I always like your reviews, but I don't follow DC enough to always get the jokes. Glad to see Marvel can make a bad comic too ;)
Thanks for the great show.

Serious.
I bet the only thing that rivals his comic collection, is his porno collection.

Dude, you already knew from the minute you pressed the send button, that everyone was going to rip you a new asshole for your comment. So, I ask you, why the hell did you even bother to post anything? Honestly? Are you really that desperate for attention that your willing to make an ass out of yourself? I won't judge you. I just hope you got the sadisfaction you were looking for. Good day sir.

08.03.2009 - 23:22 | GeekilyKane was the surname of the gentleman in Citizen Kane, and I do believe that the Command and Conquer Kane would earn the same "who names their kid Cain?" comment. Cain and Abel is WHY it's a bad name.
Because all children should be named after fratricidal figures in religious mythologies.

Once again a great review, Lewis.
but...please...DO make a review of "the awesomeness that is Deadpool", I'm begging you. ;)
They really should be embarrased to shoot laserbeams out of every bodyopening and fingers and everything.
Yellow13 raises an interesting point: A guy name Kane, sovjets with mechs...
does Cable play in some sort of Command&Conquer-Universe- mashup for some reason?
-
08.04.2009 - 12:29 | Yellow 13well Cable is close to CABAL so maybe :D all we need now is Tiberium, GDI and the Scrin
-
08.03.2009 - 20:34 | XSpaRkieXI never liked Cable much myself, but Deadpool id glory. Statistically speaking, even Liefeld had to make a couple good things. Just out of curiosity, are you going to do any of Image's other "famous" works?

RebelTaxi,
You really ought to watch the Spoony Warrior #1 review; that video easily eclipses the number of times 'ellipses' was said in this review.
Great review as always, Linkara. I particularly enjoyed the confrontation between you and "Cable", especially when the latter starts his narration. Nice work. :)

great review, although I'd have figured you'd remark on how it seems every other character in this comic is cybernetic for some reason
I have a question though, was this comic released in two versions? (early 90's collectability glut I'd imagine it was) a friend of mine says she owns a foil cover yet the one in your vid doesn't look like it's a foil cover

08.03.2009 - 21:03 | UkimoniGreat review. I've never read any of the Cable series but I've heard from one of my friends that he's the most powerful psychic in the Marvel Universe...huh.
The "clenching my hand into a fist" line kind of sounds like something Domon Kasshu from G Gundam would say.

Ah, but the question remains... which had more ellipses: Cable, or WARRIOR ?
Sorry, I had to.
Also, does Cable represent a sort of patient zero for Youngblood's disease? After all, we can only see one eye...
Feels like I'm forgetting something though... oh, yes, the usual lavish praise. If my brain was still functioning at this hour, there would definitely be some of that right around here. Until then:
Yes, that'll do.
Damn it, now I'm using ellipses all over the place.

My god, Romita Jr.? What did they do to you man?!
Luckily when characters by Leifeld are taken over by artist to artist, they usually have some normal outlook to them in the end, like Deadpool is now thinner than Leifeld made him.
Still, why did people like that style? Why didn't other people draw the same anymore? Why did we stop liking it (okay, that's kinda obvious and maybe someday we'll stop liking Michael Bay)?
These questions might just haunt me.
By the way, I'm liking the story arc you're making here.

Believe it or not, horizontal spreads aren't always a bad thing.
Early in the "Doll's House" arc in Sandman, for example, there's a part of the story where a real world character (Rose) starts dreaming. At this point, the comic is turned 90 degrees and the story continues through horizontal spreads until the dream ends. At that point, the comic is turned right-side up again.
The difference, of course, is that Neil Gaiman used the horizontal spread as a storytelling device to show that the story had shifted into a different world. Quite ingenious, really. In Cable, however, the horizontal shift is done for vanity's sake. I would say that it distracts from the story, but that would prompt the question, "What story?"
This was a solid review and I hope we see much more of the new gun.
I also lol'd so hard at you dressed up as Cable. How much aluminum foil did you have to collect to get your arm like that XD
And as for the narration...
I feel drawn back to the Warrior #1 review by you and spoony............
All the elipsees(Spelling?) brought me back to when spoony read Warrior's narration in that..................... ......................... ......................... ...................period periodperiodperiodperiod1 11111111tomato
