Twilight has to be the worst fucken tripe since ...I can't even think of anything in recent 25 years that was worse...maybe Showgirls? In and Out? The January Man? No, I don't think Kevin Kline is a bad actor but good grief does he choose bad movies -- Wild Wild West...Vicious Creatures (ugh).
Anyways, I mean, even VC Andrews novels had some redeeming qualities in between the torture and incest. These are just...bad...bad...bad. I know if there is a hell...it will be a movie theater with me tied down Clock work orange style forced to endure the twlight saga for the rest of eternity. There haven't been any decent vampire ficks since Dusk Till Dawn or Blade 1. Okay, I liked Dracula: Dead and Loving it. I can't think anything else. Oh well...

I think the film-makers wanted to throw the pathetic anti-climactic canonical ending into sharp relief, by showing what a decent writer with the first idea of how to write a compelling narrative could do with the same material. There may also have been an element of "Look, see? We CAN write and shoot decent material! Please don't write us off just because we've got a Twilight film on our CVs! And now back to your regularly scheduled risk-free dull-as-ditchwater anti-climax."

11.19.2012 - 08:09 | armagod679Why would you make more of this nonsense? Everyone outside the demographic of 11-17 year old girls (and a few of their mothers) dismisses it as shit, so why would you keep it going?
Actually, after listening to three different reviews from five different people, all of who said to see this movie, I am really, really tempted.

11.19.2012 - 08:31 | suicune690Wow, I burst out laughing when I saw the clip of Bella running to sit in the chair. There SHOULD be a Benny Hill remix of those scenes.
-
11.19.2012 - 08:46 | EvilAshTwinI guess you didnt hear theyre thinking about using the dirty R word.
Yes,thats right, the movie studio hasnt ruled out the possibility of simply rebooting the movies in a couple years.
-
11.19.2012 - 10:13 | LittlePancakeMakes sense Bella would deal with it so well, becoming a vampire. I mean she was barely human to begin with.

Okay, if you all want a good vampire series then go out and read HOUSE OF NIGHT. Seriously, we need to get the word out about these books, because they are giving some reputation back to vampires after the entire Twilight disaster. If you truly love vampires READ THIS SERIES.....
Go! Go out and read them now!

Maybe we're witnessing the mainstream birth of a new form of literature.
Consequence free, plotless, wish-fulfillment "stories" have been percolating through fan fiction for years. It's obviously what many people want. Hell, didn't Twilight start as a fanfic for another property? Maybe I'm thinking of something else.
Anyhow, my point is the success of "Twilight" and the prevalence of all Mary Sue fanfic demonstrates a sizable audience for stories in which a super-relatable main character gets everything she wants, all problems are illusory, there are no villains, and everyone ends up happy.
Yuck.

Yeah, I read the book too (deepest shame), and I know the baby is supposed to age rapidly in the book, too. But she was only supposed to get to physically 4 years old. In the movie we see her go from newborn to seven? That kid is going to have SERIOUS psychological issues! And that's without even thinking about Jacob's pedophile love for her!

What's next? Well I think they're making a 50 Shades of Grey film. Great...
We all know it started out as a Twilight fanfic written by a woman in her 40s, which then got published as a novel, but with different names to avoid a lawsuit. So don't worry. There will still be plenty of shit series to go through in the future.
Also, I'm still convinced that the personalities that Stephenie Meyer gives her main characters proves that she may be in fact a very disturbed, or at least awful person. I only saw the first movie because a friend who's a Twilight fan (though she hated Breaking Dawn) made me. At least the following movies ditched the stupid blue-greyish colour scheme.
You want to see something funny? Go on YouTube and look up Buffy vs. Edward Cullen. I saw it last year when the professor of my Vampires class at university showed it to us.

Stephanie Meyer is quoted as saying that she didn't know how to end the series. She had a lot of control over these movies [see the wedding ring stuff] for an author, so if she wasn't satisfied with her own ending, when they came to her with a suggestion of this, she probably jumped at it, as long as the "core" of the ending remained the same.
From the filmmaker's side, they wanted to film something other than stilted dialogue and staring. Can you blame them? Plus, what else where they going to spend the insane budget on? CGI to give Bella facial expressions?
I thought not.

11.19.2012 - 17:42 | OverratedRileyI appreciate your reviews because while it's fun to watch people rip Twilight to shreds, you actually have the criticism to back it up since you've read the books.

(Without you starts playing)
I am here and I am sane. I can now be the same without you (holds Twilight DVD) without you.
I will run (Chariots of fire scene), I will dance (Gangnam Style). Let there be no more of this trance. No more of you. No more youuuuuuuuuuuuuu. No more Mormon tween porn stewwwww. (DVD being burned). No more stew. No more you. No more tween porn stew.

11.19.2012 - 18:48 | ArenlorI still have the opinion that they are {In|Suc}cubi not vampires. That said, please review real vampire material next. I second the above request for Forever Knight.
