own size." If children, animals, or the elderly are involved, we will have words.)
I'm actually really glad to see anyone realizing there IS a limit on funny.

Thanks for the advice on video making. I've been wanting to start my own videos, but I have no idea how to start (plus I'm terrible on camera, kind of a problem) so it's good to hear this: expect that parts about money (I am hard up) but I guess sometimes the truth hurts.

All i have to say is that the prediction of the end of the world in 2012, was based off the I-ching aka dropping three coins on a table. advanced, i know.
also the lemming isn't a suicidal creature, the nature film producers just scared them into doing it and filmed it. so suicide and murder is actually a human nature. one we never discuss and hide with other bullshit because we're to ashamed to admit it.
shame is the worst feeling. one of guilt and vexation. murderer in prison type shit.

04.16.2011 - 12:55 | spade75i wish people would go to schools and talk to kids about suicide and tendencies. and why life isn't bad and how to deal with depression. keeping in mind 60% of suicides involve people with depression and that suicide is the second leading cause of death. so lets count, every half an hour a murder happens in america. so if the suicide rate and natural causes rate is higher...lets think.
oh yeah, don't forget those good old cigarettes and drug use. i swear i've seen a million presentations about vandalism and eating disorders in schools. but its all the same shit. also remember most of the school shootings end with suicide and heavy drug use causes brain damage.

then keep in mind there is no "anti-suicide gang" thats going to try and stop you. i sure wonder why.
the parents are never home and always working. so kids don't know what love is, and cant depend on anything but money for the feeling of security and growth. no one ever talks about there childhood, even though your financial past is the key to your financial future.
