Damn nothing says mother/daughter bonding like killing your father and getting rid of the evidence! Nice Review, but honestly, (and please don't hate me) I think your pacing can use a little help. I'm looking forward to more vids though!

Where's the emoticon for "i want to have your babies?" ^_^ With you and Film Brain, I feel like I'm with people I would hang out with outside the internet, have a few beers and talk about film. Keep up the great work.
Almodovar is one of the best filmmakers out there today with works of such vivaciousness yet he somehow weaves in a sense of subtlety and craftsmanship to it all. Although not entirely a thriller, it still has that aspect and I can't help but say that the best thrillers out there today are coming out of Europe, no question. It's his style that I love, which has the vividness of Jeunet and the storytelling of Billy Wilder all rolled into each other.

08.06.2009 - 20:29 | CondorelThat was great... well it was good. I expect some polish will truly make this series shine.
If you're looking to do something a little more light-hearted, have you ever seen (or heard of) 'Les Boys'?
It's a Quebecois hockey movie, nothing genius or anything, just a feel-good sports flick. It's also the highest-grossing French Canadian film ever made - it did better than most English Canadian films ever has for that matter.
Anyway, thanks for the show.

Interesting (Or should I say Interesante, yeah I did GCSE spanish) review series. I personally have only seen one foriegn language film, La Haine (French), but it was really quite good, gritty with a nice twist. When you say foriegn delecacies do you count British films? We have made some good ones.
If you want to cover some Swedish movies, I'd be more than happy to give you a list of those.
Btw, I think it's great that you're bringing some spotlight on foreign movies. Broadening people's views is never a bad thing.
²
Fucking Åmål please.
No it's not a porn movie. :D
It's a Swedish movie I had to see at my school and I pretty much loved it.
When they released it in America they had to change the name to Show me love for obvious reasons.

As I said to you in private, this was an awesome start to a series, and I can't wait for more!
Since you've already heard my criticsms, and they're echoed by some of the comments here, it would be redundant to repeat them here, so, I'll just congratulate you on an awesome video, and wish you the very best of luck in future episodes! Need any help, give us a shout!
P.S. Are you going to do any Asian films? Do Shanghai Dreams!

Good start to the new series. I'm interested in seeing where this goes. Also, the wiki article was made. Called it Foreign Delicacies as I wasn't sure if you wanted it to be "Coldguy's Foreign Delicacies". Now...hmmm... Why does that Spanish speaking lady sound...so familiar?
Hmm....
It's ThatChickWithTheGoggles isn't it? ;-)

Liking the show. It needs a little polish, but its good to see some foreign movies getting a look in.
If you like Pedro Almodóvar, a good film to check out is All About My Mother. I had to have a look at it in film studies and...well what can I say? It's brightly coloured, vibrant, moving, melodramatic genius.
ALSO: Will you be doing any German Expressionist films later on in the series? I would love to get your take on Metropolis and The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
Oh and its official: You have to do À bout de souffle.

Interesting concept you've got here Coldguy. There are a lot of interesting movies outside of Hollywood many people don't really know about. Personally I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with foreign movies, since some are kind of boring and pretentious. There's one in particular I dislike, I think I'll make a review about it sometime. I'm not really familiar with Almodovar, although I remember quiting Hable con Ella once. Maybe I should try it again.
If you'd ever like to see something Dutch, you should watch Karakter.
I'm Dutch so I could recommend some more, although I do have to admit that compared to other countries Dutch cinema is not really that great.
Are you reviewing older movies too? If so, you should review the French films 'Mon Oncle' and 'Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot' by Jacques Tati. Those films are very entertaining even today.
i saw this weeks ago in Coldguy's blip channel but i was too lazy to sign up there and leave a coment so i leave it here: AWESOME!!!
i hope to see more movies from others places and in other languages, specially spanish since im from Chile
btw Coldguy, do you have watch any chilean movie?
