FIRST!!! Sorry, this is the only time I've ever been able to do that anywhere.

I'm curious, what are you getting out of saying first?

I've never understood this whole First! thing.
  • guilmon182

Nothing really. I've just always wanted to do it.

Translation: "I didn't get in first myself so now I'm going to cry myself to sleep"
  • EarthboundXE

If that was made in comment to me Freako, no, I really don't understand this First! thing.

Obviously if your comment is made first, everyone already knows it's first, so what does saying first even do?

And why would you even make a comment at all if all your gonna say is that you are first?

I have wondered who starting it though. I wanna say it started around 2006-2007?

Or maybe cold logic doesn't work for this topic? I guess from a psychological view, the people who say first could be lonely or something, and really want attention?

Even guilmon182 himself/herself doesn't know why they wanted to say first, no free will?

I don't mean to insult guilmon182, but I tend to think about things in a psychological way quite a bit.

Simple: he gets to look like a fool who commented BEFORE watching the video, for the sole purpose of irritating the other people who read the comments.

I understand--I did it once myself. Please try to refrain from now on, however, especially on TGWTG since the first comment remains on top.

Yeesh! Sorry everyone. I didn't mean to offend or ruffle any feathers. Just trying out an extremely outdated meme that I never got to do before. I was up late when this video was posted, I like MikeJ's stuff, saw that no one had commented yet, and decided to do it. Sorry, I'll never do it again.

I am so sorry to admit it... but I actually like this movie. I don't if I imprinted on it because I watched it all the time while I was a kid or what, but it has a certain nostalgic value to it that I just can't get over. And there's Mila Kunis. She always helps.
  • Fan01  - At The End
Calm down. You seemed really uncomfortable.

Good luck with the movie. I wish I could donate, but I'm a college student, and basically that means I'm broke.
  • Shark-Demon  - Definitely one of the weakest point in the franchi

4:29 I think this is what the idea was supposed to be: it's been a few years since Morranis had used the shrink ray. So he wasn't really sure it could still work. This might have worked if the writers' had given a hint to the ray having any glitches or ware and tear before he thought of doing the experiment.
  • Gray Morality  - Movie
I wish you luck with the movie. If I manage to get some extra funds together (I'm sadly completely broke at the moment) I'll donate as I'm excited to see this movie.

Also, hilarious review, as always. I remember liking this when I was a kid but I had some issues with it even then (unconscious kid eating a banana and the different actors)
  • Gray Morality  - Movie
Ok, I decided I could spare a little bit of money. I guess I'm a Padawan now. Sounds like a funny movie, good luck

No real movie is made with the money already in hand. You always shop it around to get funding.

It's SOP for all movies today.
  • Cinnamon Scudworth

It definitely suffered from the lower budget, not to mention the kiddier writing. The original is still one of the most entertaining family films ever made, and all of the epic feel from it is lost here.

The TV show would have worse problems....
  • ladydiskette
    avatar
I think I recall watching the tv show, it wasn't entirely as bad as this movie. There were some good moments and the family's scientific dynamic did make for some descent storyline episodes.

HOLY SHIT! I didn't know Mila Kunis was in this movie!?!?! o.o

Didn't care for 2 or 3, as I can't stand children. Even when I was a kid I hated kids & their godawful squeaky voices.

Sorry Mike, no job or bank. Got a fistfull of internet personalities I'd liked to have donated to; seems everyone has been planing something huge these past few months. All I can give you is my promise to watch it & have someone else buy me a DVD if I like it.

I remember this movie from when I was younger... I actually far more tolerable than the second one.... But that could be just because I liked the shrinking effects rather than gigantic ones.
  • Lotus Prince
    avatar
I agree. I watched the second movie only once, to my memory, but I enjoyed this third one more, corny though it may be.
  • Nick4x
Good luck with the movie. Currently, I'm unable to donate, but things may change. If I can, I'll throw some your way. Here's my best advice, though: look for a sponsor. The bigger name, the better (sometimes).

Also, you looked very sheepish asking for donations. If you show more confidence when asking for such things, we'll feel more confidence to give. (Sorry if that was rude of me...)

I have surprisingly little to say about this series as a whole. Good luck with your movie though and I hope you make your donation goal!

Btw, is it just me or was the video clarity in your early reviews better than they are now? Forgive me if I haven't kept up.

when you started talking about the donations for the movie, i thought you were just someone jumping on the bandwagon and bashing james rolfe.

I really love your understated reviewing style. Some great jokes in this review, just one thing I disagree with you on: I really think asking before kissing someone should be encouraged, and I don't think there's any reason that it should kill the romantic mood. Kissing is an intimate activity and I know from experience that having someone's face randomly shoved in yours without warning is a nasty experience. Now THAT'S the way to kill the mood! So yeah, the girl telling him he should have asked first was, to me, the only thing that actually looked good about this movie!

Good luck with your movie, btw.

i totally forgot i even saw this movie until you reviewd it think saw it on disney channel the tv seris was pretty awful too
  • Juen25
I just wanted to point out that when someone does not want to be kissed then they do not want to be kissed. Consent doesn't come just in the form of asking but in situations like in the film it should. There are times when you can tell that someone wants to be kissed, their consent can be read in body language and other visual cues. If you're just talking in a kitchen with a stranger and then that person attempts to kiss you that in no way signals consent. It wouldn't have been romantic to begin with.
I love your reviews but I was uncomfortable with how you alluded to the idea that romantic gestures like kisses that take you slightly off guard are equal to being touched against your will.

I remember catching "honey I blew up the baby" on tv a long, long time ago. I actually though that it was the original movie, but I never looked into the series.

Good luck with your movie project! :D

    Water. Water. Water. Water. Water.

Long legs. Scary. I never even realized alot of these sequels existed. :|

    You should drink water.

Is it really too much work to equalize your sound? It goes from loud in one scene to quiet in the other.

I think the bully character was punished enough by having a hair style more girly than the girls in the movie.

    MAJOR MISSED OPPURTUNITY.

I rememebr this film, watching it at an age before you realize what constitutes a good film with good writing, and the one thing that ALWAYS stuck in my mind was when Gordon addressed the children he specifically identified himself as God. That's how he drove them out...because being the white suburban class kids that these straight edged freaks are, the only authority they would listen to without fail, however irrational it might be, is that of the Christian God. It was the moment I was waiting for you to address the most in your review...but you just flew right past it.

I find it odd that you'd fail to mention something that by anyone's standards would be considered offensive, let alone one done by writers employed by the Disney corporation. Why leave it out? It just seems like the deliberate ommission of a fact that not only would explains one of your criticisms (even only to a miniscule degree), but more importantly is fucking hilarious.

I can't watch this. The sound quality of the reviewer dips too much during the movie clips.

You know, I'm really interested in becoming a "son of Adam", I just need to check my funds. May not be able to do it right away, but I'll book mark the page a remind me to do it eventually.

As for other ways I can help, I don't think there is much. If you're looking for any voice only rolls though, I'll apply, but my skills are in radio production otherwise.

Oh yeah, there was a review in this video wasn't there? Pretty good Mike, but not your best. Felt like it was made to bring attention to your other project. I will say that the audio is greatly improved, and I did like the hilariousness of the "wild kids" :P
  • ClockworkDoc  - Thanks!
You are one of my favorite contributors. I really appreciate you taking the time to create this for us!

Lol, I already forgot who Chris Crocker is. Had to look it up.

Anyway, looking forward to your movie. When you said that you want to do a festival circuit I thought to myself you're deluding yourself, but then I remembered that Primer was made on a similar budget. So best of luck!

P.S. What are you shooting on?
