Warner Brothers was thinking about shutting the comics line down and not publishing anymore monthly comics. They were just gonna continue to make movies and sell merchandise based off these characters. DC had no choice but to do this. The sales were absymal. DCnU may have just bought the monthly comics line a few more years.

08.31.2011 - 01:59 | OtakuKittenFirst point: That crawl space thing you have is really creepy, but the bit was really funny.
Second point: WHY DC WHY!!!! seriously I just got back into comic books about 6-8 months ago, whenever Batman: Black Mirror was, and I was so pissed that they were pulling this when I finally fell back in love with my childhood characters. Had it not been of my husband dragging me back to the comic book store every week I wouldn't even bother.
Third point: I'm really glad you are doing this because I'm only going to put money down of the characters I care about. ..... stupid Jason Todd. WE KILLED YOU OFF FOR A REASON!

I'm really looking forward to this. As someone who's never gotten into comic books much just due to not wanting to jump into the middle of a long-running story, coupled with the new digital distribution options, it looks like it may be a good time to start reading.
Now if they would just stop doing the whole monthly tiny issue and do everything as trades. ;)

Surprisingly informative is right. I know a lot of the internet has disdain for Linkara because of his storylines and insistence on only reviewing comics that are bad. CBI doesn't get any of that hate because the show is simple and straight forward.
The only question is will the first new 52 review contain a "revised origin" for the Last Angry Geek? And how reminiscent of the 90s will it be?

09.08.2011 - 08:21 | unknownwarrior33You probably know this by now, but the new Action Comics actually takes place years before the current time, along with the new Justice League; we have to wait for the new Superman to see what's really going on.
What really annoyed me is that the comic didn't note that at all; I had to look online, because it seemed weird that Superman was just starting while Animal Man had been around for a while, according to this week's books.
All that said, once I understood what was going on, I liked the new Action Comics. It shows a much more headstrong and violent Superman, which I would imagine he'd be like when he first started. It's hard to be subtle with newly-discovered power.

09.10.2011 - 11:07 | GuardianSoulBladeI'm really looking forward to Red Hood and the Outlaws. I'm also looking forward to if you review it, even if your review is negative about it, negative reviews always bring up good points too.
But I'm going to guess that you'll wind up with one of the Batman-related titles, simply because of probability. There's so many of them!
