Personally, I think the series would be better served without Paul Walker. Not so much the actor, I've seen him put out a good performance when he's not being hired for his looks, but the character he plays is just idiotic and annoying.

Also, for me, the third movie was the best in the series. I know people will disagree with that, but I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than any of the others in the series.

I saw the original and compared to the sequel it was much better...I mean, Vin Disel was so great in it because......because....

*flashbacks to the scene where his character and the girlfriend are getting hot and heavy at the chop shop and it shows a scene of his bare-naked chest*

Um, excause me what were we talking about again? o.o

The Joel Schumacher line literally made me lol. Saw Batman Forever recently... man, it hurts the eyes...

Haha, does any one else think "INNUENDO" could become a new repeated joke for this how?

What's up with the upside down camera shots in this movie? I noticed it a couple of times and they seemed rather pointless and disorientating.

Woman in a pink car WITH an anime computer display. Oh yeah, she looks so tough... "GRRRR!"

By the way, which review is the woman with the weather graphics covering her nudity from? Its the only one I don't seem to remember...

I believe it's from The Ugly Truth...great review of a fucking awful looking movie.

Well, as bad as the sequel is...it can't be any lamer than Tom and Jerry's "The Fast and the Furriest". Worst rip-off of the whole Fast and Furious frantise ever!

I had kids at my high school who loved these sorts of movies, one of whom was my best friend, and they would not shut up about it.

haha you made fun of poor devon aoki's acting while i don't really like her in any movie besides DOA i believe she was only in this one at the time as eye candy being that she was the biggest asian US model at the time of filming. When you said she acted as bad as she looked tho were you referring to her being unattractive or just wearing dumb attire caz if you were saying shes unattractive go watch DOA shes gorgeous in that and i dare you to watch the scene where she's walking on the windmill without falling in love
  • GoldenSolitude04
    avatar
Oh God why did you have to bring up that movie again. I have been trying my best to ignore its existence.

She may have been attractive there but she couldn't fill Kasumi's bra.

I had no idea she was in 2 Fast 2 Furious. I did see it quite some ago and I only liked since I have only seen that one and the 3rd one.

It's a lot more fun playing Need For Speed than sitting through these movies again.

Makes me wonder who on this site will review the DOA movie first.

Seems like the kind movie either Matt or Phelous would review.

As long as the tits and asses jokes are kept to a minimum. I get really annoyed when people think that all DOA has to offer is the women and the sex appeal, ignoring the men, gameplay, and fighting.

This kind of ignorant attitude prevents the games from being taken seriously.

As long as it is not Benzaie or Maser Bate that covers it,I do not really care who does it.

I remember seeing this and being surprised they were going to continue on with the series. I'm surprised that none of them came back for Tokyo Drift, yet they all joined up for Fast and 4ious plus now the fifth one coming out. It's a series that just doesn't know when to give it up

Vin Diesel made a cameo in the third in a little clip played during the credits as a teaser for the fourth.

    A few other thoughts

    1. Mathew would have no reason to know this, but Miami is pretty much the southern terminus of I-95. Sure, you could keep going, but it's not a major highway much longer. Heck, there's not much land left going south in Miami. Markham shouldn't have been so suspicious with them going southbound. Also, once Markham saw that they stopped at an impound lot, he shouldn't have been so suspicious.

    2. Cole Hauser is even more a terrible actor than Mathew made him out to be. He's done very little of interest and comes off as a growling mute throughout the movie.

    3. The second race scene is even bigger joke than Mathew made it out to be since Brian held onto the Nitro for about ten seconds, when using it for more than five seconds is pretty much guaranteed to blow up your engine.

    4. In the highway scene Mathew points out the gray Corvette slamming into the remains of the red Mustang. What he doesn't mention is that was not planned and that the crash was legit. But since the stunt driver walked away unharmed, the director added it in, anyway.

I enjoy 2F2F because it's still a lot of fun, but it's clearly a really stupid movie. Unfortunately, they turn the suck way up with Tokyo Drift, which really deserves to be beaten down by Mathew.

sad to say FB, but glow in the dark racing cars are the norm here in Miami.
  • LikaLaruku

That immediately makes me think of cats watching glow in the dark balls spin around in a clear tire shaped plastic tube.

The Batman Begins cop is also one of the main guys in Sons Of Anarchy its sad to see a good actor in such a shit movie.

Loved the ejector seat joke by the way.

I still agree with what James Rolfe said in "You Know What's Bull$h!t" that the 4th film should have ben titled "The Fast and the 4rious." BTW, I have no interest in seeing any of the Fast and Furious films. I'm more into movies about cars that transform into robots.

4:22- Nion lit vehicles mostly work in films like "Tron" and "Tron: Legacy."

The CGI Zone. Another dimention. Not of site or sound, but of uncreative creativeness.

Nice job on the clip from "Goldfinger."

19:19- Actually, it's like watching "Batman & Robin." That film had more neon that "Forever."

Tyrese Gibson's character ruined any enjoyment I might've gotten from this movie (not to say it was going to be all that much better without him). His character was SO annoying and stupid which is a shame because I think he did really good in Baby Boy.

And for a movie that's supposed to be about high adrenaline and speed, it was so..."low-octane" to put it mildly.

You sure do have quite an opinion, good thing I don't give 2 shits about what you say.

And since you don't give to shits you felt the need to comment why? Ahh, to bitch because he criticised a movie you like? Gotcha!

This movie is one long series of suspension of disbelief fails after another.

More like "2 Long 2 Boring Us."

This was a weak film in the Fast & Furious series.

I mean, the driving scenes are fun, but the rest of it is nothing but talk and stereotypical Miami cliches that are so boring.

Atleast the first has good action scenes to make up for it.

Sadly alot of people decorate their cars in the manner you see in these films. It's called Ricing or Rice. The neon lighting you see on those cars are illegal in some states and you would get pulled over real quick for having them. Not a good choice for someone on the lamb, plus they add weight and slows down the cars. Also a convertible is a poor choice for racing since they are weaker, more prone to flexing, and are heavier than a normal hard top car. These films are just so stupid, as Flim Brain said real gear heads would just shake their heads at these films.

Is that a green screen @ 6:39? How could anyone miss this?

    And yay for piss-breaks!

I almost choked on my laughter at the innuendo jokes. Just that finger motion, it really got me giggling.

I really don't get the appeal here. Fine, first movie can appeal if your a gearhead. This movie will only piss you off if your one.
  • Buick Runner
    avatar
Alot of the classic car gear heads hate these films, however many Ricers love the F&F films. In real life a race car wouldn't have fancy neon lighting, sound systems, or gadgets like video games and anime screens. A real race car would be stripped down to save weight, heating, A/C, safety systems, low emission systems, sound systems, and back seats would be removed. Also those big rear spoilers, (the big wings on their trunk lids) only work on rear wheel drive cars. Rear spoilers just hinder performance for front wheel drive cars which is what they mostly drove in the film.

When I was in the Navy, the other guys in the barracks would watch the first one at least twice every day. I quickly learned to hate the entire idea behind these movies. Any chance you will review the rest of them? I'd love to see the whole run get the FB treatment.
  • KainGerc
hey at least Tokyo drift had more focused on actual street racing (even though it was an even more boring film than this one).
  • Shocksuspect  - Still an enjoyable movie...
    avatar
Nice review Film Brain, but I think you're over-analyzing a movie that was intended to be mindless-fun. Yeah sure there's a lot to complain about, but the fast and the furious movies are actually really enjoyable if you just switch your brain off for a couple of hours. I guess these kind of films aren't for you.
  • M.A.D.MikE[ATF]
    avatar
What you said. My only beef with the second FF is the absence of Vin Diesel But apart from that, it's just mindless fun, no need to analyze it :)
  • RectilinearPropagation
    avatar
It's only over analyzing if their target audience isn't supposed to know anything about street racing.

It's like how some medical professionals say they can't watch shows like House and some law enforcement professionals don't like shows like CSI. Anyone who knows about it won't have to analyze it; they'll just know that it's wrong. To them it'll be obvious.
  • SaitoBatch  - As bad as this movie series is...
I'll never be able to say it's the worse movie ever made. I suffered through The Mist.
  • Rurik
    avatar
While a lot of things in the movie make no sense, Not Vin Diesel firing on the cops actually does. They're supposed to be undercover, firing on the cops is a good way to maintain said cover in the event Generic Drug Runner happens to find out about that little confrontation. Now the cops confronting them in the first place, that makes no damn sense.
