dammit dude that song is so touching!!
-
04.23.2010 - 21:45 | collinlloydI think you mean the song at the end credits? It's called Itsumo Nando Demo. It is a really sad but comforting song, and it really adds to the sadness at the end, with her leaving the world she just discovered back to her normal life. If I was her, I would have stayed in the "spirit" world.

The clown from "It" did it for me... And still does. For fuck sake, I watched the god damn movie when I was 5 years old! My 10 years older brother had rented it and I thought "Hey! A movie with a clown in it, how funny!" And boy was I wrong...
This was the time before I had learned english and could not I read the subtitles either, so I had no idea what was going on. "Hey look the clown." *Screams, blood and gore.* "It's ok, It's ok, It's ok, It's just a clown, it's ok, it's ok..."
Pennywise still scares the living shit out of me. My brother who rented it thought that it was funnier to watch my reactions than watching the movie itself. I might be scarred for life, but I still laugh about it. Ha Ha Ha!

Number four is Large Marge? Everybody who's mentioned "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" always says that that scene scared the crap out of them. Frankly, I thought it was the most hilarious thing I'd ever seen when I was a kid. The clowns dream was easily much more scary than Large Marge.
I also have to give you props for Judge Doom. Man, when I was a kid, I could barely watch the screen after Judge Doom had transformed into his more toony form. Hell, I never expected it, which made it even more awesomely terrifying!

05.29.2008 - 01:23 | Arjen-DHAmong those are some scary moments indeed, and your humour is great. Me and my friends have seen your videos multiple times now, and every time we can't stop laughing.
Though I don't think number 1 is actually the scariest. Number 2 definately is.

I haven't seen all of these, but yeah that tunnel in Willy Wonka? OMG. I second the commenter who listed the Wheelies from Return to Oz and The Giant Mouse of Minsk, I still find that stuff hard to watch even as an adult. The scariest thing I remember though is from Return of the Jedi where you finally see Darth Vader unmasked. It took me years to finally see the end of that scene, because I was too scared of what Darth Vader might look like. Felt pretty silly when I finally saw it and saw he was just a dude with wrinkly yellow skin. Yeah.
Great review!

Whoa, didn't see that Care Bears one coming! What the hell?! And strangely enough, I don't remember much about that tunnel scene from Willy Wonka, even though my family watched that movie all the time when I was little. Also, I don't agree with the #1 pick. The Banshee should be further down the list.
-
06.15.2008 - 00:33 | DkadWhat about the sister of the villain in Superman 3, who is forced to become a robot at the end !
Now THAT sequence is scary !
With the metalic eyes and all that...
By the way, will you do a review of Superman 3 and 4 ? That would be great coz there's a lot of things to say... =)
-
06.16.2008 - 18:11 | IconbusterThe Tunnel from Willie WOnka is my personal most scariest scene from this list.

This is definitely my favorite of the Top 11 Series thusfar...
Willy Wonka scene shoulda gotten number 1. Jesus Christ, I remember it occuring in the movie but I have no recollection of it being like that. Everyone refers to it as the "Acid Tunnel", but I hardly think that does it Justice. It's moreso terrifying than it is drug induced. Definitely the funniest of the bunch too.
Most of em you nailed too... I didn't see poltergeist till I was in my teens, and I never saw banshee or carebears, but the rest of that stuff was definitely quite terrifying.

06.22.2008 - 02:47 | AndyPAm I the only one who thought that the number and title cards are alot like the title sequence from James Rolfe's (aka the AVGN(heh heh heh)) Monster Madness that he did last October?

06.24.2008 - 14:01 | redrumI'm surprised the face-melting angel scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark didn't make it. I was horrified by that scene a million different ways.
-
06.25.2008 - 10:10 | SandheaverThe tunnel scene still creeps me out, and Large Marge also caught me completely offguard.
Still a great compilation from the Nostalgia Critic, IMO.

One of the only things in a movie that scared the crap out of me when I was young.
-

Great call on Judge Doom.
My candidates:
Gooey Gus from "Attack of the Slime Monster" (Ghostwriter)
I don't know why the heck this wrinkly purple midget is so scary, but when someone makes a motivational poster about it, that's got to be damn freaky.
The donkey transforming scene in Pinocchio
That whole movie was filled with horrors! Monstro the whale, Stromboli...but the little boys transforming in to donkeys and being forced into little crates by creepy men with whips is one of the most frightening moments in my childhood.

What are you? five years old? Sandman from spider man 3? the statues head from cloverfield? so the statue was more scary then the monster? I know the monster was not so frightening but it was still scarier then the statue. come on... Davy Jones? OMG violet from Charlie and the chocolate factory? Willy Wonka from epic movie? Voldemort in the first movie was a little scary but thats because i was nine at the time. Chucky on the other hand is scary. more worthy on the list would be Micheal Myers from Halloween, Jason from friday the 13th and Freddy from nightmare on elm street
