You know what would be helpful? If you actually said what was wrong with the review instead of proclaiming it to be shit then running off! Your comment is a waist of space.
And no, before you accuse me of being a fanboy, it's not because you spoke negatively about the review. There are more than two extremes.

Shouldn't be to worried. Bores hasn't really had any fans since 2009. And, yes, he did have fans. Heck, before that, he wasn't really as obvious of an AVGN rip-off. In fact, he showed promise that he would be his own unique reviewer before 2010 started. After that, he basically became a second-rate AVGN. And that is when, what little fanbase he had, myself included, left him to pursue other reviewers. But, hey, it led me to this sight.

Well, even though you may utterly despise this comic as the failed attempt at parody that it is, I still found myself laughing aloud at the "So Bad It's Good" quality of the dialog. Or maybe the way you read it was what achieved that effect. Either way, that was truly funny.
Also, Brad Jones has heard of "Death Note." My fact-I-never-knew-about- before-today of the day.

I think one horribly executed "parody" Linkara forgot to mention was Kimberly walking around in short shorts and a halter top, as if to imply that she was kinda the "attractive" one on the show that almost every boy audience member had that allure to and as Critic put it in the Superman 4 review: "I just hit puberty and now there is no Kimberly".
Simply put, she was the PG-13 "sex appeal" character of the show. Come on, we all know it was true.
Also, I hate to think what they would have done to Rita in this comic. Not to mention Bulk and Skull.

He pritty much stated in the revew that he was thinkning: "Dang i nead to finish a bunch of variuss parody comics on a verry tight schedule and don't have time to realy think the plot and jokes trough."
As for the dead power rangers jokes, i't just black humor and to be hones a relativly tame black humor.

I have to say, at first, I actually thought this comic was funny.
The stuff written on their shirts and other various gags reminded me a lot of MAD Magazine parodies I used to read when I was a kid, so I thought the jokes there were pretty damn funny. Granted I wasn't a very big Power Ranger fan, so it was easy for me to laugh at something I didn't really get thrilled about.
However, I see your problem with the comic. Once they started killing off the characters brutally, it wasn't very funny. It was just very dark and nonsensical, going purely for shock seeing these teenagers get mutilated. It would have been hilarious now if they instead got rid of each Power Ranger in a silly fashion, such as getting them aired on other shows, claiming the violence they caused was deemed pg, so they would have to air later, or some other gag like that.
But in other news, thank you Linkara for being awesome. You prove to us other 20 something year olds that it's perfectly fine to like old kid shows and still be happily enthusiastic about them, AND a BIG thank you for the awesome web series you produce weekly :) I look forward to late Monday night just because of your show. Keep up the fantastic work man.

I admit I am not a big Power Rangers Fan, it was one of the only shows (next to Beetle Borgs) that I didn't want to watch on Fox Kids. So don't take it the wrong way if I got some amusement out of seeing all the Power Rangers dismembered. lol. I enjoyed this review and thought it was great that the creator of this comic book was man enough to poke fun at it with you. It showed he has class and a great sense of humor.
Although in some parts it was sad to see how some great material for satire was executed horribly however. As he explained, I thought it may have been a good parody comic if it wasn't for time constraints.
Looking forward to your confrontation with the Enitity soon Linkara! :D

What does it mean?
I havent the foggiest. It could be anything now. It is quite a riddle...
Does it have anything to do with the Entity?
Probably. Isnt it the Entity saying that anyways?
Does it explain what happened to Harvey and the Ninja-style Dancer?
We'll have to wait and see.
Will these questions and more be answered?
Hopefully, when the Entity comes, they will.
Who wants to help me keep track?
I'll help keep track.
Till next time.

[q]"You've seen my home before"[/q]
Actually I think it says "You've Seen My Bones Before" ...which takes the disturbing level up ten notches. o.o
Wait...the clues...they are clues to the Enitity's past. Harvey and NSD knew the secret first! That was why they were wiped out! The Attacks were NOT RANDOM PEOPLE!
ITS A CONSPIRACY!
And now we are getting closer to the secret! I WILL NOT BE SILENT! I HAVE TO TELL THE PEOPLE!
*gets grabbed by men in white doctor's coats*
NO NO! I HAVE TO WARN THEM! I HAVE TO WARN THE PEOPLE THE ENITITY IS-*is knocked out and dragged away*

Great review as ever, man!
I own a few crappy parody comics like this I'd like to send ya! One's called Texas Chainsaw Samurai and it's by the same company as that Super Foxy Teenage Vixens or whateer it was called the one with that guy as the logo that's in your opening song!
I'm sad to admit I've seen that Japanese Power Ranger Porno clip Brad mentioned. But, besides it thanks to G4 I know there is an adult themed parody called Busty Rangers.
I'll also admit a lot of the jokes in that book I got but they still weren't funny. It's a lot like those crappy parody movies they've been firing out the past 10 years!
Also, how much would old dude charge for an audographed copy of this turd!?

Out of all 150 of your episodes, I think that was the most unexpected ending I've ever seen. To actually have the comic writer pop in and cameo was unspeakably cool and he was a really good sport about everything. Good on him!
MVP of the review: (tie) Green Ranger Linkara and Brad Jones' Cheshire Cat grin.
New title card artist this week?

Oh man, that comic was pretty mean spirited, but I give props to the original creator having good fun with it. Is this Nat Gerter person really all that?
The other two cameos were indeed well timed. Though I think I may have stumbled across that Japanese, uh, thing, that Snob mentioned one time.
I'm not entirely sure on this, but isn't the reason why PR was banned in Malaysia because of the "Morphin" sounding like "Morphine"?

It's a Captain Planet reference. "Positive Thinking" = Heart. Notice the way she's posing with the ring?
Yeah, it's not funny, but at least there is some logic to it.

08.23.2011 - 01:50 | joegomez84I really like your reviews, and congrats on 150 great episodes! However, this is one time I do respectfully disagree with you. I've always liked the comedy of people having different things written on their shirts every panel. It allows for multiple extra little gags to be told on every panel. True the stuff written on their shirts wasn't always funny, but I think it's a good concept. Maybe it's because I didn't care for the show as a kid but I thought that this comic wasn't that bad. I've read a few black and white parody comics and this one was funnier than any of the ones I've read before as it actually made me laugh a few times. There were a lot of dumb gags, but definitly some good ones, it seems like you are just taking the comic way to seriously because of how much you love the show. In terms of a mad magazine style parody, it's not great but it's not all that bad. But that's only my opinion. Keep up the great work though!

This review hurt me so much as a Power Rangers fan it was just... wow. Nice work Linkara not just for this review but also for the guy who did this title card. I saw that and I was like "Oh my god, Lord Zedd has snapped" but reading this comic would make anybody crazy. But we can at least be grateful that there wasn't a Bulk and Skull "parody" in this thing. Keep up the good work and may the power protect you.
-
08.23.2011 - 02:54 | mkfan160I completely agree. In fact my post was going to say almost the same thing. BTW LInkara congrats on 150 episodes :). When Lord Zed commented about his voice I am shocked LInkara didn't say something like "Hey leave those kind of jokes to me comic". Before you guys falme me I am not saying Linkara's jokes are on par with this comic. Quite the contrary. I am just saying that comment does sound like something LInkara usually says when go from a shot of the comic to him sitting on the couch as makes the character in some comic say a funny line they actually didn't say.
Also I wonder if the "Death Note porn" is a preview of this week Cinema Snob.

I was not expecting the actual writer to make a cameo appearance and leave you with a cursed comic.
I have to hand it to you for donning the Green Ranger outfit. That really shows dedication to your chosen fandom.
Okay, so I was patient enough and re-ran the Entity glitch at 29:01 to get "You've seen my bones before." Creepy.

Ya know, you dressing as the Green Ranger might've been cool to me, but frankly, I didn't grow up with MMPR (Turbo was the first season I watched), have no nostalgia for it, and just find the suits plain and inferior to those of Dino Thunder. as far as Tommy goes, it's Black DT Ranger ATW
great review, though

New artist this week?
The Green Ringer's butt on that cover is made of lol.
I guess Goldar kinda looks like a terrible Anubis costume.
This comic is a good example of why you should never make a negative parody of a series you've never actually watched.
Guy 1: "Don't mess with me, I've got a monkey on my back!"
Guy 2: "Oh yeah, well I was frozen today!"
Unless Brad is gay, & his wife suggests otherwise, he's not gonna like that Death Note porn.
I actually found a GOOD Power Rangers spoof. Look on youtube for "Earth Defender Freshmen." I laugh my ass off every time I watch it. & someone put some money into it too.
Yay! Gene Wilder!
Wow, a cameo from the writer. That's new.
Fat? Nah, you're still one of the leanest male reviewers on this site. Where I live, we consider Phelous to be "husky" Nash to be "a little pudgy" & Distressed watcher to be "average male weight."
Did you make that costume from scratch? I wouldn't ask, but you did make a prop once. It was cool watching you make something.

"Fat? Nah, you're still one of the leanest male reviewers on this site. Where I live, we consider Phelous to be 'husky' Nash to be 'a little pudgy' & Distressed watcher to be 'average male weight.'"
Hey! On behalf of fat men everywhere, I am offended at the comparison to The Amazing Atheist!
But, anyway, compared to guys like Doug, Spoony, or Brad, Linkara's definitely not thin. He's just pudgy, though, so his good looks aren't completely covered up.
-
08.23.2011 - 03:35 | LikaLaruku
But TJ is just not fat enough to be proud to be fat, goshdarnit. Well I guess "leanest" was overreaching; I did overlook a few adorably slender European reviewers.
Come to Washtington (state); people here are huge. It will change your perspective of what "fat" is. We can't tell a runway model from a Lich Queen, or Kate Moss from a piece of sandpaper.
Brad...I've seen him without his jacket. I think he & Lewis here are about the same shape.

Nah, ebay. It was providence at the time, since a costume with all the trimmings it came with would usually go upwards of $1200 to $1500 and I got it relatively cheaper than that, and the best part was that it actually fit me and let's face it - you may not think I'm fat, but I'm not exactly the lean, athletic type.
-
08.23.2011 - 03:28 | LikaLaruku
Lean nerds are less common; damn their perfect overactive metabolisms!
I honestly do not know what most women see in muscles. Stereotypicaly men with athletic builds are more irritable, self-centered, & have the lowest fidelity rates. You can't outrun them, lift them, or intimidate them.
So how long can you stand wearing it in this summer heat?

0:38- It’s been a really, REALLY long time since I watched that Animaniacs episode.
1:31- In speaking of which, I’m still looking forward to the worst Image comic you’ve ever read. (The one your said are keeping secret back at MagFest)
3:59- As a nerd, I figured that point out, and I think the Japanese already made that concept, because it’s very well obvious. The people of Parody Press (the a-holes who made this craptasterpiece) are …well, A-Holes.
24:50- …This …comic …was written by …someone with …talent? ...Well, and least he still makes some good stuff unlike Frank “The director of “The Spirit”” Miller.
8:17- This is as stale and repetitive as The Irate Gamer.
The Yellow Ranger, oh sorry, GOLD RINGER, has boobs on the front cover. In other words, that joke is pointless.
13:07- These killings can make Freddy Krugger feel ashamed of himself.
14:46- It was also used in that 2-parter “Star Trek: TNG” episode with Lore and the rogue Borg.
15:43- Same here, Zeddy.
19:50- If I was reading this comic, it’s at this point that I would crumple it up, pee on it, dry it with a hair dryer, put it through the shredder, burn it, and use the flame to roast a hot dog before it fades out.
21:18- Ace Ventura should have used that line.
24:12- With the exception of “Skyline,” I have never seen a story that just gives up at the very end like this.
Awesome cameos, awesome ending, awesome episode. Happy 150, AT4W.
