I'm sorry Mr. Murdock. I'm sure you're a good lawyer but I've decided I'll hire this young upstart by the name of Phoenix Wright. I hear his methods are quite unorthodox but there's a good chance he'll clear my name without fail.
That aside, I don't know why but when I saw Captain America's shield it really made me remember that I have forgotten about Dare Devil a lot. I'm with you though, the art in this comic was just great and I could see myself picking it up just for that, even if the story is mediocre.

I was never much of a Daredevil reader.. the only time I've read the character is when he appears in other character's comics or arcs! But, this does sound like an interesting story! And the artwork showcased here looks beautiful!
I think Marvel is planning a Daredevil reboot or sequel soon but I could be wrong!?

Don't know if black window has ever died. And there's typhoid mary.
I think Karen's death was lame though. It was in a average storyline, came out of nowhere, unnecessary, did nothing, and unlike spider-man, daredevil's mag has always been good at breaking those two up easily.

I guess I have to concede that if it's not your thing, it's not your thing.
It's mine, though. I've had an art-crush on Paolo Rivera ever since he taught a painting seminar at SCAD, and Mark Waid is...well, he's just aces. He knows how to tell a compelling story that pulls in elements of a character's past without overwhelming new readers with trivia.
One thing I kinda can't help but point out was that Waid was also moving away from the "all side characters are straight and white by default unless there is a compelling story-reason for them not to be" default, but not in a blatant "I AM DOING THIS FOR REASONS!" way. Just as a reflection of what everyday life is like.
I'm sorry it's not your Daredevil. I know the feeling of having expectations for a title--I'm currently crushed that the new Justice League International isn't a wacky fun book. Daredevil is one of the books I'm using to balm that particular hurt, but I didn't have much prior knowledge or interest in him. It's just that there are so many dark, serious books out there right now that finding Daredevil was like a drink of cool, clean water.

Mark waid is awful. They also had him being lighter before and it didn't last. It was fine but daredevil doesn't have to have break downs but he is a more somber hero with serious storylines. So to recap, Daredevil has had wonderful stories before without having a complete break down for years. Still I very much don't trust Mark Waid to tell good stories at all. Especially the type that Daredevil does well. Daredevil isn't one of those characters that can do any kind of story. He's an older fashion character like The Shadow.
He's not even using the type of villain that really suits daredevil it seems. Maybe one would have been that bad but both The Spot and Klaw back to back. I have no problem with daredevil fighting costumed villains outside Bullseye. I like the gladiator and the jester(especially), and Stilt-man was actually a formidable villain. he was like a war of the world tripod with his legs plus he had a laser rifle yet he was grounded and not a super genius himself. Too bad these guys are reformed or dead.
