That’s really cool. It’s great that more and more anime companies are looking towards the internet as a way to present their product in a way that not only allows fans to get there fix of quality anime, but also allows the localization company to make some profit from it. With the economy the way it was and still is, anime companies were in a slump for quite a while, and now, as things begin to improve, we’ve seen new and exciting changes to the industry as companies utilize the internet in order to gain new fans and grow their fan base, and I think that’s great! I hope more companies catch on to this growing trend.

SUPPORT THE INDUSTRY!!!
STREAM YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS, WATCH THEM ON TV, AND BUY THE DVDS!!!

Also, and I apologize in advance for this shameless plug, please check out the latest episode of Anime for Dummies, where we look at good anime, bad anime, little-known anime, and anime so popular; you just want to see it die!

This week, I checked out Hetalia: Axis Powers. One thing I noticed, this series is a lot more true to real life than I think any of us would like to admit!

Check it out, and again, sorry for this shameless plug.

I've heard of this show of which you speak. But if episodes are 5 minutes long, how is it scheduled? Is it 3 shorts in a half hour? Shown after a shorter show? Are there like 700 episodes or 12?

Do they tease the "Italy's childhood boyfriend from when he was a little girl" subplot? Even in a world where 95% of countries are blonde, that one's a pretty easy mystery to solve. Or is it?

Nice to hear that they're finally on the bandwagon to do some streaming. It's thanks to theses streams that alot of the companies are doing that's helping many to make up their minds on what series to go for since alot of channels aren't doing as much for showing different shows now.

• Gold2094
YEAH NOZOMI!!! Thubs Up if you like Nozomi streaming :cheer:

Can't say I'd heard of Nozomi before today.

Man, I haven't seen ICT in a dog's age. I remember that it was funny.

Good old Original Dirty Pair. B) B)

I'm in the same boat LikaLaruku. Despite that, it's still good to see more and more companies deciding to stream online. If we're lucky, the trend will continue and keep going strong.

You seem rather fond of Tylor Marzgurl. I'll have to give the series a lookover. Thanks for the news. :)

lol wow you're terrible Micheal-kun XD

So does this mean that Streaming naime is becoming the main form of accessing anime in North America as a whole? Also where do we Canadians fit in the picture? If streaming anime shifts to only in America, then comapanies face ostricising plenty of other fans.

Also, since plugs are happening anyway :P Check out the Ota-kun Review while you're over at Nozomi's Youtube page. Stop in and say hi, I don't bite. ^^

Now we can watch such anime classics such as... Comic Party... and.. Weather Report Girl!

Awesome. Great to hear that a new generation will get to see Tylor.

El Hazard (and The Wanderers) is underrated too in my opinion, but maybe that's because it came out in the shadow of Tenchi Muyo (and Dual Parallel World in it's shadow etc.).
• GTO Neko
avatar
Can't argue about that. Being one of Pioneer's flagship shows, I'm surprised that it didn't get as much notice that Tenchi did, considering it's from the same studio and all for the anime.

Not to mention, the music was actually good on it as well, at least for me.
• Starry4ever
I haven't heard of Nozomi, but it's great to hear that more companies will stream their anime legally to us :side:
• EvilAshTwin
Wouldnt it be funny if all of a sudden, all the videos were gone because Youtube assumed the anime was being uploaded illegaly.

I don't think You Tube will do shit unless a company complains, and only some companies complain, Interscope likes taking down music, and some other guy, a director or something, he (or she?) like taking down videos relating to her projects too, but I don't quite remember the name of the director, shame about that, I kinda wanted to check their stuff out.

I have not heard before about Nozomi. Wait did I see right? Does this Nozomi have also Maria-sama ga Miteru? That would not be bad thing. After all Maria-sama ga Miteru is actually very good anime.

Dirty Pair? The ORIGINAL Dirty Pair? Because I seem to remember an Adam Warren OEL of Dirty Pair a few years back...

Anyways, Nice that Nozomi is putting out this crazy Space show. Definitely worth a looksee.

While streaming might be the only answer to illegal downloading, I can't see them making as much money off of this as they would have in the 90s through selling VHS prior to illegal downloading. There's no good solution to the matter.

This is awesome news. Even when Funimation and the like show...shows I notmally can't see them since I live in the UK.

Plus I've been meaning to watch Irresponsible Captain Tylor for a while now (I've only ever seen the first few episodes). ^_^

I'll be sure to check out the Ypu tube page. Sounds interesting.

In other news, WOAH - a bit of an abrupt ending to that video, wouldn't you say Marzgurl? ;)

Finally! El Hazard is getting a re-release!

This is great news for those of us who grew up with anime in the 90s!

A suggestion: Cut the audio levels to the theme music right about the point where the beat kicks in. The sheer loudness of it really contrasts sharply with your voice audio levels.

Honestly, I think this a great idea. In order for these animation studios to survive, for the industry to survive, streaming anime is a excellent idea. They are simply adapting to the times. If the companies stream anime on their sites, they can just play ads and make money that way.

Anime industry needs to adapt indeed, streaming just may be the wave of not the future but today, I look forward to all of my anime's having legal, and profitable access
• redbeast  - rurouni kenshin live action!
Mars Girl, have you heard about the live action Rurouni Kenshin movie in Japan? Rurouni Kenshin was an AMAZING anime and it might be interesting to see it in live action. I was wondering if you could do an update on it in the future? PLEASE!? :!:

El Hazard, w00t! A friend many years ago showed that to me when I was first getting into anime, and I liked it quite a bit. It's nice to know I may be able to own it on DVD soon...seeing as my collection is rather lacking atm(I only have The Slayers series currently..'used to own a DVD or two of Excel Saga some time ago but those were ruined and/or lost since[..need to get BACK]). I need to start getting more DVD sets, don't wanna resort to anything that would hurt sales...

Looks like more and more companies are deciding to use this streaming feature. Good news to hear indeed.

It's not a bad plan. Not only can we see our favorite shows right away, legally, for free, but a lot of people that end up watching these shows and end up liking them will probably buy the DVDs.
