01.30.2012 - 02:51 | tolchokTiny Lister? Before this video, the only time I put those words together would be in reference to the episode of Red Dwarf where Dave Lister gets turned into a miniature version of Robocop.

Roderick Kingsley is the Hobgoblin from the comics. He was a billionaire businessman in the perfume industry who was very connected to the mob.
after spidey showed up, his illegal business ventures became threatened so he became the Hobgoblin.
Kingsley is infinitely better than the animated series one, because of one reason: he is a Magnificent Bastard. He plots and sneaks and tricks and you never know what he's planning until too late.
I'd Geoffery Rush to play him. I know, an odd choice, but he's proven himself to be physically capable when he was in Pirates of the Carribean. Rush is capable of being both threatening and silly and could really fit this character's mold.

I actually have no problem with your casting choices. Although, Topher Grace would have been the perfect Peter Parker to me. And... dude, they won't recast those three actors as the same villains again. That makes no sense. So, that was a bit cheap of you to not say anything there.
Either way, interesting choices. A bit odd to think of Bruce Campbell as Mysterio, but... I suppose it could work.
Although, you DO realize this Spider-Man reboot and it's possible sequels will not be in canon with the three first movies, right? You talk like you don't know that.

I always felt Spidey had more in common with Nightwing then Batman. They both use a stylized form of acrobatic fighting, they both crack one-lines, and they both have connections to more superheroes then anyone else in their respective universe. Also just as spidey failed to save uncle Ben, Nightwing had the chance to prevent his parents death by telling his parents about Zucco, but failed to do so. Unlike batman who couldn't have done anything even if he tried.
Also Vulture was going to be Spidey 3 but the studio wouldn't allow it.

I think that Woody Harrelson is too old for the role of Venom. Venom needs to be relatively the same age as Spider-Man. I think maybe either Tom Welling or Michael Rosenbaum as Venom would be very good casting choices. Both actors have shown how dark and sadistic they can portray a role on Smallville (yes, Clark Kent has been sadistic, but it was while he was on some kind of kryptonite or some kryptonian alteration of the mind). And both actors have the physique to pull it off.

Very fun list, I agree with all of them except Woody I guess. I think that's just because I picture Venom being younger or the same age as Spiderman and after everything else I've seen Woody in I just have a really difficult time putting the Venom attire over his face. And no I don't really have a better choice, nor do I feel that 70s guy was a good choice. I'm almost picturing the actor who plays Venom similarly to how Heath took on the Joker, in that he looks and acts so different than you're used to that you have no idea who it actually is until you look at the credits, and I feel there are definitely actors out there who can pull that off who aren't just lesser known. Wish I could think of some names... :/

When they first started kicking around potential Spidey's, Topher Grace was actually my no.2 pick for spider-man, after Elijah Wood and BEFORE Toby.

01.30.2012 - 23:12 | Mr Athrilla ESQIf they do use Rhino, i hope its the post-gauntlet one. he went from mindless attack dog, to a man with nothing left to live for. I haven't felt that bad for a villain since the Batman TAS ver of Mr Freeze.

I'd switch Jackie Earl Haley and Jake Busey. I never saw Cletus Kasady as the big noisy kind of crazy, but as just pure concentrated violence and murderous intent distilled into human form which I think Haley could pull off in a much more frightening and intense way. On the flip side, even when being scary Busey comes off more to me as just some entitled scumbag which I think fits a lot more closely with Electro.
I guess one other thing I'm not sure I'm with you on your casting of Black Cat, not to say that Pressly isn't a good actress or hot, I'm just not sure she's hot enough, though to be fair I don't have a better idea of who should play her.
Other than that I'm totally with you. And Gerard Butler as Kraven.... such a perfect pairing, keep up the good work.
