Hang in there...just one more movie to go.
And the whole thing Petrie says about "Me being like me" is a bit out of place in a situation in which he is in. I am with Marzgurl and probably about half of the other commenters on here too. In some children's movies there is a time and a place to pull the old "Don't follow the crowd;be yourself" dribble, but judging by the importance of Petrie's role in a important fuctioning flight that is beneficial to your species (I am assuming that pattern flight for Pteradactyls work the same way as pattern flight in say geese or ducks when flying in a group) trying to break away from the group and go at it yourself leaving the rest of those following you high and dry is not the best choice.
In truth, I think Petrie's "nonconformity" lesson was pulled out of someone's ass. Like they the writers were thinking "Oh crap its a children's movie and we forgot to put in a morale. Ah, just thrown in "be yourself" and lets go out to lunch!"

Wow, I remember going through these movies right after your first review and I couldn't stand the last one the most so I give you luck! Also, thanks for mentioning Cera's real mom, I always wondered where she went, I was hoping you'd mention it! Everything you said in this review as so true, nothing happens in the movie!

I just wanna know where this one weighs in comparison to the others. This one looks to be nearly as bad as III, or at least painfully close. Guido annoyed me from the second he started to talk. I can't've been the only person who was entirely annoyed by the voice actor's delivery. What a failure of a film. But really, upon thinking about it further, most of these movies really aren't even bad...just...nothing happens, like you said. A lot of something happen to give the illusion of something happening, but nothing really happens in the grand scheme of things. Sigh.
I just wanna know if you'll be covering the TV series or the video game...or maybe that's a spoiler? ;D

Judging solely by the reviews, I'd have to say this one would rank pretty low on the list. Not only do they have terrible CGI, they overuse it to the point where I feel like gouging out my eyes. When it comes to animated movies, there's not much that rapes the eyes more than bad CGI. Then, you know, the whole thing being stupid and all.

The very moment I heard Guido's voice I was like, "hey, it's Yakko Warner!" So I looked it up. Turns out the voice actor, Rob Paulsen, indeed did Yakko, Guido, and a bunch of other Land Before Time characters including Spike, Mo, and the Clubtail. In retrospect, this knowledge could have made for some spectacular jokes. Oh well.
Looking forward to the finale.

I am loving the fact that Guido is the voice actor for Squishington in "Bump in the Night," that totally made my day. That means that Jim Cummings and Rob Paulsen have done another project as partners (they were the two flyers in movie VIII...shame it was such a bad movie)
Other than that, this movie is pretty dull. Not as bad as III or VIII (which still really annoys me) but nothing happens so it's as boring as sitting in traffic.
Good luck with the last movie MarzGurl, I hear it's awful, I mean, that movie is the point where they decided to stop so it must be worse than III surely. Well, just one more to go; all the best!

Awesome review of a baaad movie :) Good Job Marzgurl :)
But how feakishly BAAAD must the 13th movie be if "Ave Satani" is being played after mentioning it...
(...Checks IMDB...)
Holy motherf***ing sh*tload of DOOMF**K...
This sentence from the IMDB description is already enough to hand out barf bags:
"a trio of dim-witted Beipiaosauruses"...
I foresee a lot of torture, pain, tears...

I just noticed the Imperial Bendu and Rebel Alliance Starbird on Marzgurl's sleeves. What disturbs me about this is that I've been wanting to get those tattooed on my upper arms, which makes me wonder - Marz, do you have the Twin-Headed Imperial Eagle on the BACK of that jacket, too? Because that would just scare the hell out of me.

Funny how the land outside the great valley is either lush or barren depending on whether or not everyone is going to run into a sharptooth. Are the sharptooths emitting an aura of death or what? Maybe that explains why you never see them actually manage to eat anything and yet they still survive. They're liches.

Wow, all characters were particularly brain-damaged in this movie. I mean, even more than usual for a Land Before Time sequel.
But the one thing that bothers me most is - what the hell was that Sharptooth supposed to be? A Dimetrodon? The makers do realize that they're not dinosaurs and lived like 200 million years ago BEFORE dinosaurs, right?
-
That animal is Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus. An African theropod reputed to be the biggest land carnivore to ever exist though it was primarily a fish eater. Its huge sail could have been used for display or thermo-regulation or to ward off other carnivores like the similarly massive theropod Carcharodontosaurus which like Spinosaurus was also larger than Tyrannosaurus Rex. If you ever saw Jurassic Park 3 you will recognize Spinosaurus as the titular villain of the movie, snapping the neck of the tyrannosaur which spawned a huge debate in dinosaur fandom over which of the two theropods would win in the fight. Bottom line that dinosaur is a real animal.

Oh my God, you're right, they DID throw Mo back there! Ugh, so they brought back two useless characters, but not Littlefoot's dad... That's bullshit!
Besides, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for Mo to come back to the part of the Great Valley where everybody was in that scene! The only place Mo could have come back to is the part of the Great Valley that got separated off from the bad CG earthquake in movie 9, thus he wouldn't have been able to reach the other parts of the valley! WTF, movie? Don't you have any shame?
Although to be honest... The worst reintroduction of a character that makes the least amount of sense is in the god-awful TV series where they throw CHOMPER into the GREAT VALLEY. He was supposed to be stranded on an island with his mom and dad with no way of getting off of it, not in the Great Valley! NO, Universal! NO! Chomper is absolutely impossible to bring to the Great Valley, unless you, I don't know, EXPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIII IIIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm honestly stuck about which movie is the worst of the series: the third one, or this one! I think I have to say this one's actually worse than the third because of all the horrible inconsistencies, bad pacing, illogical or impossible events, bad dialogue, and songs that make my ears bleed! Also, I wish MarzGurl had talked more about Cera's now screwed up and dysfunctional family environment. That was one of the things in the movie that really made my jaw drop about how similar it is to a dysfunctional family in real life, so much that it was actually kind of scary. And the movie didn't even fix this problem! It's like they expect kids to see emotional neglect and abuse in families as something that's totally normal, when it's NOT! God, these movies are horrible influences on kids...
Also, you thought the prejudice was bad in this movie and the last? Wait till you see her review of the 13th and final movie. It makes fun of mental retardation! Again, what wonderful lessons to teach kids. No wonder the movies didn't continue further past that one.

Shame on you for not recognizing Rob Paulsen's voice, Marzgurl =P
It's so sad to see good voice actors in shlock. This one didn't seem quite as horrific as the others. Just... boring. Good point wondering where Sarah's TWO nests of siblings went. Not to mention those twins that were hanging around before.

I feel like Ive seen this review before. I some how fooled my self in to thinking you did this one already but maybe it was some one else who reviewed it? just now I can't remember who it was who did it. also when they enviably do a NEW Lbt movie par 14,15, 16 are we going to see those too? Man I really want to do a movie ware some thing new happens like the cast grows up or travels threw time or gets killed off or some thing. I feel like every time some one discovers a new dinsure the new species becomes the new one shot character. and when will we bring back characters who were in past movies any how?

I think, and I really say think in this case, that the Petrie story was supposed to be a sort of "march to the beat of your own drum" moral. But with most kids movies it totally over exaggerates the end of a harmless moral by making it CHANGE THE WORLD. Being yourself is swell and all, but if you pull that kind of stunt in a traditional ceremony with judges? The judges aren't going to join you on the dance floor, grooving with the best of them, no way in hell.
Just one more to go, MarzGurl! You can do it!!
