07.20.2011 - 06:40 | timotakaLiving Laser gets taken out by a boomerang to the head? Didn't that guy used to go toe to toe with Iron Man? Talk about power decay. And on that topic, I sincerely hope Marvel stops playing ping pong with Juggernaut's power level and allegiance.

I really like the Thunderbolts and have been a fan since the first issue, with the exception of the crappy superhuman fight club issues. This version of the Thunderbolts is interesting and has some good stories, but it is also the weakest of any version of the Thunderbolts, aside from the aforementioned fight club stuff. The one thing I don't care for is how Moonstone's character has changed drastically from her roots in the early books. She was a very intelligent and manipulative character, but somehow in the current line she has become a whiny and annoying b*$%&. Though the Fear Itself story has fixed something that was lacking in the current run by making the Juggernaut awesome again.

I can't say I was ever an ardent follower of Thunderbolts- that being said I wonder if THIS was the best choice of issue to review. I don't know, maybe this is a recent release and thus topical, but I've always gotten the impression that LAG is for reviews of trades or issues that for one reason or another stand out as big or important. This... not so much.
I know, it's a nitpicky argument- I'm just wondering why choose THIS issue, a comparatively weak issue that to my knowledge had NO hype surrounding it, of all the Thunderbolts issues.

07.20.2011 - 09:44 | CafeterialocaDid you just do an entire Thunderbolts review and history, mention EVERY character...but left out Songbird completely?! Even the fact that she's LEADING the team now?!
For shame Last Angry Geek! For SHAME! You dishonor Thunderbolts fans everywhere!

07.20.2011 - 10:57 | ZoltonI'm not big on the Thunderbolts, but Warren Ellis' run was pretty cool.
I also like your rating scale. Seems that 2.5/5 is actually average, so it got me wondering what are some current 5 star books in your opinion? Do a top 10 of 2011 list or something.
Keep it up, Geek.

Since #144, Thunderbolts is yelling "SUICIDE SQUAD" in my head. AND I LOVE IT.
The original Suicide Squad is one of the very few DC titles I loved. I'm more of a Marvel Fan. And now one of the most awesome concepts (in my opinion) reached the Marvel Universe. So this series is an absolutely no-brainer for me.
LAG - keep up the good work.

07.20.2011 - 20:56 | El SijoI loved the original concept of Thunderbolts (villains being tempted to do GOOD) by Busiek, natch. ;) But stopped reading after they came up with the Fight Club rip off.
While I'm not too happy with the current version, it's still worth reading, certainly more than most current DC comics. (Though that *may* change with the coming reboot. We'll see.)
Btw Marvel's 50th Anniversary is coming up; wonder how they will try to counter DC's big relaunch PR push?

07.20.2011 - 23:11 | fauxnamnFun Review. I honestly feel that LAG is one of the more underrated reviewers on this site. Linkara gets a lot of attention because he's been on the site longer and he has overarching story-lines, but the LAG's work is nothing to sneeze at. The reviews are in-depth, interesting and fun. Perhaps if he incorporated some story elements he'd get more views.
If you're reading this LAG, I think you should also try to do some more comic book animated direct to video DVD reviews. Planet Hulk was a great review and I would like to see you review others like "All-Star Superman" or "Batman: Under the Red Hood."

07.21.2011 - 11:52 | CafeterialocaBut seriously, LAG, you picked this issue to review? Over stuff like the Scourched Earth Tie-in?!
COME ON! You're supposed to show why people should buy Thunderbolts, not pick the ONE BAD ISSUE!!!
