Once again, I am blown away by an incredible amount of information I never even thought to look up and have a whole bunch of other works to check out.
Thanks for December of DisneyToon Studios, MarzGurl; thanks for working as hard as you do. I can't wait to see what else you'll produce in the year to come.

12.30.2010 - 23:41 | darkclaw1256What's wrong with the Tinker Bell movies? I thought they were quite good. At least, a lot better than most of DisneyToon's other sequels like Cinderella 2 or Bambi 2. They may not be as comedic or cartoonish as the other ones but at least they try to tug at your heartstrings.

I don't care for CG myself; I prefur cell & clay animation.
$5 says Tinkerbell got a complete personality makeover from the first movie. She's like the Disney answer to Barbie now. Leave it to Disney to take characters from public domain stories by dead authors & twist them into something they can make money off of.
I rembember reading something about Christopher R Milne, son of the ceator of Winnie the Pooh; he hated & resented the books, the cartoons, the characters, & Disney for making them.
-
12.31.2010 - 23:40 | darkclaw1256That's not true at all. Tinkerbell had the same personality as she did in Peter Pan. In fact, characters would frequently mention her tantrums and whenever she gets extremely jealous and her face turns red.
But that wouldn't appeal to everyone which is why she has a couple of new traits pinned to her. Like for example her curiosity and love for tinkering with things. That's more in tradition with JM Barrie's depiction of Tinkerbell, as an ACTUAL tinkerer.

12.31.2010 - 00:28 | xchimpyxKinda sad seeing these toons get thrown to the waste and not seeing them on tv. Disney completely canceling Toon Disney and Nicktoons not showing classic Nicktoons at decent hours not 1 am in the morning. Heck Nick kinda brushed off hey arnold like he didn't need a decent conclusion to him which leaves us say WHATS HIS LAST NAME? or IS HIS PARENTS ALIVE?

If anything, this studio should be trialed for crimes against humanity.
Just the title of Teacher's Cop reminds me of Kindergarden Cop for some weird reason. If anything, they should've gotten with the terminator franchise and make a Kindergarden Terminator about a robot from the future going back in time to a kindergarden class, which in the future, become great leaders against the machines.

Wikipedia is NOT a trusted resource! DisneyToon isn’t coming out with ‘The Princess & the Frog 2' or ‘Teacher’s Cop’. Heck, I could edit Wikipedia to make it say whatever I want. Look! Now ‘Pocahontas III: Ratcliffe’s Return’ is coming out! Fantastic! The only known movies that are in the works at DisneyToon are the last 2 Tinkerbell movies and a movie titled ‘Planes’, and it’s a spin-off of Pixar’s ‘Cars’. And you just wrote off Tinkerbell without ever seeing it. They're not so bad, and over the series Tinkerbell evolves into the short-tempered fairy we all know and love. Yes, she has a voice, but when she tries to speak to people, all they hear are bells, just like in Peter Pan. Watch a movie before you write it off. Cinderella 3 is actually better than the original, ask anyone who actually bothered to watch it. Do some research next time, please. I'm still a fan, and find your videos entertaining, but damn, they've had some inaccurate information lately. (Notably the fact that 'A Goofy Movie' was done mostly in France, not Australia.)

It can be trusted just as much as any other source. And I mean ANY other source.
You say that anyone can edit a page of Wikipedia. That's true, but it's not much different from, let's say, plain old books. Anyone can write a book and anyone can write in it whatever the hell he wants.
Now, you might be saying that those things are checked to see if the sources of the book itself are correct, before they release the thing. That's also true, but that's the only thing that makes it a little bit more trustworthy. Wikipedia is checked as well, it’s just done afterwards.
Btw, have you ever seen some of the lists of references that have been used to back-up claims in the article?
I’m not saying that Wikipedia is THE PERFECT information-source, cause it’s not, I know that. Sometimes there are things that are just completely wrong. But even those are most of the time little things, like wrongly spelled names or descriptions that could use a little more expansion.
I’m just saying that Wikipedia is (almost) just as trustworthy as any other source, since most of those sources are the foundation of Wikipedia articles.

Actually, whenever I have to hand in a report or do a speech for class, more often than not I'm told that I cannot cite Wikipedia as a reference because it *is* so flawed. Like Dark Detective said, anyone can go in and write whatever they want.
Though I have to disagree on his/her opinions on Cinderella 3, it was not better than the original. When Lady Tremaine said Bippity Boppity Boo, my childhood screamed. She's an upperclass woman, an aristocrat, and I don't think she'd ever believe in magic, much less readily accept and use it.

01.02.2011 - 07:31 | JunkWatcherMy teachers say so as well, but I use it anyway and make sure I use my own interpretation of it (I never copy-paste it, I write it as I would write it, so no one notices it) and I've never had any complains that something was wrong.

You really do have to cite references when editing a wikipedia page. If it doesn't have reliable references, the page will state that. Also, if you go into the discussions you will see people discussing the validity of the article. You would probably do well to look up the sites/books/articles referenced by the page author as well.
When I was younger they told us the internet wasn't a good source. Had to use actual books and stuff. How opposite is that of today?
Wikiepdia isn't bad. It's just new-ish.
On topic, I loved these cartoons as a kid. Someone really needs to do "The Adventures of the Gummi Bears." I loved that show.

I wouldn't say that Cinderella 3 is better than the original, (Or maybe it's 'cause I saw the original through the eyes of a little girl? Though even with my feminist tendencies today, I still love it) but yeah, Cinderella 3 is vastly under-rated just because "ooooh it alters things from teh original!" (Not that Marzgurl said anything like that, just my thoughts on how other people act)
Bambi 2 is still better than any of those late 90's/early 2000 sequels, (imho) but since she didn't bother to talk about it in part 4, she probably assumed it wasn't worth mentioning because she may not have seen it. (If she did, her mind would have been blown- but that's just me guessing/assuming things, I really don't know what the reason was or her opinions on it)
I hope Marzgurl is okay though. Lately she has been inaccurate so it makes me a little worried :( Maybe she's dealing with stress irl? I hope she's okay...(not that making mistakes is bad or anything!)

A couple of incompleted projects that they never did was the "original" Disney Princess Enchanted Tales which featured a completely different Sleeping Beauty cartoon from the one shown in the completed release, and an original Beauty And The Beast feature. Plus sequals to Dumbo, Aristocats, and Chicken Little. I kinda wonder about some of the sequals/prequals/midquals that were actually made despite the fact that there was no real call for them, like Fox & The Hound 2 or Lady & The Tramp 2.

I was actually relieved when I heard that there would be no more direct to video sequels, because most of them were just so God-awful. The Cinderella sequels, and The Jungle Book 2 were just bad, I'm a firm believer that if Walt Disney had a hand in the original film, it needs to be left alone. And even with movies he didn't work on, there were bad sequels. I actually thought TLK 2 was decent, even though I too didn't really like the fact we were expected to just go with the idea that Zira, Kovu, (not to mention the rest of the pride of banished lions) were there all along. But The Little Mermaid 2, Mulan 2... The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 was just atrocious, that one had no saving grace at all.

That makes me want to know what got canseled and what is in the planning stages...to the Wiki!
also it makes me mad at animation companies who think that adult content makes up for lack of effort in animation quality. a lot of new cartoons do dumb things like not including backgrounds or making characters intentionally bad to be funny while other better cartoons make 1 or 2 seasons and die either due to lack of ratings or due to short attention spans from the assumed child audience who needs some thing new every two years and screw the aging now teen audience who still wants to be entertained. I got to give my love to DC for getting every thing right in animation so constantly.

oh gosh don't get me started on the pre/se/mid-quals of disney movies.
I will admit the third story in "Cinderella 2" was enjoyable (everyone needs love, even ugly stepsisters). But damn a lot of them were far from good; I never finished seeing the prequel movie to The Little Mermaid, but it actually gave an explanation to why Ariel's mother was not in the picture *spoiler for those who care*(she was brutally killed!) So not all of the pre/se/mid-quals were bad. Actually to be honest anything "Lilo and Stitch" related came out pretty good in my opinion.
The Tinkerbell films are shockingly good, sure it's a new wave of making money since the Disney princesses do nothing but pose and look pretty like some model. I was actually heavily shocked that they put so much effort into the art.
Also to comment on wikipedia, it can be used as a source, if you use it right. Depending on the link for a source at the bottom of whatever page the source may be reliable. However I've only trusted websites that end in .gov or .edu for school assignments.

02.28.2011 - 14:31 | TentaclesI have to say though, I never liked Disney myself. I especially hate what Disney has become now. Then again that's mostly cause of the black and white story lines i frequently see.

Eh,they're not bad, really. I remember watching the beginning and a bit of the middle of the first Tinkerbell movie. The fact that Tinkerbell talks isn't a huge deal to me because I actually kind of like the voice they got for her. I think, for a short while,my friend and I acutally got really into the movies and the website they had (you could make your fairy and stuff. It was cute) but that died in us after a while. Yeah, the movies weren't that bad but, like Marzgurl,I don't really want to know much about them now.

02.01.2012 - 06:18 | the gangsta of loveTinker bell is a communist now.
I'm not kidding. She lives in a land where the government provides all living priorities for you including a home and all necessities, and in return all the fairies are given a job to do where there is no possibility of promotion, raise, or advancement.
..........Yeah.
