So essentially OMIT was Joe Quesada trying to justify OMD by showing how Peter and MJ are going on with their lives by showing flashbacks of other issues showing Mephesto turning into a bird and making scenarios that make being Spider-Man ruin Peter's chances at marrying MJ and creating a array of plot explaining Macguffins. Not only that turn MJ into a whiny idiot that blames Spider-Man for her acting like a classic case of stockholm syndrome. WHAT A PILLE OF GRADE A ASS BURGERS WITH A SIDE ORDER OF SHIT FRIES!!! (That was me trying to condense the fail of OMIT, please tell me if there is anything wrong with my explanation.)

01.05.2011 - 00:52 | AlkoTankoSupplementary comic that makes the comic it supplements even worse than it was already?
I'm impressed.

When will Mr. Quesada learn that "One More Day" should have never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER happend?

"One of us is successful, the other is you."
Oh god I'm going to have to use that now.
but in all actuality, I'm surprised no one fired Quesada for these. He's CONSISTENTLY screwed over characters and continuity, and done nothing but piss everyone off.
Then again, Frank Miller is still writing and Rob Liefeld is still an artist. So the industry apparently likes keeping failures on long past their expiration date.

Huh. SOOOOOO glad I didn't bother to buy this story...
Funny thing is, I like where the Spider-Man books are right now. I don't like how they got there, but Dan Slott and co. have been doing a pretty damn good job on the Spider-books (especially now that The Gauntlet is finally over and Big Time is kicking into gear)! So I'm willing to put up with all the continuity crap and all the half-hearted excuses for Peter and M.J. to be broken up, because a.) the stories are good, and b.) it's probably inevitable that some writer in the future is going to get those two back together some day, and maybe even tie up the loose ends with Mephisto left by OMD- especially now that Quesada is no longer editor-in-chief at Marvel anymore.
Until that day arrives, though, I'm going to try to enjoy Slott's work on the book. It may be a continuity nightmare, but at least it's good reading!

No, I have to say JMS' current retcon of Wonder Woman is worse. MUCH MUCH WORSE. I know I'll get thumbed down for this, but I have to say it:
As godawful as OMD and OMIT are, at the very least they established that the other issues/stories of Spider-Man of the past 20 years are still in canon. Which is what JMS wanted to eliminate had he gotten his way with OMD before Quesada overrode him.
Meanwhile (and I'm hoping the eventual results of Generation Lost will correct this), JMS has now rendered EVERY SINGLE WONDER WOMAN ISSUE SINCE 1986 COMPLETELY WORTHLESS by stating that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE STORIES NEVER HAPPENED. We're just supposed to forget everything everyone from George Perez to Gail Simone ever wrote and accept Straczynski's creation as the only true Wonder Woman????!!!!
Joe Quesada, you are a hack!!!!
J MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI!!! YOU! ARE! AN! UBER-HACK!!!!!!!!!!

Not only is OMiT worse, but the ending of it is exactly as they described; a literal punch in the face. Like I've mentioned on the forums before, if you analyze the last panels of OMiT, MJ is Quesada and he's rubbing your face in what he's done in a level of fanboy hack writer gloating I've never seen before.

It's good to see you two doing a video together. I knew it was going to happen from the moment there were two comic book guys on the site and it turned out very good.
Well, there's not much that can be said about this comic that hasn't been said. It's a terrible thing meant to help make One More Day seem better. Just by that token alone, it's horrible. It's really too bad that good art like that is wasted on something that doesn't even come close to warrenting it.
Nicely done guys. Keep up the good work.

Thankyou guys for suffering through this review for us. I hate this thing to a point a can't describe. More specificly, the 4th issue, cause that was the only thing i dared to buy and fully read. But this review makes me feel so much better about the $4.24 i wasted on this thing! I commend you guys!

What I don`T get is, how people are unable to get the most obvius joke of "One Moment in time" (OMIT)that is similiar in term like Gay for Justice.
Seriously guys, what comes up if you put the letter V in front of OMIT?
Yes people. The best description of what Spiderman Fans are doing after reading this crap!
Great review you two. Also if I have to say it is mostly our last angry Geek doing the work here.

01.05.2011 - 10:17 | KariYou don't even need to do that. Omit is a word. It means to leave something out, so by the title, they TOLD US to just skip it. >:D

Look I am going to come out and say that while I did not like OMD or OMIT in any way shape or form. I really think calling Quesada a hack is wrong. That is a strong word to use against any creator/artiest/writer/ entertainer/etc.
He is just not a good writer or story teller. Hell this was what his second or third time writing? I can understand the feelings of having some of your favorite characters messed with and trust me that is something to be upset about. But, the name calling I think it a bit out of line.

OMD and O.M.I.T. are wretched, deplorable, and two of the worst comics I've ever read, and I've been reading comics for 20+ years, and have PLENTY of pre-90's back issues. And yes, the beginning of Brand New Day (BND) was that special brand of generic bad (the "Uh, this tanks" brand).
BUT things have gotten better. The Second half of BND. New Ways to Die. Kraven's First Hunt. The Gauntlet. Kraven's Last Hunt. Character Assassination (haha, irony). Issue 600. Big TIme. All of these arcs have been great. Spidey really is back, and he just as great as when JMS helmed him earlier this past decade.
So please: don't leave now. Don't let the wound of OMD and OMIT turn you away. Just bury them away in the deepest recesses of your memories, and let them die. I still love Spider-Man, and I hope you'll stick by him as I have.

01.05.2011 - 05:40 | DryVery good review you two - do you plan to do more stuff together?
I always was a big Spider-man fan, but the last year(s) were really bad. They turned Peter into a whiny, brooding emo.. I really miss the old, fun day. And its getting worse and worse.. starting from that Conners-ate-his-kid story to this terrible Kraven family thing.
-
01.05.2011 - 14:29 | ZoltonThose stories were great, I thought. Lizard eating his own child while Conners is aware the whole time is fucking crazy.
That's the thing with comics, one month it's a cool Kraven story the next it's OMIT. Beware of the names on the cover.
Joe Kelly = good
Joe Quesada = bad

omit just really pissed me off, i hated BND but wanted to give this a chance. but as you said it was nothing but a kick in the balls any of the fans who preferred MJ and peter together.
i could have let it go but the constant slaps in the face in the new series(as you shown in the show) just make you think wtf
we did get some good stuff though with harry being back but they still have yet to pull the trigger on a goblin war between harry and norman
though it could have been worse old hack joey Q didn't get everything he wanted, the boring gwen is still dead and i can be thankful, for that. though we did end up with gwen stacy MKII in carlie cooper :(
