I gotta disagree. AS FOR ME, it was a good movie. after this review I thought like maybe I was a kid and stuff but I watched irt again and... its still a good movie.
the plot - meh... but cmon, you don't expect that much of a scenario from an MK movie WITH PG-13. and after all it was'nt too boring or something. moreover it served as a good link between the action sequences, which were VERY good for the time.
Cage's jokes? yeah they don't make you roll on the floor but they amuse and give that something to Johnny's character. besides, it aint a comedy so what did you expect?so F all, i still like the movie

@Dimon: the Nostalgia Critic videos are really for satirical purposes only. And by any human standards, it's just funnier to 'bash' a movie than to praise it into heaven
.I'm still a sucker for Ninja Turtles and Three Ninjas and stuff like that too, mainly for nostalgic reasons. But by any cinematic standards, those movies suck ass.

the funniest part about this review, is that even if i had a very gay obsession with this movie when i was a mere child, every fucking quote that NC picked from JCVD's unintelligible lines just so happened to magically be the same lines i never understood.
i walk around at work saying "A wacaca? whats a wacaca?"
you can imagine the looks i get.

The biggest problem I had with this movie is that guile is the main character. Not Ken and Ryu. If the movie had been about them, this movie would have probally kicked ass.

"QUICK! Change the channel!"
"What a shock."
"Maybe he should, psh, hit him."
"In the comfort and safety of a BURNING BUILDING!"
These four lines had me laffing for a good five minutes each.

I watched Street Fighter for the first time yesterday. And yeah, it's pretty bad. But, after a while, if you just pretend it's a comedy of sorts, it gets slightly more entertaining.

Raul Julia's had some pretty bad roles before, though.
Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, anyone?

you know, amidst all of the bad action sequences, this movie still managed to leave out all of the most important elements of street fighter, mainly "shin SHORYUKEN!!!!" and "are you ok? BUSTAAA WOLF!!!"
P.S.
the "HADOKEN" was what won that fight for the AVGN in the "epic battle"

I loved Van Damme as a kid and i thought this was hilarious, he really did ruin the movie.
-
07.02.2008 - 06:01 | gasto - SF, not even worthy of mentioning.
This movie is not even worth mentioning. Now think of Street fighter: Chunli legend, will be like. ooooh sh

I have to say, as bad of a movie Street Fighter was, it wasn't bad as a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie.

Also, even if the camoflage joke was funny, the reason the troops are wearing sky blue helmets is because that actually IS the uniform worn by troops controlled by the United Nations IRL.

I can't tell what I hate more: how this movie was mutated into some sort of Gulf War booster film, or how the All-American Asskicker that is Guile was played by a guy named Jean-Claude from Belgium. That's two steps below Captain America being played by Chow Yun Fat! No offense to anyone, but come on.

Just like most game based movies from games that I liked, this also seemed good one at that time. Also I preferd then Jan Claude Van Dam before all other martial artist actors at that time. I feel shamed becouse he was not that good unlike all those chinese onces that I didn't know nothing about back then.

07.06.2008 - 15:12 | Jay_Sun - u forgot something

07.08.2008 - 01:14 | TKWolfman - Favorite Part
*Guile gets shot*
NC: Hey, alright, this movie's finally starting to get good.
*Guile sits up, revealing his death to be fake*
NC: ...damn it.

I'm just gonna get this off my chest I loved your video and I actually thought the Mortal Kombat movie was good(however, not the God-awful sequal with James Remar in for Christopher Lambert). I think what was most depressing about this film is that they screw up Ken's appearance. Now I've seen a million kids who cosplayed as Ken screw it up(not that it's a big deal or anything), but when a costume designer for a movie screws up?! I mean, this is no cosplay it's for a movie. You got the red gi, now get a guy rith long blonde hair. While your at it get one that can act and do a better shuryuken(I must've spellt that wrong) Guile's appearance was handled poorly. It was bad enough we had a Belgian playing an American, but what was worse was the torture chamber guy in the Honda whipping scene actually looked like Guile. Was Steve E. De Souza trying to tease us?

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to burn down an orphanage and puppy farm. Ahnarfhnarfhnarfhnarf" *drinks tea*
That made my day. No, actually, it makes my days, and will probably make a few more of them in the future.
