KISS Comics

NOTE: Yes, I know, I mispronounce Norwich at the end. Also, yes, it says "Giacomo" and not "Glacomo." I somehow saw it wrong.

OH 90s Kid.......no...just no...put that shovel down young man and go back to your Sega!
lol, I recall I was in a Hy-Vee store one time when I was younger and I saw a Kiss comic book with a wierd girl named "Kismet" in it, and then later on I remember they did a special comic book written in blood or it looked like it was written in blood. So I am kinda courious to see if these two are the comic books you are reviewing. If I find out it isn't that is still cool, it will still be good either way :D

I agree, that particular statement was just begging for a Phantom of the Opera reference. To easy I suppose...
Also, just so you know, Giacomo(which is James in Italian)is actually pronounced Jaaa-KA-moe.
In all seriousness though, great review Linkara, and the Todd cameo was a very nice suprise.
P.S. I really hope someone was able to talk 90's Kid out of digging up Kurt Cobain.

Hey Linkara, there is this Marvel comic book I remember a long time ago called "Saint Sinner" you should review. My brother brought it a long time ago and one day I snuck a peek at it, man it was messed up.
Clive Barker also had a hand in making the comic book
It starts out with a simple easy storyline of a teenage boy starting to hear voices in his head and become possessed by a evil force that makes him kill his friends (and it implies he raped and murder a cheerleader too but it doesn't show it) and then when it makes him try to murder his mom and dad, he backs out and tries to drown himself and then gets saved by a angel in the form of a black woman who he in return "thanks her" by choking her to death.
But that is not the f--ked up part.Later on, it sort of double-crosses you into this confusing, wierd splashpage of a exposition involving creepy souls and outer-body experience storylines that make no sense and finally when you have enough brainpower to wrap your head around it it turns out the boy is possessed by both a demon and a angel. If you ever get the chance to you should definitely review it someday. :)

Well, I guess Linkara's lack of KISS knowledge explains why he didn't mention Gene Simmons' son Nick Simmons deciding to break out as a pro comic artist last year...And then immediately being exposed as a plagiarist who ripped off several panels & story bits from Bleach (dated reference anyway). Apparently crappy comics kind of run in the family!
Linkara's endorsement of "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You II" (it's actually a cover) does indeed confirm that he has kickass taste in music. ROCK ON.
'90s Kid being cued upon "Nirvana reunion": Classic. XD
Linkara + Todd: Always great to see two of my favorite reviewers here together. And don't worry Todd, there are plenty more crappy comics starring musicians you can cover...Anyone for a Punisher/Eminem crossover?
Wait, masterthecreater tried to take over the world once? DAMMIT, we have been DA friends for over a year or two now, & he hasn't even told me about this once, let alone let me help out!! Where is the friendship, man? He is SO not getting that sweet VP position now when I take over the world!
Also, while I should post this on your blog, is it too late to suggest "Megadoomer" for the spaceship's name (Zim for the win)?

02.28.2011 - 21:49 | jjflashOuch Link! You got dissed by a guy who reviewed Hannah Montana products.
Might as well put a paper bag of shame over your head now. LOL
But seriously, who the hell would use a KISS coffin...?
Ok, I take that one back. I probably will use a KISS coffin when I shuffle off the coil.
-
03.01.2011 - 02:26 | GoobianThe coffin is for display purposes. Like if you have a club or a bar with a place to display it. It actually has a button to play a KISS song even though I don't know which one or if you can choose. There was a Drew Carey episode years ago where he accidentally ordered one online on a discounted coffins website instead of a tasteful one for his Dad lol. When the coffin was slowly being lowered in, it pushed the button and the music played.

02.28.2011 - 22:14 | mcgovernttNice work, as per usual. I am surprised though at two things:
1.) You didn't make a reference to "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" during the Psycho Circus comic (then again maybe you thought that would be just too much "Who" for one month)
2.) You didn't make any reference to the Ultimate Warrior's comics during the 4K comic, as both consist of "EXTREME" artwork and pretentious codswallop posing as a "deep story".

The Horror!
I mean My god! You have reviewed a number of bad Comics in the past, but these two take the cake!
They werent even trying to tell a story
they just assume the reader would go with whatever BS they came up with
well anyway regarding that biding autions
are the cards going to be sign by you and your creator, pple will bid a lot more money if you do
assumin that you were serious about the aution

MMM that's kind of a hard one, modern Green Lantern has a LOT of backstory, but I think you'll be fine reading REBIRTH of Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, It was the first Lantern solo book I read and hooked me right away (It has a lot of glimpses of the past but it's a retcon so is a good starting point in my opinion).
After that if you're interested I really recommend you read Sinestro Corps War, it's definitely one of the best events of DC (and one very self contained in just a couple of titles). Everything that happens next is just for fans, the Blackest Night althou very cool is pretty much fan service.
Hope I helped

I also don’t know much about KISS. I’m more into the most interesting performer(s) I come across in my lifetime.
Thanks for the history lesson, Todd. BTW, that laugh sounds like it belongs to The Joker.
10:52- At least 90s Kid’s not holding the BFG during his moment.
I should get myself a KISS 4000 sometime. =)
16:01- Weirdest. Orgy. Ever.
21:13- And “I’m” the lord of the harvest. (“Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2” joke.)
In speaking of Image Comics, I look forward to your review of the first issue of Spawn (aka, the only Image character I have any knowledge of because of the live action film from 1997).
These sound like warrior comics!!!
