I took two years worth of Japanese here in the States, and lived in Japan for three months attending KCP International Language Institute, solely for language education. I speak basic to intermediate Japanese. I can hold basic conversations, but if it gets particularly intellectual, I admit, I can't hold up a conversation worth beans. At the end of the year, I'm planning on taking at least the base level, if not the next rank up, of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) to get a certificate in just how fluent I really am. At that point, I'll be able to point you to how much I actually know with some kind of a certain figure.

"I wish I a rainbow and ride a kitten." That's adorable. :meow:
OMG, the Bandai building! I would go to Japan JUST to see that. I love the Kamen Rider and SD Gundam statues.
Chocolate sparkling water... Japan really *does* have everything. =D

08.06.2010 - 23:33 | Thumper17I wonder if you could have picked up some info on the new Ranger series for Linkara?
Also, we NEED to get a truck load of Japanese shit for Brad or Lordkat to try out. I'm looking at those Ultraman/Cider drinks. Then at those wondrous ice-creams.
I've never really WANTED to go to Japan, and seeing this video. My opinion hasn't really changed :/. I wouldn't say no if I won a trip or was sent there for whatever reason. But I'm not going out of my way. Unless I can get tickets to a CHIKARA show :P. (Japanese Pro-Wrestling.)

08.07.2010 - 00:08 | SwordHero1Man, Japan is crazy awesome. The weirder ice cream seems a bit of a disappointment if they just put stuff and mix it with Vanilla. Oh well.
Yay, Kamen Rider stuff!
In any case, awesome vid Marzgurl.

Is it me, or does it start to sound a little like little chicks(actual baby chickens) when he's about to eat the chicken ice cream, and seems to stop right before he takes a bite? Heck of a coincidence.

Like I said last video, seems like you guys had a lot of fun doing this and that's always a good thing. =)
If I ever get to go to Japan, I'm definitely going to try and get to that ice cream shop or at least something similar. I really want to try that sakura ice cream now, along with the red bean paste ice cream.

08.07.2010 - 16:36 | DanacebWeeaboo'girl remembers Japan... isn't that a oxymoron?
Go somewhere original, not some kawaii pocky munchers adventure.

Even if I were weeaboo, how does that make it an oxymoron? I really went, and those were really my logs.
If I went on some kawaii pocky munchers adventure, I'd have stuck to Tokyo. Which we didn't. We started in Hokkaido, took a train across the BEAUTIFUL country, under an ocean, spent SOME time in Tokyo, proceeded on to Kyoto, and finally Osaka. We most certainly weren't there just to eat pocky and drink ramune.

08.08.2010 - 01:12 | BIRAI was wondering if you was to going to put your mouth in the water bottle, then you merely touch it... that was a bit disapointing, oh come on, that would be hot.

How much japanese do you need to know when in Japan because I'm planning to go and am worried about the whole language barrier stuff.
Biggest worry is the train system but other than that I'd love to go.

Also great video and seriously chasing pigeons they were pretty fat pigeons?
Great video none the less.

If you're in Tokyo, you really need to know next to none (though, to be fair, you'd probably WANT to educate yourself as much as possible). All rail maps and time tables have an English version printed, and there will always be ticket kiosks with an English language option. But as soon as you start stepping farther and farther away from Tokyo, the English gets less and less easy to find.

Far be it from me to ask but, are all of these truly what you recorded? For some odd reason, I'm curious as to the footage on the stairs that you shot.
-
08.09.2010 - 08:30 | MarzGurl
Wait, what do you mean by that? I could take that in one of two ways. Either -
A) You don't believe that was really me who filmed all that.
or
B) You think there should have been more.
Well, let me assure you, it was all me. I know you can't see me, but it's MY camera, and therefor I was the one filming.
There's more footage on my hard drive, but it's really boring stuff that doesn't really belong in a place like this. If people want more, hey, I can put it up, but you're going to be bored. I promise.

I take it you were attempting to wear geta sandals, and well, to no avail. Thank goodness you didn't fall. Either way, enjoyable vid.
