Love the video, CR! I really enjoyed how you took an often overlooked character and gave her a detailed analysis, which includes character design and development (two things I really love to analyze in a story).
Regarding the character thing at the end, I agree. All characters come from a basic structure of storytelling. You have the hero, the villain, the side kick, the villain's side kick, the comic relief and many other archetypes. Regardless of how original the story may be, the characters eventually will fall onto one of them.
The key thing here, however, is HOW the character is developed. You may start with a character with a basic storyline, but he or she will eventually become unique or memorable if you take the time to develop them well, which is the case with Miss Naegle (even if she is about as even as a wobbly table XB ).

Good episode, excellent ending, haha.
I always hated her because she embodied the corporate whore, heartless, businesswoman bitch. I didn't know she had a name.
But after seeing all the angles presented to me in your video, i can see her as a little bit more rounded, and slightly sympathetic...
But i always just sorta hated short hair on girls, doesn't appeal to me. And even Marge's hair up like that prevents her from being a sexual stimulus.
But the kiss was pretty sweet.
Hubba Hubba!

FOX donates heavily to the Republican parties, and most of that money goes to pay off the Right wing nutters on FOX NEWS to pander their bullshit, who also coincedentally make alot of fan fics on 99% of their shows. "No Spin" HAH, yeah and im the Gaw Dam Super Bat Saiya-Jin Ranger X.
FOX also has a reputation of having alot of shows that are intentionally meant to be vulgar/ crass/ violent/ sexual so they can be fined and the money goes to the FCC (Federal Censorship Commission) which also donates to Republicans.
Basically FOX shows "Left wing" shows to make alot of money for "Right wing" agendas in the United States.
The EXTREME example of this is Family Guy whose creator: Seth McFarland, is openly a Left wing Democrat...who makes a shet load of money for Fox and so on...

08.29.2010 - 13:59 | CaptainAndy27Oh like Republicans are the only people who do some dirty business by saying one thing and doing another, at least this is legal. Remember Acorn handing out loans to prostitution rings.

03.23.2011 - 14:47 | jjflashOh come on...MSNBC been doing the same shit for the Democrat cause. So as much as I don't like Fox, I also have to point out that the Liberal alternative is just as bad.
Of course, if I really wanted to throw around accusations about the Libs then I could talk all day:
-The Journolist incident
-The Oakland Vote Fraud Debacle
-The Seattle Union Bribery Scandal
..and that's just the pleasant stuff. I could get real gritty. But I think I've made my point.

I love your show and look forward to new installments every time I check out the site. And it's refreshing how you give us such interesting looks at often over-looked characters, especially Lindsey. And as a fanfiction writer, I totally get where you're coming from. Nicely done and keep up the good work. Maybe you could give Rescue Rangers a looksee next time?

08.29.2010 - 09:43 | DeltoraI don't think you know what ironic means and you used it a dozen times.
Still this episode is most relevant to the concept this series is going for. The past few episodes weren't exactly spotlighting obscure characters from nostalgic films.
I have a newfound respect for Lindsey.

Actually I understood what Chad meant when he talked about the irony in Lindsey's creation. In the first episode she appears in they are creating a character for Itchy and Scratchy in order to combat stagnant ratings. The Simpsons is guilty of this practice, adding new characters just to keep things fresh (for example, the fan created character they recently added to the cast), and Lindsey is no exception.
Regarding the irony of her telling the animators how to draw Poochy it is likely that when the writers and execs were writing Lindsey they kept tossing ideas as to how she should look. Basically, the show is making fun of a process very common when creating an animated TV show.
The irony about Poochy being killed off while Lindsey lives on is that Lindsey was likely at one point a one shot created to fulfill the intentions of the story and may be seen as a soulless character. So having Lindsey say that they should kill Poochy off is ironic if you consider the fact that she too could have faced the same fate as the character she killed off in the episode.

I think you forgot something, wasn't Lindsey Naegle a reporter in one episode where she almost died in a volcano? In that episode they mentioned her high school sweetheart was Barney. They even had 20 minutes of pity sex after he rescued her in a helicopter. Or am I thinking of someone else? Also, on the anti-kid episode, the people of springfield are extremely impulsive and short sighted, as most young unmarried people are, so that episode actually seemed pretty believable, at least as much as prop-8 was. "Yeah, lets vote on the rights of others, we can totally do that!"

08.29.2010 - 14:03 | CaptainAndy27No that wasn't Lindsay Naegle, that was a reporter friend of Marges. I think her name was Chloe Talbot.
