Great job linkara, you are as great a comic reviewer as i could imagine. at one point i was actually thinking about getting some of the graphic novels you've talked about, now im very much glad i didn't buy them, keep up the tremendous work, oh and thanks for cloning spoony for us.

I love your voice work when you read and review these comics Linkara, have you rever throught about going into voice acting?

It kinda takes me back to my childhood when my older sister would read to me her comic books partically the "Ren and Stimpy" and "Beavis and Butt-head" issues and also do the voices.

Wow...its hard to imagine how something as awesome as batman and rock music together in one creation can be so terrible.
• Mutough

All that devilish rock music... Only Batman can stop them.

Surprised at the lack of Creedence's song in the beginning.

I don't think Creedence's "Fortunate Son" would have fit though, It's kind of an anti-war song and the comic had nothing to do with war

Yeah...partically "Smoke on the Water"

This really could have worked as a "Silver Age" comic I hate to say. But as a 1999 comic, its just shit.

I think the person who wrote this comic was on drugs and this is what he saw as a hallucination. That makes more sense then this comic.

Why does a comic like this exist?

Great Episode, Linkara. I think this is the first time I heard you say "f*ck"

Funk and Wagnell is what I said. :P

Okay, glad we cleared that up.
BTW Can you tell me why this is called "Fortunate Son"?

And when you started using the Superboy Prime voice I thought the Crow or Crowe or however you spell his name would shout out the imfamous "I'll kill you to death" line.

Basically the Fortunate Son in the comic is the manager Lazarus, who was the twin son of fakeElvis whose parents gave him to a rich family to raise, as their parents were too poor to raise two children.

This was partially based on Elvis having a dead twin brother in real life, called Aaron I think.

The Fortunate Son is the manager for being brought up by rich people only to end up hawking other people's music, instead of growing up in a shed and being "special".

Wow cant imagine how you or why you deduced that but if were doing it then sorry Linkara Gotta say it. The guy on the far left with the ruffled shirt is Freddy Mercury, sorry know you didnt want to know but i couldnt help it

WTF: Batman!
If Rock and Roll is Evil, then how do you think he views Heavy Metal?

One more Reason Superman > Batman.

O.o holy shit. I own this one too! xD. and you got to it before i could tell ya about it xP

And this one sucked BAD. Thank you for bashing it.
• warman40k
So Batman based his "thoughts" and "opinions" around one instance instead of using his, oh I don't know, his fraking detective skills!?! Taking by a case-by-case basis, like a real detective does?
Rock and Roll and Batman should have been cool and awesome beyond all words, but NOOOO!
• RocketGruntKenny
This reminds me of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
• Pie3492  - Nice review.

Batman and music don't go together.
And they never will.

Ha, you got Paw into this. Awesome!

On a different note, this makes me want to draw Batman with bunny ears.

Wow. Just wow. That was. Horible. *shakes head* If he thought rock was bad, I wonder what he thought of metal?!
• Dr. Fibonacci
If he says anything bad about Iron Maiden, I'm taking my chances with the Joker.
• neverseen
My god! The first time I've seen you with a different hat! What hath happened?!?!

P.S: Awesome video, you rock.
P.S.S: Terrible joke above.
Edit.S.S.S: Why the hell is it called "Fortunate son" anyway?

I actually believed that Batman didn't like music at all... But anyway, This is definitely going to my Linkara's favorite episodes list.

And remember kids: "ROCK AND ROLL AIN'T NOISE POLLUTION!"

(I'm surprised this song wasn't in this video, but I actually don't care. God Bless AC/DC and Linkara)

Keep up the good work!

Being the music fan I am, I'm never looking at Batman the same way.

... In fact if I ever got the chance I'd probably punch him in the face, and then immediately apologize.

I'd expect this sort of thing to be made in the 50s and given out for free like those funky Teen Titan's "Just Say No" books of the 80s. But this is the first time I've seen a book who's "message" is so twisted and blatently propgandad. Given TimeWarner's music devision is pretty big, I'm surprised they let "MUSIC IS BAD!" pass.

And after seeing the first why Batman hates rock so much, I'm waiting for another book which shows Batman have a flashack where young Bruce is about to put a quarter into a PacMan machine, but his dad stops him and tells him that the Zorro movie will start in a few minutes and there is no time for games, this VIDEO GAMES ARE EVIL AND CAUSE KIDS TO KILL!

Good call on the "God Gave Rock&Roll To You" to sell the point.
• Zeypher  - Great review

I've always enjoyed your reviews Linkara. And while I take shame in never owning that many comics, watching you bash the bad ones is ALWAYS entertaining.

Keep up the great work!

Batman FA!L. Good job, Linkara, for pointing out one of the biggest atrocities I've seen in a long time.
• SpotTheShingo
Course Robin looks 50, he's still played by Burt Ward in this comic, who'd be over 50 by now! And Batman? It's George Clooney! Nice TMNT live concert ref, too!
• Hyena Dandy
You see, I read this comic. And when Kung-Fu Girlfriend started going on about the song burning people up I was hoping that she had some sort of conspiracy with Not!Elvis who really HAD become a god, and they were trying to bring him back by summoning him with music. However, most other musicians couldn't stand the force of Not!Elvis' deitiness and burned up.
• bebepopjr  - :D
very funny! and an aweful comic. cant wait till your next one
• Hitnwey
Good job as always, Linkara. This long review makes up for the short one last week (longer is always better in my books :P)

I do have to say, be careful when you read out quotes from books, as you often skip or otherwise misread the line. Not that I'm trying to be critical (I'd be much worse, as I've learned from experience), it's just that I saw it 3 times in this review alone, and have noted the same problem ("") in others.

*awaits the dozen "SO WHAT" replies :P*
• neverseen
SO WHAT? I'M STILL A ROCK STAR! I-
God I need a life other than making jokes.
• Linkara
avatar
Sometimes for the sake of brevity I will skip a line, like an unnecessary sentence - it's kind of like how in a review of a movie you might not get the full speech someone is making.

But yeah, no excuse for when I accidentally write out a line incorrectly. ^_~

Hey, so Two-Face likes Black Sabbath? Who do you think the Joker likes. Weird Al?

I noticed the errors too. It's okay. I don't think most people will be mean about your critique, and even if they were... I think it's better than simply commenting "another great video Linkara!" (since that goes without saying). :3
• ProfessorOtaku
Batman rocks out on his Bat-Axe! He fears no pop!

I love the Camel Cigarette voice you have going on there.

I'd almost say that its 'I-zaak' like the Middle East name but the guy is white-as-the-pure-driven- snow.
