At first I thought this was a review of an X-Men comic and a Star Trek comic. I'm so glad I was wrong :D

Who was that delightful woman at the beginning of the video? Oh and good job getting out of Twilight, very sneaky Mr. Linkara.
Dr. McCoy(s)= Awesome.

lol Great episode Linkara.

Also, now I really want to see a Star Trek/Star Wars crossover. In other words, Star Trek: Nemesis. God, what a bad film.

Awesome review as usual

There was a Star Trek/X-Men novel too, but I think that was the Next Generation crew. I never read it. I love Star Trek, and I love X-Men...but together, come on! Really?! Ugggg.... Great review by the way. I very much enjoyed this one. And awesome reference to Trelane! His names doesn't get thrown out enough. Nothing like the precursor to the Q Continuum to mess things up. This comic would have been better if it WAS about Trelane!
• Mikon
avatar
Oh god. I think I owned that novel!

The TNG/X-Men books were actually pretty good. Still a kinda silly concept, but they managed to make it sound plausible, and from what I remember (it's been a few years since I read them) the story was pretty solid.

Interestingly, I'm told the books were actually a sequel to a TNG/X-Men comic.

I wonder if Linkaras' heard of them.
• chewee123  - The Novel
The novel you speak of is called Star Trek/X-Men: Planet X. Its a sequel to another crossover comic between the TNG crew and the X-Men called Second Contact. I haven't read the comic but the novel is ok. It took me some time to comprehend Star Trek and X-Men together in the same book.
• writrzblok  - X:men/STNG Book

Planet X was the name of the novel. Sad to say, I still have it. I think it even references the first meeting between Kirk's crew and the X-men.
• Colme  - Nice

Fantastic, even with your extra projects you still manage to keep us entertained with updates from Atop the Fourth Wall. Kudos to you. :)

Is there a place to the song that play when pyo (is that how you spell is name?) take over the bridge? I find it surprisingly catchy.
• Mikon
avatar
Poyo, I think, and it's called "Star Trekkin'" There's a good music video for it using the Flintstones here: http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=_vPWE2Ebz48

I believe it's spelled "pollo," as in the Spanish word for chicken. But I could be wrong in that regard.
• Nyar
avatar
But Linkara does not pronounce it as "Pollo" but as "Poio". (that is in spanish pronunciation...)
• Semudara
avatar
Maybe, but it's spelled "Pollo". Linkara said so himself.
• Not Shelley Duvall
"purposes of love?" aw...
nice summation of that episode.
in reference to your hatred of that spoiler page: i have a feeling you wouldn't like "columbo." a show that reveals the murderer/criminal right from the get-go and proceeds to show how peter falk ingeniously figures it out ("just one more thing...").
WHOA! bishop! hello, muscles! last time i saw biceps like that was...the commercials for minneapolis's guthrie theatre's production of "macbeth." srsly. macbeth was RIPPED.
pollo is adorable.
• Linkara
avatar
The thing is, Columbo isn't REALLY a mystery show, or at least it's a different kind. Kind of like how in Law and Order: Criminal Intent, we sometimes know who did it, but we don't know WHY.
• Darkherdt1725

Great Episode Linkara.

That was a one crazy idea for a crossover.

• Jia
who thought this was a good idea? :S
• NCscritic  - you were kidding, right?
that Twilight thing was just a joke, right? your not REALLY gonna review that graphic novel, are you? please don't. Twilight is so horrible, I can't even bare to watch things that make fun of it. it's just. that. awful.
• QuestionTheMajority
avatar
So... There IS a Twilight comic book? ... Who, in God's name, actually thought they could entice the average illiterate high school girl (or at this point, any average illiterate adult woman with disturbing inclinations toward pedophilia) to read comic books?
• Jazzimus Prime
avatar
Well, as we say at the bookstore: Sex sells, but Oprah and Stephenie Meyer sell better.
• Maealoril
avatar
1. Its more like a Twilight manga than comic really but yes it does exist.
2. What Pedophilia? a 17 year old vamp played by a 20something year old douche with the personality of a 100 year old grampa does not for pedophilia make.
3. Physically impossible to read AND be illiterate, regardless of your opinion of the quality of the work. Just getting that out there.
• FullmetalNinja25
avatar
Why is it called Issue #1 if its just a one-shot? Also what the hell were people smoking that they thought this crossover was a good idea?
• Jazzimus Prime
avatar
Someone really should have put a spoiler warning on that expository page. Or, you know, left it out completely.

And I see someone already beat me to mentioning the Star Trek/X-Men novel. If I recall, there was some kind of planet of mutants? I dunno, I only read the back, decided it was the stuff of bad fanfiction, and put it back on the shelf.

If you want to know another crackier pairing, try Archie and the Punisher.
• Fyrmer

Funny this is, Archie Meets the Punisher wasn't that bad.
• QuestionTheMajority
avatar
That and I think Archie/Punisher was supposed to be a joke. I'm still kicking myself for not picking it up when I had the chance.
• MadClawMannnnn
Next Generation my favorite Star Trek series after the original :) :cheer: B) :woohoo:

Just curious: Did we see the apparently magnificent page 26, the one that had its own separate penciler and inker working on that page and that page alone? If you didn't show it in the video, did it at least look decent?
• tegustajazz
HAHAHAHAHAHA a reference to 'The Room', much appreciated

"Where No Man Has Gone Before" recap had me pretty much on the floor. You rule, sir.

What's weird for me is that, earlier today, I read an article on TV Tropes about "Did You Just Punch Out Cthulu?" Granted, the trope name wasn't literal, but I think it ties in rather aptly, seeing as how one of the villains literally punches the Enterprise...

Awesome review Linkara. I totally thought you were going to be all "APRIL FOOLS" when you started with the Twilight thing, but I like what you did better.

Quite a lot better than what LordKat did.... *Shudder.*
• Thunder_Christo

Why are there "ink assists" what you needed help to trace a drawing wtf?
• Linkara
avatar
Inkers do more than just trace - often they'll correct art problems and emphasize different aspects than the penciler did.

For example, a lot of Rob Liefeld's early artwork was improved because the inker fixed some of his anatomical errors.
• xkaarinax
avatar
It wouldn't take an inker to improve Liefeld's artwork - my six year old cousin could do it.

Wait people were pressuring you to review the twilight comic?
This is news to me.
I certainly wouldn't want you to read that.
I have to much respect for you.
