He's not one to care. He's like a blood-gorged tick that will never be gone nor stopped until his IP is banned.

Would you just stop picking at that dork!

so the guy is an idiot, why all the hate?

Well, now he's just an average idiot, but in the beginning, he reached Gaia Online levels of idiocy.

It might be the time to let him be... I mean, there's no way to insult a guy that willingly insults himself:

I love your series CR. Keep up the good work.

Shorts are, in my opinion, becoming more neglected as we transition into a world of weekly series and full length films. Quite sad, considering that much of our modern ways of animation are thanks to the Golden Ages development of theatrical shorts (Chuck Jones is a GOD!) Kudos on giving this field some much needed attention.
However, I didn't find this "RiffTrax" idea to do much justice. RiffTrax's are used mostly for mocking or critisicing something, with that something being a selection that you feel is bad and deserves harsh treatment. And that's clearly NOT how you feel about this animation. The dialogue at the beginning and ending directly contrasts the tone during the actual short, making for a really polar entry.
Actually, doesn't TGWTG prohibit showing entire episodes/movies? It feels like you're bending the rules here, no matter how short the animation actually is. Plus, I really think it would be a wise idea to try using a different intro song for this segment, simply to give it more sustainability as its own entry.
On a good note, the commentary DID make me laugh at several points, just like a good RiffTrax always does. On an entertainment level, this wasn't half bad. It just really bothers me to use this style to feature the selection, coming off as really disjointed and not a respectable tribute at all. Needs some fine tuning in the future.

To be fair, a Rifftrax doesn't necessarily have to be about something bad, it's just goofing on something for the heck of it. That's why the official Rifftrax site includes masterpieces like Casablanca, for example.

Pretty sure there are legal things about not showing entire vids. However, shorts might be something different altogether since they aren't long enough to require advertising. Plus, this short was made in 1946 which means it might be in the realms of public domain.

I disagree Noah. While there aren't as many experienced or great animators getting recognized lately there are thousands of shorts not attached to any studio being made weekly popping up in all sorts of places such as You Tube, New Grounds, or even Private sites which tends to add to the obscurity of the Modern short.

I'd forgotten about "All the cats join in". ^^ I used to love watching this when it was on Disney.

And I'm surprised you didn't mention anything about all the nice little panty shots we got. >.>

I am glad to see a reposting of the familiar faces shorts because I was wondering where that was on this site. I saw it on your youtube account and got confused when it wasn't here. Anyway Disney is great for its short cartoons. I remember trying to wake up at 4 a.m. to try and see the Ink and Paint Club show on Disney that premiered some shorts. I was only able to catch it a few times and I am glad for it. Thank you for introducing this short because people need to know that Disney (while he was alive) was good in the cartoon department as well not just his animated films.

Again, I'd forgotten all about this, but seeing "All the Cats Join In" brings back this surprised nostalgic feelings. : )

And it's ironic that I was just watching the "shenanigans" clip right before this video. :3

Thanks for another fun trip back to the surprisingly good things we forget with all the new shows, cartoons, etc. Also, liked your smart-alec comedy throughout. "Aww, the child abuse is over?"
• Lottech96  - Disney FTW and Familar Shorts!!
That was awesome CR! Prolly one of the reasons to get home from and waiting to get to school....yeeeahh( I was learning shit!) was these Disney shorts. At times all the SYNs and WEEKams weren't on or over. and there was disney (before the "Playhouse" era. Great commentary too! Keep up the good work!!

Interesting, hadn't seen this gem in years. Liked this alot, hope to see more like this.

On an unrelated note, I like your artwork, and was wondering if you are going to do another series of Halloween women? I would like to see that.

2:20 perfect missed oppertunity for a Sam & Max joke.

"My little Amy Winehouse playset."

I remember this cartoon. I remember when Disney Channel was tollerable. Like in the 80s or something.

Was that an audio clip from "Waiting?"

4: 07 that prude is hot. She is wearing a sailor fuku like Sailor Moon.

5:33 It's Rosie the Riveter!

Great video as always. Keep up the great work. I will find that cake...
• Apathetic One  - CR FTW.
Ah, yes..when Disney was good. CR I think your videos are top notch and honestly some of the best this site has to offer.

I'm a huge fan of Disney shorts myself, namely the ones Pixar has done. When I was a kid I was given an old VHS with tons of classic Disney shorts on it, a few of which stuck with me to this day. Might I recommend 'Midnight In a Toy Store' , 'The Skeleton Dance' , 'Lambert The Sheepish Lion' and 'A Cowboy Needs a Horse'. All of these shorts are gems IMO and show Disney at their best.

Great material. you get funnier and more witty every time i watch you :3
Im not sure if this counts as a short ,but how about Bongo? [from fun and fancy free] i always thought the kinky domestic bear abuse was kinda odd,but the cartoon was still fun to watch

I'm shocked! Shocked by all that nudity.

I say those teenagers in the '40s must have started knifing and fucking each other remorselessly after seeing that bit of moral perversion.
• Karabaja  - NO CATS??
Hey, there are almost no cats in this short! I call shenanigans!
• Chessie
avatar
Why did they hint at having a cat only to erase it? Total shenanigans!
• Spokavriel
avatar
You just had to have someone else at the end of the clip say Shenanigans so that the comments wouldn't be full of

First poster
Senanigans First!

Second Poser
First
Edit: Darnit I wasn't really first Senanigans anyway!

I really like that clip but with the cats in the Musical Interlude art I always feel bad that the erased cat never makes a come back before the end of the short.

Are you going to get into the series of shorts with that Owl teaching about Music? It ended up reusing this short in one of its segments. Its what I consider a Disney Leach Short (Or short leacher) because everything fun in it is leaching from earlier greater works.

Man, if it weren't for cartoons like this, I would never appreciate old music.

Anyone remember the jazzed up version of the Three Little Pigs? That was a fun one :)
• vid3oman64
That was actually pretty funny! "Hah, dislocating her shoulder blade... crack, snap..." XD Very nicely done.

But, as someone else said, isn't showing this in it's entirety not allowed? Perhaps not covered under that one part of the glorious Fair Use Law? Ionno. Still well done.

HA! I love Super Troopers. Truly an underrated classic. I've never seen this short before. Eh, I was never that big a Disney kid. I pride myself on knowing Warner Bros ones though. Those I grew up with.

Another great episode.

But wait, on that intro card with the various character drawings, did I see Nami from One Piece toward the upper right hand corner? Is she going to be featured at some point?
• galactus177
hmm looking at the shorts at the beginning you have 1 character that i think is too new & too memorable* up there, Candace Flynn.
