I liked Halcyon for the most part but the lack of any real resolution really annoyed me. The series doesn't so much end as it does stop at a turning point, it would be like if Lost ended once they discovered the hatch.
It was in interesting idea and it was well executed but the last issue, while being a solid comic, wasn't a finale. Really what this series needed was to be a ten or twelve part series, that would give us more time to get to know the characters, more time to introduce the ones who come out of nowhere (Cammo), explain some things better and let us have a proper ending.
Each issue is worth 3-4 stars but as a 'complete' story it deserves 2.

Damn, the rating at the end was cold. I have all the same complains that you have, but found it way more entertaining. And, boy, the art, I loved the art. It came off as a cross between Steve Dillion and Doug Mahnke, sorta.
Oh boy, I freakin' LOVED the art, although, again, I have the same complaint as you do, as in the bodyvariaty was pretty short.
And I really hope that his series gets a sequel. After all, the tradepaperback gets released with a "1" behind the title, so there is hope...

I believe some have complained about this before: in my opinion your star rating doesn't match what you have said about the comic (or TV show, etc.).
In my view, giving one star means a book doesn't have any redeeming qualities, but you said that the art was fine, the idea was decent, and it had potential for a sequel. So, in the end it seems 1 star is too harsh.
My humble suggestion would be to give each aspect of the comic a separate rating (off-screen), and then average or simply consider these scores for the final rating so that it doesn't look so out of left field.
Anyways, funny and entertaining, as always!

I suspect you've been bombarded with stuff about the DC reboot.
As a lapsed comic reader I want to get back into comic and the reboot DC is doing is a good way of me to get in again.
My question if you have time to answer it is this: Which comics do you recommend for the reboot I'm really excited about batman, green lantern and willing to give superman or JLA a try however in some cases theres up to a half dozen books for what appears to be just one character (Batman seems to be the worst offender for this); which would you recommend a new reader like me to get into.
Not sure if you view this as video material.
Thanks for your time.
