Oh God, I laughed so hard.

I rode the last half of the 80's out as a toddler, and compared to the 80's teens, I think I had it lucky. I'd hate to have developed a reflex to spontaneously make horrible raps instead of talking to people. Would have made job interviews a nightmare.

Are you gonna upload your Pocahontas audition here? It was hilarious, as well.

I get the impression that the movie was meant to be a musical... albeit a talentless one. Seriously, how can they have no resolution on any of the plots? And what the hell is with the random guy suddenly naming off synonyms for penises?! Any grade where we had health classes, even high school, were cesspools of discomfort when it came to sexual matters.

I really thought the credits rolling at that point was going to be a gag. But like you said sense it really had no plot it didn't really to resolve anything in the end so they might as well rolled the credits after the brilliant "We Like Boys" song or during one of the random rap sessions. Great review, I liked where you tried to plead with the movie to give you reason when there was none.

Yay, I finally get to see it in full! I'm so glad I missed this movie growing up, I think it would have killed me ded. Love the costume change and formula at the start, and the condom thing's classic. Sex ed was bad enough in real life, I'm grateful they didn't have us pronouncing things like were learning a foreign language.

I was a bit sceptical towards the whole Nostalgia Chick thing at first, not because of the girl thing but rather because the concept felt as if it was built around copying what the Nostalgia Critic already does so well which in my eyes is a recipe for disaster (see almost any movie sequel ever made without the original directors and actors involved).

This proved me wrong however. Great work. I think you've managed to find the perfect balance between being a female version of the Nostalgia Critic and adding your own flavor to the mix.

The only criticism i have for this movie is that the sound of the movie was a bit too high compared to the sound of your voice. thus i found myself always putting volume up when you were speaking and down when a movie part started to come. Otherwise the video was great.

Not bad, Nostalgia Chick.

Just a small bit of (hopefully) constructive advice: First of all, your "surprised" faces could use a bit more variety. Try spending some time in front of a mirror and experimenting with various eyebrow raises, lip curls and head movements. If you need inspiration, the Nostalgia Critic has some great reactions in his reviews for Super Mario Bros., Space Jam, Tom & Jerry and the Bebe's Kids game.

Your quick-change into 80's attire probably hurt the review a bit. It's great that you're making fun of 80's teenaged female stereotypes, but the vitriol is hard to take seriously when you're dressed as an 80's teenaged female stereotype. Wardrobe changes are perfectly welcome, but keep it "you." Stay detached from the movie you're reviewing and the criticism will come through much clearer.

Still, this review had some great moments. The opening explanation of teenaged girls was quite entertaining and set up the movie very nicely. The bit with the remote was a nice, new idea and the "puberty at nighttime in a thunderstorm" crack had me laughing. The points you made about divorce from reality, misplaced priorities regarding God-like powers and a total lack of plot were well-placed and on-point. They made a great basis for a review, though the comments weren't quite as biting as your previous work was.

Overall, I'd say this wasn't quite as entertaining as your Pocahontas review, but it was still pretty good. You're still the ideal Nostalgia Chick, you're still funny and you're still cute as all get-out.

I personally found your faces adorable. Not quite as exaggerated as N. Critic but I think that's better for you. That scene at the beginning when you're going through your 80's transformation was brilliant.

A small technical issue, I was constantly adjusting the volume because whenever the movie parts are playing it's super loud but whenever you talk, it's quite a bit quieter. Try to make the clips and your voice equal because otherwise it can be a pain to listen too. Critique wise as far as jokes, just a little more thrown in I guess. Mostly when you go back to things - like the singing. Every time you addressed that you kept about the same tone when in that situation it may be better to get more frustrated as they continue to do it. But overall pretty good job.

Have I mentioned that I find you adorable? Can I adopt you?

I just looked up wikipedia, and yes, there was a plot to this.


A story isn't that same as an actual plot. A plot assumes a beginning, a middle, a climax, and an ending with a resolution of some sort. Something this movie did not have.

I haven't seen this movie or even heard of it until seeing this, and now, I'm more scarred than that time I searched "Tails" in Google Image Search and got gay Sonic and Tails stuff. I'm glad I was born in 1991, so I wouldn't have to live through the 80's. Besides, the 90's are way better in my opinion. If you like the 80's, that's fine, but growing up in the 90's, I like the 90's.

It seems to me the ladies had much more awful movies directed towards them in the 80's. That "I Like Boys" song and those God Awful white rappers made me question the reason for humanity's existence. At least Teen Wolf encouraged boys to ride on the roof of a moving truck while playing an air guitar and doing backflips.......Sweet. smilies/cool.gif

I don't know about anyone else here but I kinda have the urge to hunt this movie down and truly take in its crazy, nonsensical 80's splendour. The really strange musical sequences (the white guys...oh god, those painfully white guys) had me nearly on the floor. They just need to be seen to be believed. smilies/tongue.gif smilies/cheesy.gif

Great start, just fix the sound issues between you and the video and you'll be good to go. Otherwise, this movie sucks, not because it's a chick flick, not because it's virtually plot-less, but because it just sucks. I can deal with antagonist-less movies like The Breakfast Club and the Japan-only Dobitsu no Mori. It does kinda remind me why I like the 80s so much, even though I was born in '86.

First I would like to say that I have seen this movie when I was younger and I really enjoyed it. It was like a pre Sababrina the teenage witch movie. Now, I'm not into "girl movies" but I remember really enjoying this movie. (Could be because of all the cute girls.) Anyways, Great first video... Brought back some memories.

I actually saw this movie a lot of time on the Disney channel in the early nineties.

Ya know, I've had full confidence in Lindsay's ability to be at par with Doug. And she even further proved herself with this video. I mean Jesus Christ! She tackled the "Manos" of 80's teen movies... IN HER SECOND VIDEO! Bravo!! Sheer awesomness... sheer.

This was actually one of my suggestions in the forums - I'm so stoked that you actually reviewed this movie; I didn't think anyone else remembered it! Growing up, I used to watch this on the Disney channel during the Halloween season (funny how I don't quite remember the condom scene...guess that was omitted, lol...)

Anyway, spot-on review; loved how you made note of such awesome scenes as "I Like Boys!", the pseudo-Cinemax makeout in the barn, and the ending that didn't really resolve anything (even as a kid, that bugged me).

You've reinforced my choice, NChick! Can't wait to see more - keep up the great work!!

Hahaha, hilarious!!! Can't believe they actually make a movie like this (and that the white rappers never got killed in some drive by accident)

This movie has too much 80's for my mind to digest...

Also, I was flipping through browsers and when I reached this one there was a little pop-up box saying "this comment has been reported," so if I accidently clicked something I would like to apologize. I know the administrator is busy enough as it is.

Congrats on your first vid as The Dudette, Lindsay, and it appears I am still right about her being a total hottie smilies/wink.gif lol

Even though I resent the comment about the 80's, since almost all of my favorite movies and music came from then, I totally agree that it's more fun to make fun of 80's culture than it was to actually live in it lol.

The facial expressions and the way you review it actually is a bit like Nostalgia Critic's, but still in a different way. Anyway it was very great, truly lives up to the standart of this sites other featured videos ^^

... But not in a creepy way... Well, ok, it's pretty creepy. But nevertheless, great review. I especially loved your expression when the "I Like Boys" number started (that was a CHEER?), even better was your expression when the annoying gay greaser white posers started their rap by the car.

Great first video, and I look forward to many, many more!
