lol great review Linkara...I loved the look on his face when that one bad guy talk about going to the World Trade Center to bleed the people dry. lol it was just wonderful.
And what would be the reason you would name a super hero "Thumblina" if she is not going to be small or have the ability to shrink down or anything. Dosen't make any sense to me.

Because she's very small?

I also don’t know much about X-Men. I get my knowledge about it from the animated series and the movies.
2:00 - With Rob Liefeld at the helm? …HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA!!! Sorry, I had to get that out. =)
I saw a polybaged issue at Krypton Comics in Omaha, Nebraska a few times, but I already have the entire Death of Superman trilogy in trade-paperback form.
I’ve read the Top 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings, and thank God I did.
10:56- This is the weirdest fourth wall breaking I’ve ever seen in any medium.
15:05- I feel your pain, Lewis. I could also use a color metaphor myself.
I also call the Weapon X bit stupid.
19:39- ROB LIEFELD, THE IRATE GAMER OF COMICS!!!
Nice job on 90s Kid in this episode.

I wonder the same thing when I see "artwork" that shows a roaring fire and makes it look like a giant buried in ice up to his hairline...seriously, that fire looks like hair.
The man is awful. He's better at drawing than me, but I'm not getting paid big bucks and proclaiming to be a professional artist, Leifeld must have made a deal with the devil.

03.22.2011 - 11:53 | yourworstnightmareFan: See 90's Kid. Kids actually were a lot like that character back then.

The way I see it, it was neither Liefeld's drawing nor his writing that made him popular. It was the style of the characters he designed. They were new and outstanding - until they weren't anymore. All those things we make fun of today, like the wierd weapons, the shoulder pads, the hair and so on, was actually a welcome breeze of fresh air in the genre back then, when most superheroes just wore colorful spandex. Until it turned into a big bubble of hot air, with too many character looking like that.
And actually, I don't find the 90's antihero fashion style outright bad. I find it funny! ^^

I'm surprised 90s kid, doesn't want to be buried in the machine gun coffin of awesome. When a person decides to break into your grave and robbing it, you can safely proudly say that your body to be impaled into that person's enemies, your left femur and that guys right femur, your pinky finger, going right in between the eyes, your pelvis going straight through that guys rib cage! It's totally awesome. Desecrating your own grave and body, to kill zombies.

Just so you know Shatterstar comes from the Mojoverse, which you're probably at least somewhat familiar with from the 90s cartoon, where he was a gladiator. Domino is a mutant with the power to affect probability. I don't know why Marvel decided they needed another mutant with that power when they already had the Scarlet Witch and Longshot, but whatever.
-
Okay, I'm not gonna finish that stereotypical gay joke.
But yeah, funny thing about ShatterStar and being on Earth and away from Mojoverse, is that eventually they made him gay. 2009 in an issue of X-Factor, he and another guy named Rictor became a couple.
And that bugged the HELL out of Liefeld. He's all, "SHATTERSTAR'S NOT GAY?! WTFBBQ?!"
The response came back with "Too bad. You left Marvel. Deal with it." (More Or Less)
So given ShatterStar and Deadpool both being Liefeld creations... the real irony seems to be that these characters become better characters WITHOUT Liefeld!
Funny, huh? :)

Good review just 2 things to clear up
1) Shatter Star, like myself, is from another dimension not another planet, the Mojoverse *the said with a Groan, along with Longshot, Spiral, and Mojo
2) ALPHA FLIGHT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE X-MEN!!!!!!!! I'm sorry to be so strong about this but it's true and everyone gets this wrong, in the teams whole history they've had about 4 mutants in their roster, Wolverine was never on the team despite plans for him to be on it, that's as connected as the 2 groups are, Wolverine was almost gonna be in Alpha Flight once before it started, that's it. Linkara I'm not trying to attack you or really attack anyone I'm just trying to educate people...I like Alpha Flight and the misconception can get annoying

That's it. I've got it. Nobody actually likes Liefeld's work (well, almost nobody). Liefeld comics sell because hipsters buy them "ironically". The same may also apply to every other facet of his popularity.
It's diabolical. It's insane. In fact, it's so insane... nah, he wouldn't working on something that makes people dumber... or would he...?

Doesn't Cable have a robot arm or something? I bet that's why he weighs so much.
Anyway, good episode. I can't say I ever really cared much about the X-Men, either, for about the same reasons; with Spider-Man, you can start reading from just about any point and you don't have to worry too much about his history, with X-Men, even with the simplest stories involving them, I feel lost and asking a dozen questions just to keep up. On one hand, I admire the vast history and character relationships...on the other hand, I don't have the patience to get involved with them all.

Yeah, the Continuity Alarm would be going ape bananas if you tried covering Weapon X.
Which I think actually might be a good thing to cover in the near future because if I recall what the Weapon X that's set to appear in X-Force next is...
...Deadpool.
Now maybe I haven't watched enough back episodes yet, but given his cult status, rise in popularity, and going from a Liefeld rip off of Deathstroke the Terminator, to fourth wall breaking funny-hit-man...
...I think some coverage may be worth while. Plus, he even got his own series eventually, which if I recall at the time, wasn't terribly popular, so the writers and artists just did whatever the heck they wanted with Deadpool and GOT AWAY WITH IT!
I'm curious to see Deadpool get the Linkara treatment. I am VERY curious and intrigued as to what that'd be like.

03.22.2011 - 00:44 | RydelBTW, there were some double bladed swords like that (I know the Japanese had one called the souba).
The idea is that with 2 cuts that close together, the wound is much harder to stitch up, making the wounded person more likely to die.
Odd weapon choice considering Professor X's views on killing

Why is a stumpy fat woman is named Thumbelina?
Stryfe's massive computer screens has the ultimate in picture in picture. Too bad all the pictures are different versions of the color bars.
