Awesome. Plus it looks far better than the more famous Bond knock-off "Never Say Never Again".

"You Only Live Twice" is my all-time favorite James Bond movie and I like how you pointed out the similarities in their poses on the posters (let's be honest the early Bond movies had some of the best movie posters in film history).

I'm definitely giving this a watch. Shalom.

OK Connery is a lot of fun, and really does closely resemble the Bond series. If you want to find it in the MST3K ouvre, make sure to look under the Operation Double 007 name.

Here's a link to the Youtube video if you want to take a look.

I'd encourage anyone interested to buy the official MST3K DVD rather than watching a pirated version:

Yeah, but who wants to watch a good movie for the first time with people riffing it?

I'd say buy the MST3K version and then watch the "pirated" version.

(In my mind, YouTube doesn't really count as pirating--if it's there, it's because the copyright owners don't care enough to stop it. Especially if it's owned by a big studio, as they'd be automatically informed of its upload.)

    Oh Ed,you suave bastid!

Yeah,in the 60s the Italians always tried to make their ripoffs as legit as possible. But this one was probably the most legit looking of them all with its numerous appearances from other Bond actors. There were other Italian ripoffs that were...less fortunate such as Si Muore Solo Una Volta (You Only Die Once) and Se Tutte le Donne del Mondo (titled Kiss The Girls and Make Them Die in the US). That last one actually right down stole the story of Ian Fleming's Moonraker over a decade before the Roger Moore movie came out.

I wasn't aware of the Moonraker connection! I'll track that one down for sure!

Yeah, except that instead of Hugo Drax the villain is a Brazilian tycoon called Mr. Ardonian. The movie is honestly more fun to watch than In Like Flint or the Matt Helm flicks.

I've seen this quite a few times, thanks to MST3K, it's a pretty terrible movie.

Though maybe it's because I'm not really a Bond fan.

Me neither, I never got into James Bond: the character or the movies to be honest.

Although, having learned about writer Ian Fleming's adult life, his job during WW2, career, military work, journalism, and other things he did before writing the James Bond books does make me respect the author and how he was able to use his own real-life experiences in those fields to jot it down in a fictional setting (without elaborating or sugar-coating anything) that was both well-executed in what I believe to be a good example of the "Writing What You Know" rule in creative writing.

Seen this movie twice thanks to MST3K, it's stupid fun, and it's one of Joel and the bots best episodes. XD

Alas, I had mistakenly believed there was a R2 DVD of OK Connery. A cursory search of Amazon however, disproves this.

Oh well. Thanks, Neon Harbour! :)

I... was not expecting the positive review! Just hearing the word "Sean Connerys brother" had me prepared for an amazing turkey with a publicity-cast man who couldn't act, but apparently they're just really dedicated to making a James Bond homage, not going the cheap route. Though I have to ask, since I don't think it's ever actually brought up in the video... how good IS Neil Connerys acting? Like, is he as charismatic as his brother? Heck, I'd settle for him being HALF as awesome as Sean.

Wow, I never noticed you have braces. I do too and I'm turning 21 soon. I wonder what Sean thought of this film. I'm interested in checking it out. Shame about the voice though. :( I was actually looking forward to hearing that.

You, sir, is awesome. It's so fresh how you consider the contexts of these productions that could easily be bashed for laughs. I find a lot more fun in seeing how human ingenuity works around the limitations to produce some interesting storytelling. Thank you, sir.
