Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Special Editions... but at least you can still watch the theatrical versions (mostly) on DVD. I wish I could say the same for E.T. Anyway, I just watched a movie I didn't know existed until today. It was called More American Graffiti, and I actually really liked it. George Lucas was only a producer, but it gave almost a scary realism of the fates of the original American Graffiti characters.

09.24.2010 - 23:25 | phantom000Yeah a lot of the new stop in the SE just felt like 'Hey look at what we can do with these fancy CGI things!' which would be bad enough but old man Lucas just says 'i love these people who think a puppet is real but when it's CGI it's fake, hehe'
Hell of a way to endear yourself to your audience George.

09.24.2010 - 23:44 | Fuery87Actually Sebastian Shaw played both the unmasked Vader and force ghost Anakin in the original version. So he hasn't been entirely erased from the film...yet.

I miss listening to your voice for more than a couple minutes. It's not long enough to get my jolli-, I mean it's not enough time to truly enjoy your presence in the videos.
Mmmyes...

09.25.2010 - 02:38 | SayaCelineI actually didn't care for Star Wars as a kid but when I watched it as an adult I really enjoyed it. I also found the Ewoks adorable and funny.

09.25.2010 - 03:44 | RDWell, to be fair, when I was a kid, I was a bit confused as to who that guy next to Anakin and Obi Wan was. So I don't really mind that they put Hayden in. The only SE change I feel the film could do without is the dancing, but hey, who doesn't.
As for Jar Jar...how we know that's not some random Gungan? Oh well.
In regards to the Ewoks, they're actually vicious little badasses when you think about it--they tried to kill the heroes! Plus, they're very strong, as they can lift up huge logs and throw big stones like they're paper-machie props. Given as they also seemingly outnumbered the stormtroopers 50 to 1, no wonder they won. At least Lucas showed the Empire winning for a bit before Chewbacca blew up the AT-STs.
Good job on this--much better than your last two.

Still a great franise, despite the mighty force kick from Luke. Next year we will see more missing scenes from the archive.

I just realized something, Jar Jar to even be in the new ending of ROTJ is inconsistent to Cannon, If you searched on youtube or Played the PS3/360 versions of The Force Unleashed is in one of the levels you see Jar Jar frozen in Carbonite and as we know the Forced Unleashed is Cannon to the Main Saga...thats an even wtf to add and yes I owned the original VHS's(The original boxed set and the re-released VHS Boxes and of course the DVDs and I think either my parents had the Original Box Set originally or got it at a pawn shop when I was a kid)Yes I liked some stuff they added but I was mad when they added Hayden and removed the other guy thats all ready an insult to David Prowse supposed to be in the Vader Suit for the last of ROTJ and at last minute was changed.

09.25.2010 - 05:27 | Lamb79well, I have to say F**k you George Lucas.
The reason I'm saying that is because the limited editions of the original trilogy. It contains all three movies but the original (unaltered) versions HAVE NOT BEEN REMASTERED as far as picture and sound quality goes. That was the only reason I bought them, spent money on them. I want the old, unaltered SW, not these re-imagined things.

Jar Jar? Noooooooooo!!!
Oh, come on! Never heard of the dreaded "Force Kick" ^^ ?!
I really don't like seeing Hayden as Vader's ghost. It doesn't make sense that his ghost didn't age.
You may be saying "It's because that's how he looked like before turning evil". But why would the afterlife reward you for spending most of your life as an evil dictator's right hand? Why choose the body you had when you where a whiny idiot constantly bitching about his Master and the Jedi Council? And why in the hell should Luke know that this young moron is supposed to be his father?
Oh, and George added the beak to the Sarlacc because the original design "didn't look like it's alife". Aparently, he thinks we're idiots...
And the weird part about the Ewoks is that they managed to defeat the Emperor's ELITE TROOPS.
(Why the hell didn't they just bombard the damn planet from Orbit if those teddy bears are so damn strong?)

That's the thing--why do we assume that they were a 'finest legion' just because the Emperor said so? He lies all the fucking time, and was probably just trying to scare Luke. Anyway, bombarding the planet would destroy the thing they were trying to protect, so that's a bad idea (plus they were busy with the space battle anyway). I mean, it's not unreasonable that the Empire dismissed them until it was too late.

So the bar scene is rather silly, but I think the celebration scenes at the end really tie in the six movies together. Seeing Hayden there is kinda stupid though.
You forgot how they changed Vader's eyes to match Hayden's as well

I have nothing against the Ewoks. They look great compared to the CGI nonsense at the beginning at Jabba's. Have you heard the original song at Jabba's, Lapti Nek? It's amazing, in comparison. And that terrifying CGI is no part of the visuals. I have it on my iPod.
I was so angry when I saw Hayden had been placed at the end like that. I always hated everything about his acting. I never really considered Anakin to be the one in Attack of the Clones or in Revenge of the Sith. I think of Anakin as those last few moments where he overthrew the Emperor.
While the original Ewok song at the end, Yub Nub, was a bit odd, it was better and more fitting than the overblown ending that shows shots of too many places.

09.25.2010 - 09:06 | starry66I really don't like when people hate on the Ewoks. I liked them as a kid, and I like them now. They had their own two movies, for crying out loud. The addition of Hayden Christiansen at the end was absolutely ridiculous.
