My personal favorite is where Mister Burns lures the Simpsons to his mansion in... PENNSYLVANIA!
Oh, and Time And Punishment. Remember the great advice Homer's father gave to him on his wedding day? "If you travel back in time, don't step on anything!"
Mister Burns: That's strange... the blood usually gets off at the second floor.

That line by Mr. Burns was probably my third favorite line in the episode, after the classic "go crazy" line and Marge's line that CR talked about. I don't know why, but I just always got a bigger chuckle out of that line than most of the other similar ones.
Good list CR. I remember watching a good amount of these, even though I wasn't the hugest fan of The Simpsons. They were often some of the best episodes, so I had to catch as many as I could. While I'm not sure I'd say your three favorites are my three favorites, but I definetely remember watching them and enjoying them.

I was really hoping someone on Channel Awesome would cover the Simpsons Halloween specials sometime and I'm happy that you stepped up to the plate CR and trust me, you delivered.
I kinda saw #1 coming since it always seems to come out on top on everyone's favorite Halloween episode lists. I can't really disagree since it is pretty entertaining even after all these years.
I'll never forget the very first time I saw #3 when I was a kid. Now that was eight minutes of sheer surreality that had everyone talking the day after on the playground.
Some of my own favorites I would have liked to have seen on the list...
-"Bart Simpson's Dracula"
-"Attack of the 50 Foot Eyesores"
-"Nightmare Cafeteria" (Now this is one that actually creeped me out as a kid and strangely enough, it wasn't because of that fog that turns people inside out.)
-"Night of the Dolphin" (Gloriously silly. Killer dolphins? How can it not?)
-"The Day The Earth Looked Stupid" (Probably one of my favorite segments from the recent years. A really clever concept with some great atmosphere and a genuinely eerie ending aided by some rather haunting music.)
Overall, I really can't complain about your choices and it's safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Am I the only person who started quoting the clips out loud. ;-P

It was both the fog and the blender part.
And the Day The Earth Looked Stupid segment(that's Where Springfield believes aliens are attacking, right?) always gave me a bad feeling at the end with the song "I don't want to set the world on fire".

This was a great list and enjoyed all of the episodes mentioned. However, I would have added the episode where the teachers and school faculty begin to kill and then eat the children, if only because that surprise ending has stuck in my mind as one of the most grotesque and awesome scene in Simpsons history!

You left out my favorite part of Dial Z for Zombie: The scene where Homer sacrifices himself... and the zombies didn't want him, that was the sole reason why I did a fanfic based around on it using characters from a different series last year (I did a follow up this year with the Devil and Homer Simpson)
I do agree with all of your choices, in fact me and my friends often quote stuff from those episodes.
Oh and nice use of Holiday Clusterfuck.

11.04.2010 - 23:59 | QueensNYC2021My fave is Time and Punishment. Ned turning everyone into lobotomized zombie versions of perfect people is just so creepy. And we had to watch the Raven in English, and Easy Bake Coven in History class!
Every time I see the Raven segment, I'm still amazed at Dan Castellenta's(probably spelled it wrong)anounceation of the poem to make it fit Homer's personality.

11.05.2010 - 01:07 | Seraphemwow..this was great, wish they would sell just a DVD collection of all the THoH's so far.
Only one I'm kinda disappointed didn't make the list was the Dracula one, i mean it was two of the greatest lines of all the Treehouses (After No TV and no beer....)
"Do I dare live out the American dream? Do I dare kill my boss?"
and
"Dad, you have to drive the stake through his heart, that's his crotch."

I HATE the Shining, so Obviously I don't care for the Shinning much. Though I admit it's better than that Stupid movie The Shining.
See I'm more of a "Misery" Stephan King fan.
Personally I find it saw you didn't have "The day the earth went Stupid." That one is such a classic especially it's source material :3

Good list..... I'm glad you went with alot of the classics.
Personally everything after season 9 is completely unwatchable with the exception of Tree House of Horrors.
THOH is a Halloween tradition.
Even though I refuse to watch any of the new Simpsons episodes (don't find them funny in the least bit anymore) I always make time to watch a new THOH.
Love The Raven though, one my personal favorites.

I agree, it just somehow feels right to have this the week after Halloween.
I kind of wished you mentioned the "Attack of the 60ft eyesores", but eh, to each his own.
And I know someone else will probably mention this, but my god, Marge has got some Baby Birthin' hips in that title card! 0_o6
