Oh God! I went to comic-con, and when I heard about this, I died a little inside. It's as if Stan Lee didn't learn his lesson from Nightcat #1!
Sigh! But, then again, who's to say? For all we know, this could be a really creative and innovative collaboration!
X Japan is a really popular band, and is even touring in the US right now. Besides, it doesn't HAVE to be some rock based comic about a guitar playing superhero, and even if it is, it could still turn out okay.
Besides, it's Marvel. It's not like they've ever made any major, horrible decisions regarding their comic books that have ever made me want to tear every hair from my head and shoot Joe Quesada in the face...
......................... ......................
... I think I've said too much.
By the way, come check out my videos and pictures from New York Comic-Con / New York Anime Festival 2010!
We've got video from the convention floor, clips from the Venture Bros. Panel, an interview with Disorganization XIII, the creators of Spoiler: The Panel, one of the greatest panels to ever grace the New York Anime Festival, and of course, lots and lots of cosplay.
If you went to the Con, try to see if you can find yourself in the crowd! I loved my time at the convention, and I hope you all enjoy these videos.

10.13.2010 - 22:01 | HichcootWow are you talking about the same video???
Anyway, Stan Lee created the manga or anime... I'm not that sure about this title... Heroman, and worked with the creator of Shaman King... so you can kind of see how this could have happened.
It would be any good? I love Stan Lee but I can't stand X Japan... so who knows...

Yeahhhh. Here's a little 411: this is not the first time Stan Lee has done something like this. Currently, he's working with Hiroyuki Takei, the Manga-Ka behind "Shaman King" on the manga "Karakuridoji Ultimo" which is currently being serialized in american Shonen Jump, and a couple of volumes have already been released in North America, and there is also Heroman, a manga and anime created by Stan Lee in coordination with Studio BONES

Well I think Stan Lee's last international collaboration, Ultimo, was really good, but I'm not entirely sure how well this will mull over. I agree with Michaelarroyo in the sense that it doesn't necessarily need to be a rock comic, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility. And let's be honest, exactly how are you going to portray the essence of the music through paper and ink? Sheet music in the air? I like Stan Lee's international connections, but if it does turn out to be a music based manga, I may not even bother reading it.

I don't think I can tollerate seeing Jrockers look muscley & unfemanine & rather caucasian. Maybe if they got an artist like...

It really doesn't help that Yoshiki looks like a male Sarah Jessica Parker....
