The song sounded awesome in unison like that, you should make that the new theme :P

Agreed. The sing-along of the theme song just made me well up.

Yeah but it should be with the other TGWTG staff again cuz that was the shit!!

Quite an ambitious project doing a live version of ATT4W but when a live audience sings along with your theme song...you KNOW you've made it!

    Kudos Linkara!

I've never gotten a message in this early i should make it a good one.

    hmmmmmm

Make Dr.Insano review Lady Death as punishment for the shit he's put you through

That was me who asked about which X-Force #1 he was reviewing and requested he do the 90's kid voice. This panel was a lot of fun, and it was great to meet you, Linkara.

I'm glad to have been a part of this panel, and I enjoyed singing along with your song. :-D

Also, I was two seats away from Scarlett. :-P

A great show that was only let down by the cameraman's creaky tripod mount. Sounds like a plastic model skeleton doing yoga.

Seriously, some of the funniest jokes you've ever had. You had me in stitches. I loved the audience participation aspect of this.

Congrats Linkara! Your a real celeb now, I'll go inform the news crews!

The best part about this was I was one of the people to suggest this! He picked my comic! :D

I went to MAGfest too, unfortunately, I was locked out because the room hit critical mass. Really sucked. :

That seems like it was a lot of fun. If I had money and didn't hate crowded places, and had a good schedule and... well there are a lot of reasons I couldn't have, but if they didn't exist I would totally have gone.

    I also wish I was there!!;_;
  • kingrat2314
Great live review. I just wish the audience weren't trying (and failing) to be funny.

I agree. In all of the magfest videos I saw the peanut gallery got pretty annoying. I've been to enough cons to know that that's just what happens when you get a bunch of like-minded nerds together, though, but when your watching it online and NOT in the actual room, it just seems annoying and childish.

I donno how Linkara felt about it while he was doing his show, he handled it really well, though. Just ignoring the dumb comments, and playing off of one or two good ones. Everyone singing along to the theme was fun, though.

Of course it gets unpredictable when you attempt to entertain crowds in person. That's kind of the point, to crack open the performer's protective shell and allow for the audience rowdiness to just flood in uncontrollably. It's a really pure and immediate kind of feedback, and for someone who wants to grow as a performer there is no substitute.

Wow ... live shows are really fun! Congrats Linkara on making it work! Your jokes were really hilarious!

*sigh* ... Shame I'm in the Middle East and can never make it to one of these for real ... *sob* ... but I can settle for watching it! And it was SOOO worth it!

    Keep it up, Linkara! =D

I can tell that you had a great time at MAGfest, Lewis. I really enjoyed watching this video, and your review on Atari Force. I also enjoy the video game console jokes/references.

  • Grafenburg
    this was fun.
the spy in the beginning looked like the phantom got a sex change and stole cyclopes's glasses.
it's weird, i remember when Iron Liz first appeared in your reviews, a few didnt like her. Now more people seem to have accepted her.
  • Germnoble
    How much did Wasserman cost?
  • nuetrol
Wait, that comic was supposed to be a lead in for Berserk? Uhh, there's a transcript (sort of) of the manual's story right here, and no mention at all of the "Atari Force":

    http:// www.captainsnes.com/2003/ 01/04/252-i-dont-think- aiee-is-an-official- heston-quote-2/
    (remove the spaces, of course)

Knowing Atari, they probably changed their minds. Several times.

You misunderstand: the minicomics were just pack-ins without any real connection to the video games (Star Raiders notwithstanding).

Great show, and great camera work, Liz!

the closest I've ever gotten to something like this is meeting Linkara at Fall-con here in MN. :(
It was still awesome, and actually got me back into his videos.

"Space Medicine For Atari," now that's a band name.

Maybe he earned the rank of commander by being the only trouble shooter able to get the Jaguar CD to consistently work, hell, anyone able to do that should be given the rank of emperor of the universe.

Also, holy shit you got your own Wassermon fight song.
  • JimmydelaKopin  - It's amazing!

Atari Force is one of the few Dc titles I've collected and kept all these years. I love the rich character development, the gorgeous artwork, the intricate plots...
...and yet, Linkara can still make me laugh at the pecadilloes of the comic. Didn't think it was possible!
Linkara: not just a man, he is the man!
  • mrskippy
    avatar
No, Yor is The Man. Listen to the theme songs.
"He is a Man, punch, wears a purdy hat"
    vs.
"Yor's world, he's the man, Yor's world he's the man"
see? It's in the fine print.
  • Charred Newt

I sang along with the people watching this. It's so catchy.
I love how putting "space" before any word automatically makes it awesome and special. In theory.
  • TBTabby
Atari Force was certainly better than the other Atari comic, "Adventures of Atari." It ran in the pages of a short-lived magazine called Atarian, and you can find it online at AtariAge.com. It was about a superhero named Atari (real imaginative, guys) who protected Atari from the evil forces of Ninja-Endo, an insulting Asian caricature the likes of which have not been seen since WWII ended. I'd recommend it for a review, but it's too short to make for a proper episode. Too bad, because it makes Howard & Nester look like Mouse Guard by comparison.

As for Atari Force...it looks like the ending encourages us to bridge the gap between issues by playing Berserk. So I guess the second issue probably begins with the thief in a maze fleeing robots and a giant smiley face.

    ...HOLY CARP, ATARI INVENTED MACHINIMA!

    AAAAAAAH

I've been making films for the past 5 years and have grown to hate that tripod noise. Maybe just....you know....loosen that lil nob on the size.....AHH MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!
  • THOOM
    avatar
I was also was thinking "loosen it a little." But if Liz did that, Liz would have to hold the camera steady during static shots, so it wouldn't tilt down. Still, that's what "I" would do..but y'know...LOL

This is something that I never thought I would see. Linkara doing AT4W live and it worked rather well. I hope thst he does keep doing these in future when ever he can if its possible.
  • jalford

I'm guessing this was the ashcan edition of issue #1 and not the standard DC Comics one.
  • Fin
Great show, I wish I could have attended. The audience was annoying at times, but surprisingly not that bad...at least not in comparison to some other live performances I've gone to.

It's a blessing- I mean, it's a shame you couldn't find Malibu's Street Fighter series, though. Perhaps it'll make for a good future episode if you ever do get your hands on it.
