02.01.2012 - 09:33 | GweskoyenI dislike flashbacks in all media, be it comics, TV or else. If a work features them heavily, like Vengeance, I am instantly turned off.

Pretty art wasted on a senseless plot. I mean, I like that Magneto actually choked out the Nullifier and that he didn't job for him... but he's in this comic SOLELY for what looks like a moral lecture to a prostitute which I... can't really see him doing? I mean I can buy Magneto caring for his fellow mutants, but... would he really care if one of them decided to be a prostitute? Does he hold EVERY mutant to some super-high moral standard, not just the ones whom it would benefit him to train and polish?
Oh, and then there's the whole thing about the comic jumping around to a million different places and never dedicating itself to develop one of the threads. But CR already handled that so I thought I could get some meaningless detail-nagging in instead.

This book jumped all over the place so much I struggled to even pay attention to this review of it. Admittedly I was distracted and bored until the end. Not really your fault considering the material though. It must have been a horrible read.
And I can't believe they put out a book based on needing to use the covers. That's pathetic. Couldn't they have kept them back for when they had a reason for them?
(Also, the Grant Morrison joke gave me a laugh :p )

02.03.2012 - 20:16 | SijoThanks for the review, LAG. I'm way behind in my Marvel reading these days (but at least I haven't given up on them yet like I have with DC) so blogs like yours are a big help. Plus they're fun to watch. :)
What amazes me the most is that Marvel *actually admitted* in the comic itself the truth of its origins. Did they realize it was so crappy they needed to apologize!? And DAMN, but this is one of the flimsiest excuses for a series I've ever seen. They cancel stuff like Incredible Hercules but print THIS? And Casey too seemed to be daring people to notice that he was just servicing his own characters. Add to that a dark and pointless plot (no, Evil is not necessary, I'll never accept that IN A SUPER HERO COMIC BOOK) and... yeah. I'm glad I didn't check it out.
Plus: Miss America = Latino Bitch Wonder Woman?? Oh God.
Looking up to your next review. :)

You have a problem with the idea that Evil is an essential part of the world? It's a pretty common idea in philosophy and in a lot of dramas (Good cannot exist without Evil, nor Happiness without Sorrow); you don't have to agree with it, but the inclusion of that concept in this story is certainly not a mark against it.
