01.12.2010 - 04:50 | DoctorJhon2009Neat, a new review. I actually asked this earlier in your other video but Linkara, have you ever heard of Batman vs. Predator comic? I have it and let me tell ya, it makes some of the crappy comics you've reviewed look decent.
Anyway, keep these coming!

While it is true that "dunkel" (as an adjective) means "dark" and "kinder" means "children", it could just as well mean "Kinder des Dunkels" because "das Dunkel" means "the dark(ness)", so it could mean "children of the dark(ness)" as well. It's not really clear.

01.12.2010 - 05:04 | OgawaBurukkuOh yeah, Poison, there's a real metal band :pinch:
Man, what a dull dull dull comic. Sorry your butt hurts.

Yeah, this is the sort of book I could read in a few minutes and forget what it was about in the next few minutes.
Too bad the Brass Age was littered with them--and boy!, are such books litter!
Also, good for pointing out the horrid art style. DC's pseudo-Vertigo books (the books that weren't surreal enough to be Vertigo) usually employed artists who tried to make the books look like Vertigo books, but it really made them banal. Better to stand out than to look generic, I say.
Great review as always Linkara!
(And look! first page! Woot! Such an honor! ...sorry, had to do it. B) )

I think this part is some kind of try to make a word sound kryptic.
Why should they use english words that makes a little bit of sense, when they can use german words and create nonsense?
At first I does´nt even realise, that ist said "dunkelkinder" because of the diffrent pronunciation between german and (american) english.

01.12.2010 - 06:17 | JIWellesI'm realy surprised of how many appearances Batman or the Batlogo have in this comic eventhough it's published by Marvel. Hasn't DC ever made a point out of it legally? :0

01.12.2010 - 17:07 | Remake_TrapWhile you're right about that this has more in common with Buffy then that anime; DHY is about a girl who comes from a long line of demon hunters where both this and buffy feature valley girl teenage cheerleaders who are totally unaware that they are "special".

Hilarious as always, Linkara!
I am surprised that there wasn't many Twilight jokes >> But the Batman ones made up for it.
"It then dawns on her that her parents are dead! But now she can become Batman and avenge them, as well as cementing a hatred for rock and roll."
Genius XD

This is kind of embarrassing, but I didn't recognize the opening music until my second time through. Even worse, I was actually beginning to look for it, and I DO NOT want to be associated in any way with Buffy.
Also, how could you miss the "Lost Boys" refrences? A biker gang of vampires, seems pretty obvious.
-
01.12.2010 - 06:54 | DakotaCruzMy guess, without googling, is that this comic is from the mid to late 90s
it has that pungent smell!

I went through the entire review and I am still surprised this was allowed to go to merchandisers. That's is really bad when there's not at least a coherent plot to follow and the promise of seeing the main character(s) in action are denied. This is actually my first post and I have been following your series for a while here ever since Sci spy #1. I hope I am not being to pushy with this question but is there a reason bad (good with Blue Beetle) superhero comics are the only ones so far evaluated. I mean I am glad to know which superhero comics to stay away from but I was wondering if there has been a bad comic not involving superheroes that is just plain horrible? Anyway that was what I wondered and continue to gain strength and patience because you'll need it to review these bad comics.

Since the majority of comic books are related to superheroes, it's easier to find bad comics relating to them. However, if I were to look at the list of episodes I've done...
-SCI Spy #1
-Godzilla vs. Barkley
-Star Trek #1
-Neutro #1 (doesn't count because he ISN'T a superhero despite the comic's protests)
-World of Warcraft #2-3
-The Marriage of Hercules and Xena #1
-Air Raiders #1
-Mickey Mantle #2
-Adventures of the Kool-Aid Man
-Silent Hill: Dying Inside #1-5
-Doom #1
-Bimbos in Time #1
-James Bond Jr. #3
There we go, fifteen reviews that deal with characters who aren't superheroes out of the 64 episodes I've done. Admittedly, not THAT many, but it does happen. ^_^

01.12.2010 - 08:10 | Matthew GLinkara, I would tell you that Dunkelkinder isn't a real word. It's german - dunkel means dark, kinder means children and if you pronunce it in german it doesn't sound goofy but it still makes no sense, but you said "check the comments" and I noticed that other people already explained it (like 4 times in 26 comments).
BUT I DID IT ANYWAY HAH!
-
That was pretty bad. Also... why would the cop just randomly shoot someone in the head who's obviously a burn victim? Uuuh, my head hurts even thinking about it. Maybe I should do some of that comic book training as well with The Linkara 10-Minute Training Program as seen on AT4W.
Because he wasn't really a cop, he was that mental looking guy from the cover.

01.12.2010 - 08:24 | TylorLoved the review. But I hate to say it I actually liked that comic when I was a kid. But then again I got it out of the quarter bins at the local comic shop so that should have shown the quality of it. Looking back the comic was bad, very bad.
