We might as well face it: That old man had it coming. He called Seagal a whore. He had to die a horrible death.

Interesting note: the woman who plays Caine's secretary also played the EarthGov Political Officer assigned to Sheridan in Babylon 5.
I guess playing oppressive bureaucrats is her forte.

Steven Seagal in "THREE WORD TITLE!"
You have a total knack for picking movies that deserve a nice beatdown and this one was more than worthy from the cringe-worthy SYMBOLISM (a character named "Forrest" and the dream seqeuence) to some truly cheesy, unnecessary scenes like the torture scene with both gratuitious violence and an awful cliche-drenched speech (they actually used the "There's no "I" in "team"" mantra?!).
I have to say, the final product turned out very well and you're definitely improving more and more with each video, finding your voice.
Keep up the great work, Film Brain!

08.06.2009 - 21:00 | CondorelI'm personally of the opinion that naked bear-fighting can only elevate the quality of a film, and was sadly lacking in both Casablanca and Sunset Boulevard, keeping those films from achieving the level of excellence we have just seen here.
Best review yet - you're really hitting your stride, keep it up!

08.06.2009 - 22:22 | Destrucity - Ahem...And now, ladies and gentlemen, the single greatest line of dialogue uttered in any film:
"My guy in DC tells me that we're not dealing with a student here; we're dealing with a professor. He's the kind of guy who would drink a gallon of gasoline so he could piss in your campfire. You could drop this guy off at the Arctic Circle wearing a pair of bikini underwear without his toothbrush and tomorrow afternoon he's going to show up at your poolside with a million-dollar smile and a fistful of pesos!"

Seeing this review, I have to wonder why all the environmental movies/TV shows that I've ever seen have to be so heavy-handed. It's not like we're two year-olds or anything. We get it. Seagal should've understood that subtlety was the way to go. But then again, he is Steven Seagal. ::le sigh:: And you're right. Action flicks don't really do subtle.

Steven Segal is a hack through and through. A good martial artist, yes, but he is a terrible actor and has a very pathetic sense of ability. That is to say, he thinks he has the ability to create films. He does not. I just love his Brooklyn accent though (Out For Justice?), it's completely offbeat and actually manages to somehow become offensive at some points (I hail from Brooklyn).
Keep up the good content, I don't care what other people say, the way you talk and your mannerisms are delightful, not annoying.
