You go for a brief holiday in Japan and suddenly... tentacles.
This seems like an interesting concept that could just go on running with an episodic feel. The wise old man, younger person also seems a little like Dark Knight Returns where someone takes up the mantle of robin after Batman has given up.
nice review. I'll be waiting for the next.

I like the idea of this series in theory: Batman wants to help heroes that are just like him across the world. Ok sure, I can run with that especially when you realize that there are probably a lot of heroes that were inspired by Batman to be just like him in some way. My problem is when you get down to the fact that there is the Justice League, the Justice Society, and the Titans. Why aren't these heroes part of these teams? Ok so I can stretch the fact that it's possible these heroes weren't exactly "invited" because of they may not have been on the radar. If so then why not do it this way:
Batman and select crew of hand picked recruiters, go around the world and find these "batman" like heroes and just recruit them into the League/Society/Titans? Wouldn't it be interesting to see stuff like Arsenal trying to overcome the loss of his daughter by finding a heroine that reminds him of her in some way? Booster Gold meets an actor that wants to become famous through crime fighting? Stories like that? *shrugs* thats just me though.

I like these reviews. The overviews are informative, especially for those of us that can't read the actual books.

I really enjoy your reviews! They're perfect to relax with for a few minutes if I'm taking a break from work or just surfing the net.
I was wondering if you read Batgirl, could you do a review of the issues you like? For me it's the only Bat-book to read: all the flavor of Batman with a wonderful main lead and a lot of twists and turns to keep everyone happy.
I'm just worried folks are overlooking it because it's Stephaine and that's the reason they should pick it up in the first place! It's great seeing a Bat-character enjoy being part of the family without as much opressive grimness that normally surrounds Batman and company.
Thanks for a lot of fun reviews (esp over at You Know Who) and thanks for reading my request!

Issues 3 to 5 more more interesting in my opinion, plus they introduced Doctor dedalus as an nemesis for the serie and explained a few plotholes such as why lordDeathman acted like he did (in fact no it didn't explain anything but it gave clues)
I think the two first issues should be seen as an introduction more than as a complete story

Lord Death Man was a character who already existed. Morrison doesn't throw darts to find characters, he raids the DC Comics Encyclopaedia for the most obscure characters he can find!
Loved the show, btw

05.25.2011 - 08:46 | fiercefoxI have not enjoyed Batman nearly as much as I do with Grant Morrison at the helm. He's taken the character in new and exciting places that make me salivate for the next issue of his amazing epic.
One of the things that I enjoy the most about his work on Batman is that there's absolutely no hand holding. He doesn't explain everything that's going on, and leaves it to the reader to discover the little details and intricacies of the story, which is rich with them.
He's one of the best writers DC has, and has truly written one of the greatest Batman stories of all time.

05.25.2011 - 09:00 | WinterstarCome on Geek I liked the review but that whole Backwards time bullet... That was what happened to Captain America
In Final Crisis Batman was blasted by the Omega Sanction and sent back in time.

The first joke was a valid try but I skipped it either way. And Lord Death man is not created by Grant Marrison, He was created for the 1960's Batmanga and he was based on the pre-golden age superhero Ogon Bat.
4:00 Ooooo (full power)SSJ Goku with a big ass sword in the box on the right! Dragon Ball / Dragon Quest crossover? :D

05.25.2011 - 09:51 | Destructive DarknessWhy did you keep calling that character "Hiro" when his name's clearly "Jiro"? He's Japanese, not Spanish, so I'm pretty sure the "J" is not pronounced as an "H".
