He died (um disappeared) with honor *salutes*
"Its Voice is Not Its Own" such a vague and yet vital clue to The Entity story! I hope it doesn't leave the house and hurt the others like Critic, Spoony, Chick, and etc in the same way it did to NSD.
I like the idea of the Entity being heard and not scene, its more effective to how dreadful it is because so far Lord Vyce and others have talked about the destruction it has wrought and you get this cold chill when you feel its presence. Yet we are left to our imaginations what the creature looks like and most importantly how it devours its victims. To me villians like that are much more powerful and scary.
*shifty eyes* That is to say Mechakara didn't give me nightmares or anything.
Also as I noticed before, there seems to be some little figure amongst the static. Keep up the storyline Linkara, I have to know what will happen next!

05.30.2011 - 22:10 | Sci-fi NerdI think its his skin thats made of metal in the Ultimate universe. And the FF movies were crap, but it was cool to see Doctor Doom shooting lighting out of his hands

No I think his whole body was made of better because he no longer needed his internal organs, or needed to eat or sleep like Richards! Also, he has a healing factor like Wolverine but the only injuries he couldn't heal from was damage caused by his own body! Because in his 1st appearine Richard slashedhim across the face with one of his barbs he was shooting from his arms anf the cut wouldn't heal and it PO-ed Doom majorly! I liked the 1st FF movie abit but the sequal Ihated for what they did! the noval was alot better though!
-
05.31.2011 - 06:46 | Dragon_NexusMakes you wonder though...if it was so easy to kill Doom, why the hell didn't Thing just do it years ago?

I mean, I always knew he always had a stick up his butt. But SERIOUSLY!?!?!? What is the point of him heading a rally to give the mutants a forced chance to surrender to the Government or die?!?!
Good thing this character developtment ended quickly with a bullet to the head I don't think I would really want to know how that goes down in any future comic book series. Way to make Cyclops more of a complete and utter douche.

When I was very young, I got comics just to mostly look at the pictures,, and I had both the DC and Marvel animated universes. But as I grew older, I actually started reading them. It wasn’t until during college that I got a copy of Frank Miller’s “Batman: Year One” that I gotten more interested in Batman’s comic history, that I got most of his best stories like “Knightfall” and “Hush,” and The Death of Superman trilogy, most of the JLA books, and so on. I’m also one of those lazies that go on sites like Wikipedia to read up on some superhero history. I also got interested in what event(s) are happening in both the DC and Marvel universes.
7:48- Ultimate Wolverine is no regular continuity Wolverine or Hugh Jackman.
10:01- And hate mail from Wolverine fans overfilled mailboxes across the planet.
I also find the mutant origins in the Ultimate Universe pretty lame, …and stupid.
15:52- And we end the kill count in “Ultimatum” with 22 heroes and villains (plus 10 from other books).
I really love how you fake us with Granny Goodness.
Nice job on trashing “Ultimatum” (aka, Ultimate Trash).
Man, I can’t wait to see how the Entity event will be resolved.

05.30.2011 - 18:46 | Dwarf VaderWell, what a shame, because it really seems like there were elements of a good story in Ultimatum. Great video, Linkara.
-
Hey Linkara, do you have any suggestions on a comic book series that I should read? I can't seem to get into any of them (other than Birds of Prey, which was amazing). I don't really mind whether it's DC or Marvel, but to be honest, I'm sort of leaning towards DC nowadays.
And I remember reading Ultimatum. I didn't think it was that bad! Well, except for the part where Cyclops killed Magneto. That made me 'wtf' a little.

You really faked me out with the Granny Goodness still. And you're right--this series is TERRIBLE, and every bit as bad as Countdown.
Those were eerily cryptic messages from Ninja-Style Dancer. I can't wait to find out what they mean!

Well, it was obviously reprogrammed to hit Cyclops... because uh... yeah. Programmable bullets are reusable and +/-RW I guess.
Pretty stupid bullet if you ask me. Why not just hire somebody who can aim and shoot well? What happens if you're attacked and need to change targets?
I wonder if bullets can be hacked to hit the person shooting it.
-
05.30.2011 - 21:58 | BooRat
I'm thinking by the way he said it he litteraly "shoved" the bullet threw his head! As in he moving so fast no one could see him ran up to cyclops and pushed the bullet into Cyclop's skull and out the back and ran off with it so he could have that conversation with whom I'm guissing is his mother! IDK I don't read this series that often I'm still picking up back issues!

It's because of his call that Ninja dancer is gone.
It's also the 90's "OMG killing in gory ways is cool" attitude that birthed this mess.
Of course it's just mere coinidence that everyone that died was part of an ongoing plot that was at the time unresolved. Why actually write an ending to Nightcrawler becoming a leader, or Dazzler's whole "future profecy", or Emma's more non-violent X Men alternative, etc? Sure, just kill everyone so you don't have to be bothered to actually finish the damn plots.

05.30.2011 - 20:14 | KurolegacyGreat video Linkara. I've been waiting for Ultimatum to be reviewed and now the sin is done.
To answer your statement about Cyclops' blast burning off Wolverine's flesh, apparently in the Ultimate Universe there were times that his optic blast was show to generate heat.
Though your point about how Cyclops should have just closed his eyes and how Magneto shouldn't have been able to take control of the machinery of Iron Man's armor are things that I agree with and one of many things I found nonsensical or contrived about this entire crossover.

Or, shocking swerve, the Scarlet Witch.
I can't even begin to work out how that would happen and how she would come back from the dead/faked the death in the first place other than "Chaos magic did it." but...it wouldn't be the stupidest thing to happen.
Also, I have been too well trained by watching Phelous videos recently. The ringtone caused me to instantly wonder who had been shot and who by.

Or you could, ya know, just bother to pick up the ultimate Guide to whatever series your interested in and look up the back story for yourself. I can count the number of Marvel comic I've read without using all of my fingers, but I still know a fair deal about the origins of most of the X-men thanks to my guide.
Also; It looks like this series is going to get a reboot itself. At least I hope so: I Want Ninja Style Dancer Back! :'(

It wouldn't be so bad if mutants were the result of experimentation. Maybe mutants could be like the enduring legacy of a desperate escalatory measure employed by both sides in a long-forgotten war?
It's probably not hard to get into a new comic, assuming it's any good. Each issue should have at least one conflict which is established and resolved within its own pages, and continuity should just be a bonus thing.

Back in issue one, with everyone dropping like flies, I thought to myself "The only way they could save this franchise is to pull a Dallas". At the end, have someone like Nick Fury bolt upright in their bed and sigh "So it was all a dream..." The worst troupe in the box was the only thing that could save this mess.
And I think you should have added Magneto to the body count. It would be one thing if he died in battle, like if he gave them no choice but to kill him. But near the end, he was almost ready to surrender. He was disoriented, hallucinatory, and blubbering like a baby. And Scott just shoots him in the head after promising to help him.
So, let me see if I can follow this. Pietro was hired by shadowy woman, who I'm assuming is the witch of Wundergore (sorry for misspelling) to get Magneto killed. To do this, he seduces his sister, gets her to cast a spell on Hank's Robots, somehow counts on Dr. Doom to stick his hand in this, then counts on the robots to murder his sister, which forces Magneto to go to war. Pietro then fakes his death, counting on that to drive Magneto insane, then counts on the world uniting to kill him. Was there some ulterior (hey, you could almost make that sound like Ultimate; I smell a new book) motive for all this that's explained in a future issue. How nice of Marvel to make sure no one had the motivation to continue reading.
And I guess this is as good a place as any to talk about a theory I have as to why Scott Summers is an asshole. Of all the original X-men, Scott has arguably the least control over his power. Sure, Nightcrawler and Beast have freaky appearances that make it impossible for them to lead normal lives, but Scott will never safely see the world without his visor or sunglasses. Psychologically, he might then transpose that lack of control by trying to control every other facet of his life, including his position of leadership. If someone's already brought up this idea, I honestly didn't know about it.

I haven't read any of the ultimates stuff, but back in the 90's when I read X-Men I seem to remember that Cyclops' powers were fueled by solar power. I think it was in X-Men #1 or #2, (the 90's series, not the original), that Cyclops was attacking Magneto and ran out of power completely.
So... what's to stop him from just draining his "battery" and then only going out at night so he never recharges?
Oh, right, because he's an asshole with or *without* his mutant abilities.

Im sorry; as an Hardcore Doctor Strange fan I'm still raging over - not why; but how Dormammu finaly defeated him.
Fuck this comic, The the sorcerer supreme deserves to be killed with opposing mystic arts. NOT BY POPPING HIS HEAD OFF!?!
ARHHHH!
*Remembers my raging skype conversation*
This comic sucked! I could use ALOT harsher words - Linkara I thank you for Destroying this miserable pile of putrid writing!
Nice art work though, In my opinion.
-
05.30.2011 - 22:10 | benfromcanadaHe wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme in the Ultimate Universe. He was a popular stage magician and psychic, like John Edward and Uri Geller rolled into one. During a team-up with Spider-Man (more like Spidey saving his arse) he discovered that magic really existed, sort of. This was the first appearance of Ultimate Dormammu (who the Human Torch absorbed in either Ultimate Fantastic Four or Ultimate Spider-Man. You know, magical flame is like regular flame, and all that). It was also, like, the third appearance of Ultimate Dr. Strange that wasn't a cameo (fourth or fifth if you count the same scenario being replayed from slightly different perspectives in Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Fantastic Four). So, while it makes sense that Dormammu would be able to so easily kill this Strange, it makes no sense that he'd care to.

05.30.2011 - 21:01 | kwclass09So how did a bullet specifically targeted to Scarlett Witches DNA kill Cyclopes.....did they have more of those? And why kill cyclopes he had nothing to do with her death.
-
05.30.2011 - 22:03 | benfromcanadaCyke killed Magneto, that's why, kwclass.
-
05.31.2011 - 17:50 | kwclass09True but how did they know that? Was there a public speech about him killing magneto? Seriously how did they think it was going to end anyway they had 15 superheros coming after him. Why not just go after the whole team with magic bullets.

-
05.30.2011 - 22:16 | KurolegacyYea it especially doesn't make sense his comment about irony. What's the irony in killing Scott with the bullet that killed Scarlett Witch? I mean it would be one thing if that's what killed Doctor Doom but it wasn't. I swear that them killing Scott at the end was just their way of trying to shock the reader by having someone die even though the threat seemed to have passed. If so, they failed due to having numbed the reader so much by simply filling the entire thing with death.

The number 1 thing you do NOT do to a hero, (espically a Doctor Who Fan): Mess with his friends......this just got personal.
Good Job on the review Linkara.....and GOOD GOD man you must have the willpower of a freaking Saint. I would have already Torched those freaking Comics and Joe Q buy this point.....wait I'd light Joe Q on fire for a Klondike Bar, Nvm XD
Also, the truth of the matter is that when anyone has a mind meld with Samuel Jackson their head will explode from awesome. Magneto just barely manged to keep it together and was moved to tears. Cyclops was basically just finishing the job.
