Damn, I don't have a camera...and I have testicles...and I'm male...hence the testicles.

I wonder is the female audience large enough that at least one person would be interested in this. I'm sure women visit the site, but I worry that this idea could fail...plus since the site is male dominated, any woman is going to be subject to a whole manner of abusive and sexual comments. It's just the nature of the internet.

Also, I'm sure lots of people are interested. But it's narrowed down even further by the age group (there have already been two people who couldn't do it because they're underage) and the time span. People are busy. They might now be able to make a video every two weeks.

Now that's an awesome idea.
Damn my lack of camera and video editing knowlage. I know plenty of nostalgic chick movies than need to be taken down a few pegs, and a few that need more props.
It's just as well. Knowing my terrible procrastination habits, I probabaly wouldn't be able to keep up with the time constraints anyhow.

SIGH! I'd love to do this, but alas, I don't have the right video equipment, nor do I feel knowledgeable enough to review shows from the 80s (given that I was born in '85, and can hardly remember them.) Hopefully some awesome chicks apply! The absence of females with online "shows" (excluding creepy chicks who stare mutely into the camera, and that annoying "lonelygirl") has been plaguing me lately. I suppose there'd be nothing wrong if a guy wrote a lot of the material but the chick just acted it out right? After all Thatguywiththeglasses brother contributes a lot of writing and work on the NC videos, so my point is if the Nostalgia Chick had to be female, her material can still be partly written by a guy, that wouldn't break any rules.

I'm a female in my late 20's who adores funny review videos, the Nostalgia Critic's in particular. Thatguy is a comedic genius and a great actor; he alone is funnier than the entire cast of SNL has been for a decade. His material dead-on mirrors my own memories and experiences, and really taps into my sense of humor.

Just tonight I was pondering creating reviews of my own, becoming a trailblazer in the process. (move over Susan B. Anthony, your feats of feminism pale in comparison to a GIRL using the INTERNET!) I click on NC's site to find that guy himself pondering what I'm pondering! It must be a sign.

I'd like to try my hand at a review. I have vivid memories of the girly shows mentioned here, along with many other girly and guyey nostalgic shows & movies. Not sure if I'm comfortable with the idea of being an "internet star", but because of this sweet buttery twist of fate I feel especially inspired to start reviewing. We'll see what happens. Thanks for this opportunity, NC. Luv ya!

Nice idea. and tempting, I dare say Very tempting. but the Camera I do own has a dislike of indoor lighting. and the only thing that has editing capabilities I own is Microsoft Movie Maker....did he say you can earn money on Rever ?

However, even though I am a female and fit most of the rules to a minimum, I dare say that I have seen a web article about these cartoons by a guy that had me Laughing nearly has hard as NC.

Would it have to be Nostalgic Chick though? I mean the initials are the same. Maybe they would consider Nostalgic Gal. Ng...isn't that an element on the Periodic table or something?

Maybe you should upload a video anyway. Who knows, maybe if it is good enough, he'll let you be the Nostalgia chick. There have been some cases where someone underage won something you have to be old enough for. Perhaps you can do the same here, assuming you have the confidence to do so and that the Nostalgia Critic won't mind.

I'm going to be in that odd minority that really wants this Nostalgia Chick to be funny over hot. I've always dreaded female comedians because they're on stage for their looks over their talents. If the Nostalgia Chick is attractive, that's more power to her. I mean sex does sell afterall, but I'd love to be able to laugh at her commentary over staring at her chest all the time.

Yes they do. Actually, the Internet is mostly composed of two types of people: women, and completely perverted guys who make the sickest comments to videos starring girls. At times, there can be an actually decent guy, but that is extremely rare.

Um, Doug will finally get paid real money starting in September.. He's made barely anything for over 6 months now..

I know that, but I did read in another update that he's now able to make videos full-time. And you can really see that in both the quantity and quality of his videos. I'm not saying anything about how much money anyone should get, but what I am saying is that the "two week" rule might not be so realistic if you expect the same quality. Most people simply do not have the time or the resources to keep that quality up so consistently as Doug does.

So as much as I hope we will see a true Nostalgia Chick within a couple of weeks, I have my doubts. Maybe it'd be better if you'd be more flexible with the time schedule for videos.
