Agreed. It's good to see what our favourite kitchen utensil got up to in Chicago!

05.11.2009 - 21:38 | Linkara
That friggin' Galaga game wouldn't let you move and shoot at the same time. The Holidome was a big disappointment.
If it makes you feel any better, Benzaie, there isn't a sales tax on food.

05.11.2009 - 21:42 | Kuncoss
Very interesting to watch! I'm looking forward to more

And as another man from Europe, I would be just as confused as Ben when it came to sales tax.
It seems just.. weird (for a foreigner)

Scorpion lollipops? WTF???

Far too attracted to the gorilla? With you and the tree? Oh whatever.
Benzaie, come to Oregon next time. No sales tax.

Thanks for posting this, I love these behind the scenes things. Can't wait for more!

That was great.
Ya know, in Oregon we don't have a sales tax. HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA
We are not allowed to pump our own gas either.
looking forward to more of the "sexy" behind the scenes action.

im with Benzaie on this one. i wish we could just pay the actual price it says. i hate having to try and round out the numbers. "19.99? must be about 25.00 or something" wish they could just make it simple and easy on us. though, understandable. doesent each state have some requirement of what amount of tax stuff has on it? so it would be probably more difficult for them to do that all for us, before placing on shelves.
still, im the consumer. like Benzaie said, shouldn't be the one doing math. the employees who get payed should be doing all that!
thanks for the video, enjoyed the little holidome tour as well as your fun wal-mart adventure. hope to see more

You and Benzaie make a great team. These videos are just steadily awesome. I'm holding my breath for a face to face confrontation between Linkara and Dr. Insano! I saw in your gallery that you brought the costume. Linkara makes a pretty good Mad Scientist.

you the man spoony
im english and lived in cali for 4 years...
1) sales tax is just included when they list the price in england.. we still pay it in europe, theres just not this add it at the last minute bullshit
2) its bullshit, agreed
3) isnt it fucking annoying knowing that when you drop 60 bucks on a video game, your actually dropping like... 62 bucks! that shit is expensive enough!
4) i want to see benzaie's reaction to other american stuff, like the difference in soda taste... trust me its all different

How many licks does it take to reach the center of a Scorpion Pop? The world may never know... because NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER PUT ONE NEAR THEIR MOUTH!!!

This vlog actually motivated me to actually register in order to post. Great behind the scenes stuff.
Spoony was doing so crazy yoga stuff in this video isn't he? I couldn't do that if i tried and he just sits right down in that crazy leg folding like it was nothing. Crazy yo.

"That friggin' Galaga game wouldn't let you move and shoot at the same time. The
Holidome was a big disappointment."lol, hearing that from you Linkara is the icing on the cake, hahaha.

Okay, the epic battle was awesome, the collaborations probably will be too, but I think Spoony's vlogs may be in contention for funniest videos to come out of this. I NEED to see Benzaie's reaction to other things. Especially cause I live near Chicago, so that will definitely strike home with me.

05.11.2009 - 22:16 | spokojasne
sales tax is not included in the visible prize, in U.S. - you have to add it yourself..? damn, - that is some strange shit,
if i am gonna go to US i have to keep that in mind.
awsome video btw
-
05.11.2009 - 22:38 | Lotus Prince
Yeah, and as Spoony said, it varies from state to state. Enjoy multiplying some wonky number like seven percent.
-
05.11.2009 - 22:31 | DrGero
Ha ha, that was great. Looking forward to more.
Each state can be a bit different. Here in Oregon we don't have Sales Tax; we only pay what it says on the label.
Course then they take it out of your paycheck...
-
05.11.2009 - 22:33 | HaloOfTheSun
Man, I love Spoony. This whole thing is awesome and I'm glad we get to see some behind the scenes stuff, at least from him. I'm sure we'll see stuff from others as well.
-
05.11.2009 - 22:37 | Lotus Prince
I remember having MY mind blown when I went to Scotland and realized that not only was sales tax included in the price, but also that you don't tip people at restaurants. I kept going to stores and preparing to pay 7% more than what the price tag said, and then the guy at the register said "two pounds," and I was like...oh. :-D
-
05.11.2009 - 22:45 | Kuari
Heh, Benzaie actually has a very good point. Why can't they just add the sales tax into the price of items right on the price tag? Its not something people in the US think about often, but, thinking on it, small as it is, it is a little non-sense.
-
05.11.2009 - 22:59 | I-dream-of-Hoolleewooood2
That is something I've been complaining about for years.
-
05.11.2009 - 22:49 | NowCompleteWith - I can watch Spoony....
all freakin day. I am such a mark for the guy, and the sales tax rant is tremendous. I live in a city with the most sales tax in the nation. Our sales tax is so freakin high, that Forbes listed it as a reason not to live here. SO I am all about the sales tax being bullshit. When something is 9.99 and it ends up being 10.25. It never ever ceases to not to piss me off.
Good work you two. I look forward to more of your shenanigans to come!
-
05.11.2009 - 22:58 | I-dream-of-Hoolleewooood2 - FIELD TRIP BITCHES! :-)
Dudes! By doing these Vlogs, Spoony is taking us all along on his field trip with the rest of the awesome class!
It is a little sad the ambiance of the place they had their meeting was crap. Hope we'll get to see a meeting in the future with all of them in the same place talking about the shoot, it'd be like being a fly on a wall in the Watch Tower while the Justice League of America was in session, planning their strategies for the battle ahead.
-
05.11.2009 - 22:55 | MadScientistJC
lol, I had a flashback to The Magic School Bus because of your comment. I can't wait for the left at the intestine or the second right past Mars.

-
05.11.2009 - 23:03 | I-dream-of-Hoolleewooood2 - Cosmic Quary
Sorry everyone for my third comment, but I can't help wondering why with everybody in Chicago for this thing, why the world didn't just explode or the universe would just collapse right there because of the overload on the Awesome meter.
