First post BEST REVIEW EVER, this has to be my favorite review by you,
transformers close second, anyway everything you say in this video is true. The
movie sucked big time, im so glad you took neither side, you just pointed out
that its a headache meets blair witch and cgi. IT WAS JUST OK! lol

As much as I love your review, I just keep thinking that you need to borrow the
DVD and watch the special features. They really help you appreciate it. The
effects are so seamless in places, there are parts where you might think it's
just a street in NY but it's greenscreen.

I love it anyway, but the features help.


And, since I have to run anyway...
...anybody who expected a special famous monster is a fool! Hahaha! (ducks)

The ending part was funny

I liked that guy, he was so cooooool.

lol, i luv how u were like 'THIS FILM WAS OK!' also i liked how u didn't really
spoil the ending 4 me, because u said that the bit at the end didn't really
happen and i thought u meant that the part about the guy getting eaten didn't
really happen. anyway u roc big time ;D

lol a party where only the most beautiful people in New york could show up. That
did bother me how everyone was a little to pretty.. you know for average people.

And thus, the Bum Reviews voice was born.

I kind of liked that movie. To be fair, it was innovative. It was a monster
movie, but what monster movie before puts you right into the first-person
perspective of an unsuspecting citizen of the city being terrorized? The
position of the guy whose head-over-heels for some moody broad and he sees her
get attacked by little monsters and then they get away and he thinks she's OK
but they find a military safehouse and everyone starts rushing around all of the
sudden she's pulled behind a screen and she explodes and he never sees her
again! I guess that was a bit of a run-on sentence but I got caught up in the
moment and started imagining myself ranting my own words in your bum reviewer
voice and... oooh, I can't stay mad at you! I may think more highly of this
movie but you're just a barrel of laughs! And at least you gave it some credit.

I actually like this movie. I also saw it after you had already posted this
review.


Anyways its like you said if you like monster movies you will like this movie,
and I like monster movies.

Yeah I was so siked to see it after all the hype over the trailers, the sites,
blah blah blah, and I was sooo dissapointed, it was in fact an "OK" of a
movie I mean they leave it open enough for the sequal but I dunno if I wanna see
another movie within a movie again.

even though I love this movie ever so much and J.J.Abrahms brain washed me so
bad I spent months looking up the backstory got into and even bought a shirt for
cloverfield.. the nostalgia crtic could do no wrong.. he could talk shit about
nightmare before christmas and I would still melt in his pressence... oh the
beauty of it all ( expecting a restrainging order anyday now )

I don't know about you guys, but I thought Cloverfield was pretty darn good.
Maybe not grade A quality film-making, but definitely good.
This is one of those movies you can't truly appreciate until you've seen the
filming process behind it, in other words the "making of" documentary.
The fact that almost everything you saw in the movie was almost entirely first
take, and the entire thing was literally filmed with one of the actors holding
the camera the entire time.

So, yeah, the actual movie was as you put it "adequate" but it doesn't
mean it wasn't darn inventive.

Is it just me or does the monster kinda look like Sin from Final Fantasy X

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, I actually thought Cloverfield was
great. It had its flaws (i.e. the monster was underwhelming), but overall I
thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh well, everyone has opinions.

Well yes it wasn't a famous monster, and chances are this comment will go
unnoticed, but it did have a small back story. You'll have to watch the special
features to get all the details, but basically this creature came from the
ocean, where it lived for... a very long time... and it is actually just a baby,
lost and confused, but most of all hungry. Yes, there is something at least 5
times bigger out in the ocean apparently, according to "The Monster"
special feature explaining the idea. But I have to say I loved this movie, I
loved Hud (The dude with the camera), and I love the camera style. Cloverfield
rocked my ass.

Lol! Cloverfield sucked. I liked the idea of a monster attackin a large city,
but it gets very anoying very fast when the camera shakes all the time

I love NC's hysteric voice. Later on, TGWTG used that voice to impersonate the
Bum. I feel so disappointed! Will NC ever use that voice again in a review?

Cloverfield is awesome

I am going to be truthful, I was dreading replying to this review because I
didn't like the movie at all.
I like your review, just not the movie itself. I was so bored with it I had to
skip to the end and that was no better then the middle of the movie!!!
I'm sure there were great moments in it but I was seriously so bored I actually
liked the beginning with the whole party scene that when it stopped there I said
in my mind "Hey! Why'd the party stop??? This topic was just getting
interesting...OMG! Why the heck are we running down these stairs???"
And that was when it turned sour to me. Maybe there are those who liked it but I
have to say I seriously did not get the movie. I gave it a shot, but it looked
deeply bland in a depressing way and did not interest me enough to watch it all
the way through.

As for the review, what I know from it because I did not watch the movie fully,
I gotta tip my hat to NC for describing perfectly what it was like...and in the
Bum's voice too!! ;D
