01.22.2010 - 13:07 | LimecatI saw this in theaters! Being a 12 year old kid, I loved everything I saw (hell I even liked the Resident Evil movie as a kid, and I know that it sucks). But I don't remember this movie being terrible enough to warrant a beatdown. I mean, this is in no way comparable to Beverly Hills Cop 3 or Steven Seagal.
EDIT: Scratch that, this movie IS terrible. But the time machine itself is fantastic. Wonder why they didn't just go with CGI. Would have saved them a lot of money.

That's not how Leaping works!!
And if you were going to do the leap, you should have at least done the "Oh boy."

10.01.2009 - 21:28 | alazryeah this was just an okay movie. In fact the only reason I watched this movie in the first place was, because they did some of the filming in my city(schenectady). In fact they park they used was right next to my middle school.

I was seriously wondering that, myself. I was waiting for something about either Batman with a time machine, or simply Batman with a dead girlfriend instead of dead parents.
Also, why the hell did the character keep going into the future, increasing his distance exponentially? Try saving your girlfriend again so you don't go insane!

A lot of things irked me about this movie but one I remembered when I watched your awesome beatdown was that the Moon would have coalesced back into itself as I doubt the rocks were in the Earth-Moon Lagrangian points L4 and L5 and even then they're not big enough to handle large rocks. Also it must have been a TREMENDOUS amount of energy released to do that to the Moon. But I digest. Still a crappy movie which needed more jigowatts to make it better.

I would have to agree with you on that part. It did have some moments, but still I guess it is best to stick to the book rather than go off and do what you feel like. Shame about the directorial switch. Wells propably had something better in mind than Gore. Also, it changes the tone of the feature as mentioned. All I can say is it's not the best, but it's modest. (Note: Decent is better than modest. Modest is half and half, while decent in my dictionary is the equivalincy of good.)

10.01.2009 - 22:09 | TheGodEmperorI always loved the book, I want a new good adaptation of the movie lol, oh well, old one's still great. But I do agree, that one line from uber morloc was great.

This film was so bad, they couldnt even come up with a decent tagline for the poster. "Where Would You Go?" No one even rubbed two brain cells together to make it "When Would You Go?" like it should've been.
Another excellent review FB. What a travesty, considering the brilliance of the source material.

Good episode. But I disagree about one thing. I don't really see the resemblence between the Uber Morloc and the Borg Queen. That is to say, i don't think that the film makers were ripping off First Contact.
This could have been funnier, there were a lot of missed opprotunities for jokes, but I nit pick.
:D

Back when I first saw this movie I thought it was bad and back then I didn't even know that it was an "adaptation" of a book.
One thing I noticed now is that in this movie the Über-Morlock looks A LOT like a certain Kain from the Legacy of Kain games. Don't believe me? See it for yourself.

Hell, take off the brain thingy off his back, give him a sword and VAE VICTUS! You got Kain. :silly:
Also, what is the song he uses in the intro?
