Great Familiar Faces, CR! Your observation on Lil'Orphan Orange was hysterical. I just had a great idea for a Familiar Faces episode (and I'm sure you don't get enough of these already). :snicker:
Anyway my request comes from Nickelodeon and somewhat like the Groovies they had these little shorts called "SNICK SNACKS"
One in particular was called
The Non-Adventures of Safety Queen. I don't know if you recall ever seeing these shorts, but if not here's a short description.
Safety Queen consisted of a little girl who felt compelled to help her town remain as safe as possible by donning a cape, helmet, gloves, and ride a pogo stick; going out into the town to help with any situation she deemed, "very unsafe."
The problem was that any of these "very unsafe" situations consisted of things like pulling off a band-aid or jumping from the high dive at a pool. She never really solved anything, but only blew everything out of proportion with her own theories. In the end the people she was warning wouldn't listen to her and do whatever they were doing anyway. However she would take the credit for solving the problem and go off into the sunset on her pogo stick (that was able to take her to the height of airplanes). Now why is she so great? B/c she, like any superhero took it upon herself to help the people of her community and care for their well-being. Safety Queen didn't want fame, glory, or wealth, their safety is all she needs.
Below is a video from Youtube displaying Safety Queen in action. All credit goes to the one who posted it. Thanks for listening.

Wow, talk about odd coincidence. I was at the store the other day and noticed a box of OtterPops on a shelf and just had to get them. Loved them growing up and still love them now.
I also think I had a similar moment once where I looked at the sad image of Orphan Orange and wonder why she was so unhappy. Though that moment was fleeting as I was 12 and had more important things to do on a summer's day.

07.11.2010 - 01:30 | Thumper17I just reached into my freezer for a "Freezie" as we Canadians call them. Not knowing what brand we had, pulled out an Otterpop, that's not all, it was an Orphan Orange.
Right on I say, right on!
EDIT: Also, here's someone else who shares your infatuation.
