I feel so dirty admitting I own this fucking comic. I can't decide if the fact that it was "mail order only" makes it a bit less forgivable, since it's impossible to rate the worth of something you have never seen. Regardless I actually took the coupon out of the issue of Wizard sent them a check, and received this trash.

So, I am the first on this site to write a comment? Well, amke the best out of it.
First, your summary of the last time you reviewed Doom`s IV was just classy. I mean, at the moment you hit yourself with your hat I know this thing would be harmful for you. But that Doom IV was considered a Fantastic Four rip off... sure, if you think about it there are parallels but as you said: Fantastic four doesn`t suck. Well, at last as long as Reed Richards doesn`t get "messias crazy"
Doom 1/2... wow. Reminds me of the titles of the naked gun sequels. Also what`s next? Doom Pi?
Oh a reference to Trinity? That`s nice. I really liked Nigma and his backround in this story, even if the rest of Trinity was for me a bit to weird. Not that trinity is a bad storyline but it really takes time to comprehend all the information in it.
Burn`s anatmomy... dear lord, the legs and feet are perhabs the worst artwork for this I ever saw. I mean even the legs of the Warrior looked a bit better than this?
Cyber Idol... really? Cyber Idol?
That`s not a villain name, that is a title for Courtney Gears.
This goes out to all the robots cross the galaxy....
Also this entire "I was once a man follish like you" speech that`s going on is just... its stupid. I know there are villains who can make something like this look descent, but not in the first (or half) issue of a series. Why? BEcause we know nothing about this guy beside he likes to talk with a lof of ellipses.
And yeah, he wants to "collect" them all? Where is the Pokémon reference.
Why you still learned to spell your name... oh god really, that was necessary. Brilliant use of something which could becoe the next villain Stu Internet meme.
Character biography... what biography?
There are only pictures with name and the information "unknown", because the author is to stupid to come up with something.
And more villain ranting of "everything will be mine and... you know what, Giovanni in "pokemon live" could say it in less words.
It will all bemine, power so divine, I`ll tell the sun to shine on only me...
And nice explanation what evolution really is.
I mean gesh. I can understand that there are villains out there who say "mankind is a failure, I will improve them/ create a new species by destroying them" because their plan is a weird mix of them deciding e.g. to "bring up" the next evolutionary step or what they think it is by "speeding up" the process. You know, changing the DNA (activating some sequences and deactivate other ones) how it would perhaps changed in a few thousand or billion years or something. But this... also how did he evolve? He just "improved" himself by turning into a cyborg Superman rip off without legs.
And the articl...

03.02.2010 - 17:06 | KrayorikI completely agree. In fact, I've been trying to get front page for a while, so I can request a comic. Everyone, lend your support for a Linkara review of (hopefully) the first manga on AT4W- Digimon V-tamer! You can find it on www.mangafox.com
just tart to type digimon and it will be one of the first things to come up.

03.05.2010 - 22:22 | KrayorikWhy not? Bad characters, bad wrintg, bad artwork, lame story, and the absolute worst motivation for any villain that I've ever seen, digimon or otherwise. I'm a digimon fan as well, but this thing needs to get taken down. Hard.

03.02.2010 - 05:23 | MadSurgeThis is beyond moronic. A whole mini-issue just for the villain to blabber a bit how he's going to knock the heroes down? The female of the group with feet that make Chinese binding look like a joke? Liefeld that spouts about comics and contradicting his own points?!? :X I'm WAY more interested on dr. Linksano getting fumigated.
By the way, great work as always man. I'm not even interested that much in superhero comeics, and even I am interested by your stuff! :cheer:

Rahhel, he couldn't be. The Doctor Insano that we have isn't the same one as the Schlumper Insano. The Schlumper Insano was from an alternate Earth (I think it was Earth-982?) where Spoony is Spoonette, and there are other female versions of the men we know. In addition, Linksano is just an alternate universe's Insano. So, he probably wouldn't have any relation to the Schlumpers, either.

You know, it's too bad Mechakara didn't just steal one of Dr. Insano's Anti-Magic Field Generators (complete with dongle thingie). Taking over his original Earth would have been so much easier that way.
But wow, I didn't even know they made 1/2 comics. That's just... stupid. Figures it would have Liefeld's name stapled onto it.

03.02.2010 - 06:13 | SaturnSo, all those commenting so far, what time is it by you? Because here in Texas it's 6 in the morning, which is in no way Monday night.
Ah well. I shouldn't be complaining. Nice choice of intro music, Linkara. That's one of my favorite musicals. And the article from Leifeld at the end reminded me of the director commentary from any given Uwe Boll movie.
That being said, I love the new Dr. Link-sano thing going on now. Although I still say that the original Dr. Insano is the best, and yours (while awesome) will never replace Spoony's.
And what a coincidence! I was just watching that episode of Spoony's FF8 review today! Dongly thing, the robot grabby things... Dr. Insano isn't very exact with his names, is he?

Normally, I don't care for needless subplots in otherwise plotless entertainment, but that bit at the end had me chuckling all day. :D

Oh, and speaking of "kung fu", you might want to check out the Jackie Chan comic made by Top called Spartan X. That's a doozy.

It would seem to me like a 1/2 issue would count as half a full issue, yet I just can't tell if this is logically one half of a longer one, it just feels like a teaser issue to a series except a very poor one at that.
Having a comic series with an Issue #0 makes more sense, though debatable if any sort of "gimmick" issue is an effective marketing tool.

okay, if they don't know anything about grimm, what was the point in having that bio box for him?
nice use of liefeld's ceral metaphor.
considering the downspiral today's music is going in, i agree; the future IS dumb.
oh, pollo...you rock.
i'm predicting some AWESOME insano/linksano fights in the future. can't wait.

I'm a little confused here. What possible reason does AU Dr. Insano have for wanting to destroy Linkara? I'm willing to buy the 'for the sake of evil science' excuse from him since that's pretty much the character motivation for the original Dr. Insano, but what did Linkara do to the man? Even if it's because the Linkara of his universe is unreachable right now, what did the Linkara of his universe even do to the guy? The Linkara of this universe doesn't really bother Dr. Insano all that often so it's pretty easy to assume that the one from his universe didn't either.
This isn't to say I don't like AU Dr. Insano and I'm sure you've gone through all the little details (probably even some we'll never get to see on screen) about the nuances of his particular universe. I'm a pretty big fan of both you and Spoony and the idea that there could be a cool crossover is exciting, but my nerd sensibilities just hold you to a higher standard than most critics and I was sort of expecting to get a little more of an explanation by now. Even if it's a stupid one like the Linkara of his universe took the last pudding cup from the lunch line during 2nd grade.
-
03.02.2010 - 23:34 | Elzarynn
Remember when he first showed up? He said "A new universe to conquer!" The first step would be to systematically eliminate everyone who would stand against him. And since Linkara is the most heroic member of Team TGWTG, he obviously must be the first to go.
That or he just wants his hat.
What's weirder to me is that Linksano is from a universe where Lewis became the mad scientist, and yet he calls Insano - Noah - his counterpart. So who became the AU Spoony one?
-
03.07.2010 - 17:03 | GalivenLet's see...from that universe Linksano is the mad scientist, Spoonkara is the comic reviewer, so... maybe Harvey Finevoice is the Spoony One?
"I HEARD that, Curtis. Okay, I said it, now where's my paycheck?"
